A system to hold a backpack away from a user’s back, comprising a rigid frame contoured to rest on a user’s back, configured to be coupled to a backpack and to hold the backpack spaced apart from the user’s back; a flexible mesh material coupled to the frame that rests on the user’s back and distributes the backpack’s weight over the surface of the back; a protective neoprene cover encasing the frame; and upper and lower attachment components configured to removably attach the backpack to the system.

An apparatus for automatically adjusting tension on retention member to hold multiple objects together. Examples include using retention apparatus to obtain optimal fit and use of a human wearable item such as article of footwear. Sensors may be used to sense changes in movement of the article of footwear, of the person wearing it, or of a third object such as a vehicle carrying the person. A retention member may surround at least a portion of the objects, and an actuator may be included that automatically rotates a rotating member such as a gear or pulley that may be coupled to the retention member. The rotating member may be configured to automatically adjust tension on the retention member many times per second based on control signals from control logic responsive to the sensors.

The present patent application relates to a backpack for domiciliary medical services, for optimising the transport, protection, cleaning and organisation of basic medical items (devices and consumables) when used in the care of a patient during his or her respective domiciliary medical visit and consultation by a doctor or health professional. The backpack for domiciliary medical services also allows easy access to the medical and personal items being carried, and provides versatile adjustment and adaptation of each of its interior spaces according to the need of the health professional. Furthermore, using oxygen, UV light, water, soap or ammonia, among others, the backpack and all the items that it contains can be cleaned and disinfected against microorganisms and bacteria that may become impregnated in or adhere to the backpack.

A system may include an acromion-socket constructed out of multiple components that are shaped to engage a user's acromion-portion. The system may also include a strap positioned away from the user's neck by the acromion-socket to connect a load to the user.

In some embodiments, a strap assembly has a chest compression strap having a loop at one end, a connection fitting having an anchoring strip at one end proximate a connection fitting connector and configured to attach to a pack at another end opposite the anchoring strip, and a shoulder strap having a channel proximate a shoulder strap connector and configured to retain the anchoring strip when the connection fitting connector is attached to the shoulder strap connector, the shoulder strap being configured to attach to a pack at another end opposite the shoulder strap connector, the shoulder strap having a guideway through the channel configured to receive the chest compression strap loop, wherein the anchoring strip engages the loop when the anchoring strip is retained in the channel.

A convertible shoulder bag and backpack includes: (a) a bag body defining front, back, top, bottom, first side, and second side panels; and (b) a strap defining first and second portions thereof extending between first and second pairs of connection points for connecting the first and second portions to the bag body, respectively. An interconnecting portion slidably extends between a pair of diagonally opposing connection points such that slidably increasing the length of the first portion decreases the length of the second portion and vice versa, the strap being configured to enable the convertible shoulder bag and backpack to be converted between a shoulder-bag configuration and a backpack configuration without disconnecting or reconnecting the strap. The strap may include a retractable hip belt and/or securing strap. Additionally, a tote handle may be coupled to the first and/or second portion by a length-multiplying interconnecting portion.

An embodiment of the umbrella holder can include a pouch and a strap system connected to the pouch. In an embodiment, the strap system includes a pair of shoulder straps, a waist strap, and a chest strap. The pouch can be generally cylindrical having an open upper end, a closed lower end, and a cylindrical peripheral wall extending between the upper and closed ends. The umbrella holder is configured to hold a collapsible handheld umbrella when the umbrella is in the collapsed configuration and the shaft of the umbrella when the umbrella is in an expanded configuration. As such, a user can carry the umbrella hands-free or without having to hold the umbrella.

A sling for a firearm or luggage is provided comprising a pad comprising a single layer closed cell foam body defining a first surface and a second surface and a plurality of slots extending therethrough from the upper surface to the lower surface; and a binding secured to the periphery of the pad. The pad can be configured in a variety of ways to provide slings for carrying firearms and luggage. An embodiment of the pad is a backpanel having four sides and four corners that can be releasably connected to a chest pack such as a binocular case.

A strap adjustment device has a retaining body and a strap connector adjustably mounted in the retaining body. The retaining body has an interior cavity and a top opening extending in a horizontal direction, and at least one protrusion extending into the cavity. The strap connector has a strap connecting portion with at least one strap connecting element, and an adjustment portion disposed inside the cavity. The adjustment portion has a lower locking element and a spring mounted its end. When the spring is in a relaxed state, the protrusion prevents movement of the strap connector in the horizontal direction by blocking the lower locking element. Pressing the strap connector against the force of the spring moves the lower locking element below the protrusion, so that the strap connector can be moved in the horizontal direction to a new position within the retaining body.
