An apparatus (20) for the continuous production of a mattress (14) of agglomerated mineral fibres is described, comprising a mineral fibre receiving or forming chamber (2), an accumulator conveyer (3) arranged below the receiving or forming chamber (2) and comprising adjacent drums (4) provided with perforated or gas-permeable circumferential surfaces (5) for receiving and accumulating the fibres to form a mattress (14) comprising mineral fibres between the drums (4), a gas extraction device (6) in fluid communication with the perforated or gas-permeable circumferential surfaces (5) of the drums (4) and a lower space between the drums (4) for unloading the mattress (14) of mineral fibres formed between the drums (4), the apparatus (20) being characterized in that said drums (4) comprise each a first half-drum (4a) and a second half-drum (4b) telescopically connected with each other and which are movable along the axis of rotation (X) between a first stroke-end position in which the first half-drum (4a) and the second half-drum (4b) are juxtaposed or in contact with each other, and a second stroke-end position in which the first half-drum (4a) and the second half-drum (4b) are spaced apart from each other at a predetermined maximum distance along the direction of the axis (X) of rotation of the drums (4), a gas-permeable or perforated circumferential band (22) being furthermore provided, which overlaps at least one of said first half-drum (4a) and said second half-drum (4b) at opposite end portions of said half-drums (4a,4b).

A method of manufacturing a mattress that comprises forming a mattress inner core; forming a non-quilted mattress cover; and attaching the non-quilted mattress cover to the inner core without sewing. The non-quilted mattress cover may be formed of a laminate including a polymeric non-woven fabric that may be embossed and cut to include a cover top panel and a plurality of cover side panels that are unitary with and extend outward from the cover top panel. The step of attaching the non-quilted mattress cover to the inner core without sewing includes orthogonally orienting the cover side panels relative to the cover top panel and fusing portions of adjoining surfaces of adjacent cover side panels to each other to form a coffin, inserting the mattress inner core into the coffin, folding non-fused portions of the adjoining surface of the adjacent cover side panels over the mattress inner core, and bonding a bottom panel to the non-fused portions of the cover side panels and the mattress inner core.

The present invention relates to a three-dimensional string woven air cushion and a method of manufacturing the same, the three-dimensional string woven air cushion including a lower sheet layer made by interlacing a plurality of weft yarns and a plurality of warp yarns and configured to define a predetermined thickness layer and a bottom surface, an upper sheet layer made by interlacing a plurality of weft yarns and a plurality of warp yarns and configured to define a predetermined thickness layer and a top surface, the upper sheet layer being disposed above the lower sheet layer, provided in parallel with the lower sheet layer, and spaced apart from the lower sheet layer at a predetermined distance, and an interval maintaining yarn layer made by interlacing interval maintaining yarns connected to at least one of the weft yarn and the warp yarn of each of the lower and upper sheet layers, the interval maintaining yarns being continuously interlaced and connected in a zigzag manner in a direction from one side to the other side, thereby providing an advantage that greatly improve a user’s sleeping convenience.

Bedding for a crib mattress includes a plurality of temperature sensitive sensors disposed therein and an on-board power source. The sensors are configured to be in wireless communication with a monitoring device. A visual indicator is disposed upon the bedding and in electrical communication with the power source. The visual indicator is activated when a pre-set temperature is sensed by any one of the sensors.

Bedding for a crib mattress includes a plurality of temperature sensitive sensors disposed therein and an on-board power source. The side rail assembly includes a laminate structure including one or more foam layers and one or more fiber layers in a stacked arrangement. The fiber layer can be a non-woven layer.

A mattress assembly includes a cover, a spring pack positioned within the cover, and an inner core positioned within the cover. The inner core includes opposite first and second portions. The first portion has a firmness that is different than a firmness of the second portion. The inner core is configured to be moved between a first configuration in which the first portion directly engages the spring pack and a second configuration in which the second portion directly engages the spring pack to alter a firmness of a sleep surface of the mattress.
