Anchor and alignment device for floor covering tiles
RE047329 · 2019-04-02 · ·

An anchor for a carpet tile includes a cross-shaped base having four arms extending from a vertex. The arms form a planar top surface and a planar bottom surface. A vertical blade centered on the base rises to engage the backing of a carpet tile when a corner of the carpet tile is placed near the vertex. The blade is preferably made of bendable and resilient material. Preferably, the anchor is used with a pedestal head of a raised-flooring system and has a nub extending from the bottom surface of each of the arms of the base to fit within holes in the pedestal head and thereby secure the anchor to the pedestal head. An alternative anchor includes a plate for the base and the blade in the shape of a cross rises from the plate. The plate may have a hole in each quadrant defined by the blade.

Modular ambulatory surface

A modular ambulatory surface exhibits terrain variations for emulating a walking surface for ambulatory rehabilitation. Ambulatory mobility, or basic walking from alternated leg movements, is one of the most basic capabilities enjoyed by humans, and therefore can be devastating if suddenly compromised. A number of modular surfaces each exhibit different terrain qualities, and are joined together according to a prescribed sequence of desired, rehabilitative terrain. A flexible or resilient walking surface encapsulates shaped, load bearing elements that define the rehabilitative walking surface. Joinable edges have a pattern of protrusion, receptacles or similar fixtures for coupling to an adjacent module. A series of joined, modular surfaces allows simulation of an outdoor surface and variations thereof that are otherwise difficult to provide in a modern commercial facility with fixed planar flooring.

A device for coupling at least two floor-mats together on a floor-surface is disclosed herein. The device includes a plate, a first mat fastener, and a second mat fastener. The device is useful for coupling at least two floor-mats together on a floor surface. In a preferred embodiment, the first mat fastener and the second mat fastener may be screws and the screws may be configured to penetrate a thickness of the at least two-floor mats to couple the at least two-floor mats together.

Method to removably connect a carpet product to a surface and a double face tape for use in the method

The invention pertains to a method to removably connect a carpet product having a pile side and a fibrous back side to a surface, wherein the method comprises the step of adhering a double face tape with a first side of the tape to the fibrous back side of the carpet product and connecting the carpet product to the surface by adhering the second side of the double face tape to the surface, the first side of said double face tape is provided with multiple hooks extending from this side and having a length of 0.1-10 mm, and the second side of said double face tape is provided with multiple adhesive nano fibres extending from the second side, each fibre having a distal tip that has a surface extending perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the fibre, the surface having a diameter of 1-900 nm. The invention also pertains to a carpet product and double face tape for use in the above described method.

Flooring System

This invention relates to a flooring system comprised of a plurality of washable, multi-component floor mats. The floor mats contain a textile component and a base component. The textile component and the base component are attached to one another by a variety of mechanisms, including magnetic attraction. The magnetic attraction is provided by incorporation of magnetic particles in both the textile and base components. The textile component is designed to be soiled, washed, and re-used, thereby providing ideal end-use applications in areas such as building entryways.
