TILT CHAIR
A tiltable chair includes a flexible seat body including an integrally formed seat back and seat surface is supported on a seat frame disposed on upper parts of legs, and the seat back connected to a back frame allowing tilting rearwards, the position of the connection being in an area around the upper part of the pelvis of a person seated thereon. A guide rail having an arc-shaped groove is fixed to the seat frame, and guide members which engage and roll in the arc-shaped grooves are pivotably supported on a shaft bracket of the rear surface of the seat surface. The arc-shaped groove has a high center so that the seat surface undergoes curved motion forward and upward such that the ischium is positioned lower than the lower part of the knees when the seat back tilts rearwards.
SLIDABLE GAMING CHAIR INCLUDING RETURN-TO-HOME FEATURE
An electronic gaming system is described. The electronic gaming system includes an upper assembly including a chair and at least one sensor. The electronic gaming system also includes a lower assembly coupled to the upper assembly by a support structure wherein the lower assembly includes a centering system and wherein the centering system is configured to return the chair to a predefined home position in response to the at least one sensor of the upper assembly detecting a weight below a predefined threshold.
Seat chassis
A seating furniture chassis comprises a seat surface frame, a backrest frame, two armrests, and a drive mechanism. The backrest frame is pivotable about a virtual pivot axis defined by two pivot points, wherein the backrest frame is fastened to the pivot points on the armrests. The drive mechanism is connected to the backrest frame by a translation mechanism. The drive mechanism is designed to trigger a translation of the translation mechanism, wherein the translation is converted into a pivoting movement of the backrest frame about the pivot axis. The backrest frame is connected below the pivot points to the seat surface frame so that during the pivoting movement the seat surface frame is moved translationally. The drive mechanism is arranged below a first lateral edge region of the seat surface frame.
Compact adjustable reclining mechanism for a theater seating unit with planar back drop
A compact recliner mechanism for use in theater seating units is provided that allows the seat to move linearly as the seating unit moves from the closed position to the reclined position. The mechanism has a back bracket coupled to the seat plate and base plate with a linkage that moves a projected point representing the top of the back of the seating unit downwardly in vertical plane as the seating unit moves from the closed position to the reclined position. In other aspects, the seating unit has an armrest linkage coupled between the seat plate and the back that maintains an armrest lever at a horizontal orientation. Additionally, in some aspects, the base plate of the seating unit may have an adjustment feature that limits recline of the seating unit, to accommodate theater seating with different riser dimensions, and/or legs with an adjustment feature to level the seating unit on existing theater floors.
Chair having tilting seat and back
An ergonomic chair includes a support body having a seat support portion and a back support portion. A forward sloping seat track is positioned on the seat support portion. A first seat portion engages the seat track on the seat support portion for forward and rearward movement along the seat track between a forward position and a rearward position. A second seat portion is provided having an upwardly extending back rest. The second seat portion is pivotally connected to the first seat portion. Movement of the first seat portion forward along the seat track toward the forward position draws the second seat portion forward with forward movement of the second seat portion causing movement of the back rest downwardly. This allows for subtle movement forward and backward movement that energizes major leg muscles.
ADJUSTABLE FURNITURE
The invention provides an article of adjustable furniture (10) comprising a backrest (20) and an adjustable headrest (130) pivotally mounted with respect to the backrest, actuator means (100) for moving the headrest between raised and lowered positions, and guide means (138, 140) arranged between the headrest and the backrest for rotating the headrest with respect to the backrest as the headrest moves between its raised and lowered positions. The guide means includes first and second guides (138, 140), each associated with one of the backrest and the headrest and having at least one follower (142, 144) associated with the other of the backrest and headrest. The first and second guides are inclined with respect to each other such that a turning moment is generated on the headrest when the headrest is raised or lowered. In one embodiment the article of adjustable furniture comprises a floor standing base section (16), adjustable seat (18), backrest (20) and headrest (130) sections and actuator means (100) for moving the backrest and headrest sections. The seat section is movably mounted with respect to the base section. The backrest is movably mounted with respect to the seat section and the headrest is movably mounted with respect to the backrest section. The actuator means includes a single actuator (102) for co-ordinated movement of the adjustable backrest and headrest sections for selectively altering the configuration of the article of furniture. The actuator has a first range of movement for moving the headrest with respect to the backrest. A second range of movement moves the backrest with respect to the seat section to provide a recliner function.
Functional chair
A support mechanism for mounting a seat part to a foot part of a functional chair having a slide bearing which cooperates with a front section of the seat part, and a pivotable support part which is supported by a cantilever part and which is connected to a region of the seat part that is adjacent to the rear region of a seat surface section of the seat part.
Chair with adjustable backrest and seat
An adjustable chair comprises chair support, backrest, a backrest support mechanism including at least one backrest arm pivotally connected to the support, and a seat having front and rear regions and a seat surface. The chair includes first and second seat support mechanisms with the first mechanism adjustably connecting the front region of the seat and the second mechanism adjustably connecting the rear region. The second seat support mechanism includes at least one seat arm having front and rear arm extensions and connected to the support for pivotal movement about a horizontal axis. The rear arm extension is pivotally connected to the rear region of the seat. A toggle arrangement is pivotally mounted on the chair support and engages the front end section of the at least one seat arm and front end section of the at least one backrest arm.
Chair and chair control assemblies, systems, and methods
Chairs, seating systems, chair sub-assemblies and sub-systems, and associated methods of assembly and use. Aspects relate to chairs and methods of assembling chairs including chair controls of a relatively compact and effective design with desirable synchronous raising and tilting motions. Aspects also relate to tilt lock assemblies for achieving secure and effective tilt securement. Additional aspects relate to forward and rearward adjustment, or extension and retraction, of a seating assembly of the chair.
Chair Having A Deflection That Is Mutually Synchronous Between Backrest and A Seat
The invention relates to a chair which functions by means of a deflection that is mutually synchronous between a backrest (9) and a seat (25) over a range between a respective zero position of back inclination (R.sub.0) and of seat inclination (S.sub.0) and a respective maximum back inclination (R.sub.max) and maximum seat inclination (S.sub.max). The mechanism (2) that causes synchronous deflection has a spring unit (6) arranged therein. The base support (50) of a carrier unit (5) is rigidly fastened to the underframe (1), which is intended to be set on the floor. A stationary first axis of rotation (D1) and a stationary second axis of rotation (D2) extend through the base support (50). A back carrier (91) is articulated on the first axis of rotation (D1). A third axis of rotation (D3), which moves around the first axis of rotation (D1) when the mechanism (2) is adjusted, extends through the back carrier (91). A base plate (3) lies movably on the base support (50) at the front of the base plate and is articulated on the third axis of rotation (D3) at the rear of the base plate. The base support (50) is designed in the shape of a U, having a center part (54) and two arms (53) extending upward from the center part, which arms each have a shaped piece (55) protruding upward, which shaped pieces each engage in an associated opening (34) in the base plate (3). When the mechanism (2) is deflected, a relative displacement between the stationary shaped pieces (55) and the openings (34) arises. The two openings (34) are oriented in the direction of the seat depth (T) and thus at right angles to the transversely extending axes of rotation (D1, D2, D3).
