Bathtub closure systems and methods
A bathtub closure system may include a step configured to be retrofit onto a bathtub and a plug. The step may include a first side panel, a second side panel, and an elongated platform defining a cavity configured to facilitate ingress and egress into the bathtub, and a first attachment recess extending downward from the first top surface less than an entire height of the first side panel or extending downward from the second top surface less than an entire height of the second side panel. The plug includes a body and a first attachment member affixed to the body and corresponding to the first attachment recess defined by the step. The plug cooperates with the step to form a substantially watertight seal when the first attachment member is mated with the first attachment recess and the body of the plug is positioned at least partially within the cavity.
Multi-compartment walk-in bathtub
A multi-compartment walk-in bathtub is disclosed that allows for a first compartment of the walk-in bathtub to be filled with a quantity of water while a second compartment of the walk-in bathtub allows the user to enter the bathtub. A first movable gate contains a volume of water in the first compartment while the second compartment is in an unfilled condition. A second movable gate is operable to open and close an entry sidewall of the bathtub, allowing the user to enter the second compartment. The second movable gate is then moved to a closed position. When the second movable gate is in the closed condition, the first movable gate may be moved to an open condition to release the volume of water and fill the walk-in bathtub to a filled condition. A seat may be provided that is selectively elevated and lowered by drive mechanism.
Reconfigurable water distribution system for a walk-in tub bathing installation with a single pump for multiple functions
A reconfigurable water distribution system for a walk-in tub bathing installation including two or more types of discharge ports for discharging water. The system includes a single motorized pump having an input connected to a suction port of the bathing installation, and an output port delivering pressurized water. A pipe system selectively connects the pump to the two or more types of discharge ports to selectively direct the pressurized water to the different ones of the types of discharge ports. The system selectively enables the bathing installation to perform a plurality of different functions using a single pump.
BATHTUB DOOR HINGE ASSEMBLY AND METHOD
A hinge having a pair of bathtub mounting blocks mounted to a bathtub surround adjacent a door jamb and a pair of door mounting blocks mounted to a bathtub door, with articulating linkage extending between the bathtub mounting blocks and the door mounting blocks. The articulating linkage has a pair of bathtub arms that pivotally couple at a first end to the bathtub mounting blocks through a first pivot rod and pivotally couple at a second end to a pair of door arms through a second pivot rod. Each door arm pivotally couples at an opposite end to one of the door mounting blocks through a third pivot rod. A spring mounted about the first pivot rod enables the bathtub arms and the bathtub door to rise. A method of door closure and opening for a walk-in bathtub is disclosed.
Bathtub door systems and methods
A bathtub insert can include a frame, a door movably coupled with the frame and movable with respect to the frame between an opened position and a closed position, an elongate latch coupled with the door, a catch coupled with the frame, and a support structure, the support structure being coupled to the frame.
Accelerated drain apparatus and method for walk-in bathtub
An accelerated drain system for a walk-in bathtub with a water outlet in a side wall communicates water to a diverter valve biased to circulate the water in the bathtub and movable selectively to communicate water through a reverse check valve to a drain, the reverse check valve biased closed to prevent water flow and movable selectively to allow water flow to the drain, with a controller configured for moving the diverter valve selectively from the second position to the closed position for subsequent use of the walk-in bathtub. A method of rapid draining of a walk-in bathtub is disclosed.
Bathtub having sliding access door for the disabled and elderly
A bathtub has a doorway in a sidewall thereof. A door is slidably mounted to guides on guide followers mounted to both the door and the guides. The guide followers carry the door along a substantially horizontal translation along the sidewall between open and closed positions. A releasable latch and cooperating latch actuator is mounted to the door for releasable latching engagement of the door when in a watertight sealed engagement in the doorway, and for releasing the door from such engagement upon actuation by a user of the latch actuator into its release position. A passive hydrostatic seal is mounted so as to be sandwiched between the door and the doorway doorframe when the door is closed.
Walk-In Tub Door Assembly
A walk-in tub includes a tub frame having a door frame provided in one or more of the walls of the tub frame. The tub further includes a door hingedly connected to the door frame and adapted for movement between an open position into the interior cavity of the tub and a closed position aligned with the door frame. A sealing face is provided on the door frame facing the interior cavity of the tub. A seal is disposed around a perimeter of the door for sealing the door against the sealing face when the door is in the closed position. A latching mechanism on the door is operable between a latching position and an unlatching position and includes a slidable latching pin that is slidable to engage a pin receiver in the latching position when the door is locked and disengage from the pin receiver in the unlatching position when the door is unlocked.
DUAL SLIDING DOOR SYSTEM
A dual sliding door apparatus incudes a rectangular shaped frame configured for attachment to two opposing walls and a floor, the frame creating an opening, a top of the frame comprising a first rail parallel to a second rail, a first glass door sized so as to cover about one half of the opening, a pair of roller wheels coupled to a top of the first door, the pair of roller wheels including a concave outer surface designed to mate with the first rail, such that the first door rolls on the first rail, a second glass door with a pair of roller wheels coupled to a top of the second door, a first stop coupled to an outer circumference of the first glass door, and a second stop coupled to an outer circumference of the second glass door.
UPRIGHT MASSAGE TUB THAT CONVERTS INTO A STANDARD BATHTUB
A walk-in tub design that can also act as a standard bathtub via a hub that can be moved out of the way, and is capable of converting from a standard walk-in shower to a standard bathtub in the lowered position.
