An adjustable mattress is described herein. The adjustable mattress is comprised of one or more adjustable elements. The adjustable elements may, in some examples, be filled with air or other fluid in order to adjust the height and firmness of the adjustable mattress. The adjustable mattress may provide a user with assistance in rolling over or repositioning while using the adjustable mattress.

A self-checking system for an air bag includes a client, a detection module, an air bag control unit and an air bag device. The air bag control unit is connected with the air bag device; the air bag device includes an air bag and an air path; and the detection module is configured for detecting the air bag device and the air bag control unit according to preset steps.

A method may comprise receiving, at a central controller, a command, from a remote control, to adjust a feature of a first component of an air mattress framework; relaying, from the central controller, the command to the first component; receiving from the first component at the central controller, an indication of the success of the command; and relaying the indication from the central controller to the remote control.

An air system for a bed can include a layer assembly having a head end, a foot end, and first and second sides, with a head portion near the head end, a foot portion near the foot end, and a middle portion between the head portion and the foot portion, the layer assembly. The layer assembly can have a spacer layer comprising spacer material configured to allow for air flow through the spacer material and a cover comprising a cover top layer and a cover bottom layer. The air system can have a distribution manifold that is substantially fan-shaped with a plurality of ribs defining channels and/or is positioned above the cover bottom layer and under the spacer layer. The air system can have first and second flaps with first and second retention features extending from the head and foot ends of the air layer.

A bed has a mattress. A sensor is configured to sense sleep readings of a user sleeping on the bed. An automation controller is configured to transmit the sleep readings to a cloud service. Hardware hosting the cloud service is configured to compare the sleep readings with trend data in order to generate adjustments to the user's sleep environment.

Systems and methods for cooling a datacenter are disclosed. In at least one embodiment, an in-rack refrigerant distribution unit (RDU) distributes refrigerant to one or more colds plates in association with a pressure control system to enable a pressure-drop before an expansion valve for a liquid-phase of a refrigerant based in part on a pressure of a liquid-phase of a refrigerant exceeding a first threshold and based in part on a temperature associated with one or more cold plates being below a second threshold.

An inflatable mattress that has multiple chambers is disclosed that includes a first section with a first pressure valve, and a second section that has a plurality of collapsible airtight vertical cylindrical chambers displaced across the first section and which defines a top surface and each vertical chamber includes valves, controlled by a central controller that is programmable and controls the flow of air in and out of each chamber, thereby providing a method to alter the vertical dimension of each chamber and affect movement to a person on the top surface mattress.

A system including a self-adjusting chair is provided. The system includes a chair that is configured to be adjustable to an occupant. The system also includes a plurality of sensors, wherein each sensor of the plurality of sensors is configured to measure a characteristic of the occupant and to transmit a signal that indicates the characteristic of the occupant. In addition, the system includes a plurality of actuators, wherein each actuator of the plurality of actuators is configured to adjust a property of the chair. Further, the system includes a controller that is configured to receive at least one signal from at least one sensor of the plurality of sensors and to instruct at least one actuator of the plurality of actuators to adjust at least one property of the chair based on at least one characteristic of the occupant.

A foam-air mattress includes a mattress housing including a top layer and a bottom layer; a plurality of pocket walls, disposed between the top layer and the bottom layer, air bladder inserts that can be inserted into the plurality of pocket walls, wherein the air bladder inserts are configured to be connected to a pumping system via a tubing assembly; and a plurality of foam compartments formed by the mattress housing and the plurality of pocket walls, configured to accept foam inserts. The air bladder inserts when inserted into the plurality of pocket walls and inflated by the pumping system, configure the plurality of pocket walls to expand and compress foam inserts disposed within the plurality of foam compartments so as to increase the density of the foam inserts. This arrangement has applications in both the consumer and medical airbed contexts, as well as in other support system contexts, such as seat cushions for chairs.
