A household dishwasher includes a washing container holding a dishwasher load, and a container holding an operating material and arranged outside the washing container and accessible via an opening in an interior of the washing container when a door of the household dishwasher is open. A spray arm applies washing liquor to the dishwasher load and is actively driven by a drive entity. A detection entity is operably connected to a drive element of the drive entity for detecting an angular position of the drive element. A control device determines an angular position of the spray arm as a function of the detected angular position of the drive element and, as a function of the determined angular position of the spray arm, activates the drive entity to stop the spray arm within a predefined angular range that is outside an angular range defined by an access region of the opening.

A method of cleaning dishware in a domestic dishwasher using a program including a cleaning cycle and a rinse cycle is described. The method includes the steps of a) placing the dishware in the dishwasher; b) delivering a cleaning composition having enzymes into the cleaning cycle to form a wash liquor and subjecting the dishware to the wash liquor; and c) delivering a rinse composition free of enzymes and free of bleach into the rinse cycle to form a rinse liquor having a pH of greater than 9 and subjecting the dishware to the rinse liquor.

A washing appliance such as a dishwasher or laundry washing machine comprises an ion-exchange water softening section and a brine generator to supply brine to the water softening section to regenerate ion-exchange resins therein, and a valve (such as a float valve) in a water supply conduit to the brine generator. The valve permits water to flow into the brine generator but blocks back-flow of liquid from the brine generator to the water supply conduit.

A water softener for a dishwasher includes a tank body having a regeneration tank that accommodates brine, an exchange tank that accommodates an ion exchange resin, and a flow path configured to supply water to the regeneration tank and the exchange tank. The water softener further includes a regeneration inlet in communication with the regeneration tank, an exchange inlet in communication with the exchange tank, and a switching valve mounted at the tank body and configured to open and close the regeneration inlet and the exchange inlet to switch the flow path. The switching valve includes a head configured to open and close the regeneration inlet and the exchange inlet. A sealing protrusion protrudes toward the head from a circumference of the regeneration inlet and is configured to contact the head to seal the regeneration inlet.

A method of cleaning dishware in a domestic dishwasher, the method having the steps of: placing the dishware in the dishwasher; delivering a first high-alkalinity composition into the dishwasher to create a first wash liquor having a pH of 11 or greater; delivering a second lower-alkalinity composition into the dishwasher to create a second wash liquor having a pH of less than 11; and subjecting the dishware to the first composition before subjecting it to the second composition.

An integrated component for supplying and treating water for a dishwashing machine having a washing tank includes a monolithic body of plastics material, within which an inlet conduit for water, a chamber containing substances with water-softening properties, into which the inlet conduit leads, a salt-containing reservoir arranged in the lowermost portion of the body and having a filler tube for loading the salt and to be connected to the washing tank, a compartment for blowing out vapours having an inlet opening to be connected to the washing tank and an outlet opening, an outlet conduit of water, a conduit for supplying water to the reservoir to produce the brine, and a conduit connecting the reservoir to the chamber are defined. The monolithic body has at least one protrusion, to which a sealing gasket is associated, for the direct connection within an opening of corresponding shape of the washing tank.

A water softener for a dishwasher includes a tank body having a regeneration tank that accommodates brine, an exchange tank that accommodates an ion exchange resin, and a flow path configured to supply water to the regeneration tank and the exchange tank. The water softener further includes a regeneration inlet in communication with the regeneration tank, an exchange inlet in communication with the exchange tank, and a switching valve mounted at the tank body and configured to open and close the regeneration inlet and the exchange inlet to switch the flow path. The switching valve includes a head configured to open and close the regeneration inlet and the exchange inlet. A sealing protrusion protrudes toward the head from a circumference of the regeneration inlet and is configured to contact the head to seal the regeneration inlet.

A warewasher has at least one treatment system comprising a jet system (60, 61, 62, 63, 202) with at least one jet for spraying treatment liquid onto the items within at least one treatment zone (32, 33, 201), a fresh water system and a control device (10), wherein the fresh water system has at least one water feed (71), with at least one fresh water inlet (70) for the introduction of fresh water into the at least one treatment zone (32, 33, 201) as well as a controllable capacitive deionization unit (50), wherein the at least one cell (50a, 50b) is designed to be operated in a deionization mode and in at least one further operating mode, wherein the control device (10) is designed to change the operating mode of the at least one cell (50a, 50b) in accordance with at least one operating parameter of the warewasher.

A washing appliance has a hydraulic circuit including a tank for storing a predetermined amount of liquid, and a heating element inside the tank. The heating element heats the liquid to a predetermined temperature. A water inlet receives water from a water supply network. A descaling apparatus includes a descaler chamber having a housing portion housing a descaler product container containing a descaling agent and a mixing portion containing a mix of water and a predetermined amount of the descaling agent. The housing portion is fluidly connected to the mixing portion and an inlet pipe fluidly connecting a water inlet to the descaler chamber. The descaling apparatus also includes an outlet pipe that drains the mix of water and descaling agent from the mixing portion and provides it to the tank and a spraying element in the mixing portion that sprays water from the inlet pipe towards the housing portion.
