DISHWASHING APPARATUS AND METHOD
A dishwashing apparatus comprises a housing containing a series of zones, each zone adapted for performing a step of a dishwashing cycle. A drive means transports a shuttle loaded with a soiled item in a loop from a loading/unloading area atop the housing, into the housing, through each of the wash-step zones and out of the housing back to the loading/unloading area. Different shuttle types are provided, each type adapted to carry one of: an individual item of plateware, an individual item of cupware or an individual place setting of cutlery. A method of washing dishes utilising the apparatus is described. The apparatus is compact for installation flush with countertop adjacent to a kitchen sink. The apparatus and method permit rapid and efficient washing of small numbers of items such as a single place setting.

Ergonomic Intelligent Dishwasher comprising of closed-loop carousel system, tableware storage holder and a Wash-Pod. Individual tableware is inserted through an opening where the tableware attaches to a closed-loop, speed-adjustable carousel-system that moves the individual tableware, in a queue-fashion, through one or more wash cycle as the attached-tableware travels towards the tableware separation-mechanism. Tableware separation-mechanism is activated or deactivated for each individual tableware in the said queue on the carousel based on user-define setting or an internal quality-control process, thus, when deactivated, attached tableware on the carousel continues to travel through additional said cleaning cycle in the loop until such time when carousel-tableware separation-mechanism is activated. Once the tableware is discharged and separated from the carousel, the tableware is directed to one or more tableware storage holder. As part of the same unit, Wash-Pod is a housing within the unit with closeable lid for washing kitchenware items based on user parameters.

Immersion Systems & Methods for Pre-Washing or Washing Silverware
A silverware pre-washing and washing system made up of a unitary basin with one to five, and preferably three, vertically movable porous baskets arranged radially around a central vertical lifting and lowering mechanism. The base with unitary basin contains a quantity of washing fluid(s) into which each of the vertically movable porous baskets may be repeatedly immersed. The base cover defines cylindrical ports through which the baskets are raised and lowered. The porous baskets include perforation arrays to allow washing fluid to flow in non-linear paths through the silverware contained in the basket, thereby washing all sides of the silverware and beneficially re-arranging the silverware in the basket as the washing process proceeds.

A system for grasping and retaining dishware during a cleaning cycle. The system includes a grasping element and a receiving surface substantially adjacent to the grasping element. The grasping element grasps the dishware, and the receiving surface receives and retains the dishware during at least one stage of a cleaning cycle. A collection mechanism of washing device includes: a receiving space for receiving an object from a conveyance mechanism; a collection space above the receiving space for receiving the stacked objects; a lifting mechanism below the receiving space for pushing the object from the receiving space to the collection space; a supporting element between the receiving space and the collection space, pivotable between a support position and an erected position. The objects in the collection space are placed on the supporting element at the support position. When the object in the receiving space is pushed by the lifting mechanism, the supporting element is pushed to the erected position to allow the object to enter the collection space under the stacked objects. When the objects are higher than the supporting element, the supporting element pivots back to the support position to support the objects again.
