DEVICES AND METHODS FOR DELIVERING AND/OR RECEIVING FLUID
The present invention generally relates to collecting, determining and/or transmitting information associated with the process of receiving bodily fluid through a device opening and/or delivering substances to a subject. In one aspect, the device includes an information collecting portion and a fluid receiving portion. In another aspect, the two portions are constructed and designed to attach to one another. In one embodiment, actuation of one of the portions causes the other portion to actuate. Methods of time keeping and information transmission are also discussed.
Systems and methods for real-time sweat sampling and analysis
Systems and methods for continuous real-time sweat sampling and analysis are disclosed. In one case, a sweat collection device and method of using the same are provided. The sweat collecting device has a main body with a sweat-collecting surface that is placed adjacent the person's skin. A sweat collecting tube is provided. The first end of the sweat collecting tube is joined to a bore in the main body of the device and the second end extends outward therefrom. In another case, a sweat collection article and method of collecting sweat from a person's skin using the sweat collection article are provided. The sweat collection article includes: a sweat collecting tube placed adjacent to the person's skin, and at least one piece of flexible material that has an adhesive that adheres the article to the person's skin and is positioned to overlie one end of the tube. In both cases, the second end of the sweat collecting tube is in fluid communication with an instrument such as a mass spectrometer that analyzes the sweat on a real-time basis. The systems and methods may further include a device for removing salt from the sweat that is arranged so that the sweat is transported to the device prior to being transported to the instrument for analyzing the sweat.
DEVICES, METHODS, AND SYSTEMS TO COLLECT, STORE, AND ANALYZE CHEMICAL SUBSTANCES
Collection devices, systems, and methods include those for collecting volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and/or other chemical substances from a target area of a subject’s anatomy (e.g., a subject’s skin, a wound on a subject, etc.). In some cases, the collector may have a collection component including an adsorbent material. The collector may be used with a pump. The pump may be configured to draw a fluid flow containing one or more chemical substances from a target area on a subject’s anatomy through the collection component. The collection component may be configured to collect at least some of the chemical substances from the fluid flow as the flow passes through the collection component.
Lateral flow assay device
The present invention provides a diagnostic kit for detecting the presence or quantity of one or more test analytes within a test sample taken from a body surface of a mammal, the diagnostic kit comprising: a separate insert for a lateral flow device (200, 411) comprising a membrane (201) fixed to a rigid support (202) and, the separate insert being configured to obtain the test sample; a lateral-flow assay device configured (300, 400) to accept the separate insert (200, 411); a securing member (210) configured to releasably attach (211) the separate insert to a body surface of a mammal (213); wherein the securing member (210) comprise an expandable layer (212) configured to apply pressure to the separate insert (200, 411) thereby pressing the separate insert (200, 411) against the body surface of the mammal (213).
Wearable biofluid volume and composition measurement system
A wearable biofluid volume and composition system includes a microfluidic flexible fluid capture substrate having a microfluidic channel configured as a sweat collection channel and is configured to be worn on a human body and to collect and analyze biofluid. The microfluidic flexible fluid capture substrate further has a plurality of conductive traces and electrodes. An electronic module is attached to the microfluidic flexible fluid capture substrate and is configured to measure and analyze data from the biofluid collected by the microfluidic flexible fluid capture substrate and to transmit the analyzed data to a smart device.
SWEAT SENSOR PATCH
A sweat sensor patch of the present disclosure is a sweat sensor patch attached to a skin of a user and used, and includes: an opening formed layer which has a first surface and a second surface which face in opposite directions, and includes an opening penetrating in a thickness direction from the first surface to the second surface; an electrode layer formed on an inner wall surface of the opening; a porous layer which is stacked on the second surface of the opening formed layer and is formed to cover the opening; and a porous pillar which extends in the thickness direction of the opening formed layer within the opening and is connected with the porous layer.
LIQUID COLLECTOR
An embodiment of the present disclosure provides a liquid collector that collects liquid, the liquid collector including: a flow passage member including a flow passage that connects one end and other end of the flow passage member; a contact member that is disposed at the one end of the flow passage member, that includes an elastic material, and that is configured to come into contact with a target from which liquid is to be collected; and a container that receives the liquid discharged from the flow passage at the other end of the flow passage member.
