A connector device comprises a male taper component having a base and a tapering bracket extending therefrom, and a female taper component having a tapering channel. The tapering bracket is releasably received within the tapering channel to effect a firm connection between the male taper component and the female taper component.

The present invention provides a connection system for removably connecting first and second pieces one to another. The connection system comprises: a tapering recess formed in, or connected to, the first piece. The tapering recess has an opening which is shaped and dimensioned to receive a wedge formed in, or connected to, the second piece. The wedge has a dovetail profile which is adapted to engage with walls of the recess.

The wedge is shaped and dimensioned to slide in a first direction and thereby wedge into the tapered recess. Each piece has at least one aperture which receives a lock piece. The first and second pieces when connected and which when oriented in a user preferred direction, cause the lock piece to fall from a first aperture into a second aperture, thereby locking the wedge in the tapering recess and preventing movement in an opposite sliding direction.

A shelving system formed by a plurality of vertical posts and horizontal traverses held together through frictional engagement. Disposed between each lateral pair of posts is at least one traverse which includes a male frictional engagement member configured to engage with a removable female frictional engagement member disposed on each post. The post and traverse engage with each other so as to create a proportional or supportive reaction force in response to any shear force applied to the shelving system. Each of the female frictional engagement members has a tapered edge which forms a closely fitted coupling between the post and each traverse. Each of the female frictional engagement members may be selectively disposed in one of a plurality of positions along the height of each vertical post. The shelving system further includes top and bottom connectors, both of which also frictionally engage with the vertical posts.

A method of assembling a set of panels, to obtain an assembled product, including connecting a first edge of a first panel, with a first main plane, to a first edge of a second panel, with a second main plane, including arranging a third panel with a third main plane perpendicular to the first main plane, arranging a first edge of the third panel at a second edge of the second panel and arranging the third main plane with a second angle in relation to the second main plane; connecting the first edge of the third panel to the second edge of the second panel, by displacing the third panel and/or the second panel; and connecting a second edge of the third panel to a second edge of the first panel and connecting the first edge of the third panel to the second edge of the second panel.

A shelving system formed by a plurality of vertical posts and horizontal traverses held together through frictional engagement. Disposed between each lateral pair of posts is at least one traverse which includes a male frictional engagement member configured to engage with a removable female frictional engagement member disposed on each post. A compartment divider assembly. The compartment divider assembly may comprise: a first divider having at least one dovetail groove and a divider support groove assembly, comprising: a first groove portion having a first dovetail portion and a second groove portion, having a second dovetail portion. The first dovetail portion may have a planar face sloping outwardly at a dovetail angle. The second dovetail portion may also have a planar face sloping outwardly at a dovetail angle. The first dovetail portion and said second dovetail portion together may form a male dovetail when combined, and the male dovetail may engage and secure onto the dovetail groove of the first divider. The compartment divider assembly may further comprise a corner coupler, comprising: two male dovetails, both of which may be adapted to slideably engage with a dovetail groove. The compartment divider assembly may also comprise an accessory holder for receiving an accessory.

A cabinet that hangs on a wall and directs forces in such a manner so as to provide a stronger assembly. The cabinet includes a front frame, joinery, and a plurality of panels. The joinery attaches some of the plurality of panels to each other and to the front frame, and directs the forces from the some of the plurality of panels to the front frame so as to provide the stronger assembly.

A hollow groove pipe structure is disclosed and includes a hollow groove pipe, first fixing sliding members, second fixing sliding members, and fixing members. The hollow groove pipe has a first surface, a second surface, a third surface, and a fourth surface for surrounding a hollow space. At least two opposite surfaces have grooves, and the bottoms of the grooves are greater (wider) than the opening and provided with trough holes. The plates having a plurality of protruding portions can be clamped in the grooves. The first and second fixing sliding members having protruding portions surround and clamp the plates with the space between the two through holes of the grooves, such that the fixing members pass through the holes of the first fixing sliding member, and the holes of the groove the holes of the second fixing sliding member fix and combine the plates into a whole.

An improved joint is provided for modular furniture. The joint includes a dovetail shaped tab and a corresponding slot. The tab is held in the slot such that the tab is maintained in an elastically bent position while the item of modular furniture is in an assembled configuration. The tab and slot provides increased stiffness and rigidity to the piece of furniture while allowing the piece of furniture to be assembled without fasteners such as screws or nails.
