Stents and methods for managing passage of material through a body lumen

The present disclosure relates generally to stents and methods for managing passage of material through a body lumen. In some embodiments, a medical stent may include a stent body defined by a hollow tubular elongate structure extending along a central axis, the stent body including a first portion and a second portion. The medical stent may further include a control region between the first and second portions, wherein in a first configuration the hollow tubular elongate structure of the control region is in a closed, twisted configuration, and wherein in a second configuration the hollow tubular elongate structure of the control region is in an open, expanded configuration.

SYSTEM FOR OCCLUSION OF LEFT ATRIAL APPENDAGE

A device for occluding an atrial appendage includes a catheter-deliverable epicardial implant that is detachably secured to a delivery device. The implant includes an inflatable cuff that is positionable about the atrial appendage to an extent that, when adjustably inflated, the cuff physiologically occludes the atrial appendage. Such occlusion addresses health risks associated with atrial fibrillation and cardiac rhythm disorder.

INFLATABLE BARIATRIC CLAMP

A bariatric clamp may include substrate members overmolded in polymer forming first and second elongated portions, a bight portion having a flexible hinge, one or more inflatable portions disposed at least partially along interior sections of the first and second elongated portions; and a port coupled to at least one of the inflatable portions and configured to adjust inflation of the inflatable portions. The inflatable portions are provided to assist in retaining the clamp in a closed position to partition the stomach and to adjust a pressure of the clamp when partitioning the stomach.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR OOCYTE RETRIEVAL FROM FALLOPIAN TUBES

An oocytes or ovum retrieval device is disclosed. The device may include a retrieval catheter dimensioned for transvaginal insertion into a cervical canal and for advancing distally into a fallopian tube and the ampulla of a female mammal. The retrieval catheter may include one or more fluid delivery lumens having a fluid delivery port for delivering a flushing fluid into said fallopian tube, an at least one aspiration opening in fluid connection with an internal aspiration lumen of said retrieval catheter, wherein the size of the at least one aspiration opening is determined based on a size of oocytes or ovum.

REVERSIBLE ENDOLUMINAL OCCLUSION DEVICE FOR HEALING OF COLORECTAL ANASTOMOSIS

Disclosed herein are apparatus embodiments and methods for using same that facilitate occlusion of a lumen in a subject. In a particular example, the apparatus is configured for occluding a portion of the lower GI tract (e.g. colon). Further, the apparatus is configured for placement in the lumen and insufflation to secure within the lumen such that the apparatus remains in place without the need for uncomfortable conduits or tools extending out of the patient. In a particular method embodiment, the apparatus is useful for occluding a lumen following a surgical procedure such as an anastomosis.

INTRODUCER FOR UTERINE TAMPONADE ASSEMBLY WITH ECHOGENIC ELEMENT AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME

A device for use with a uterine tamponade balloon catheter apparatus, such as the Bakri postpartum hemorrhage balloon, is disclosed. The device comprises a stylet comprising a hub at its proximal end and an atraumatic tip at its distal end. The device is configured to be removably coupled to the tamponade balloon catheter apparatus to aid in the insertion and positioning of the tamponade balloon catheter within the uterine cavity, allowing the balloon to function as intended for the control and management of postpartum hemorrhage and uterine bleeding. The tamponade balloon catheter includes an echogenic element to aid in visualization by ultrasound during insertion and use. Methods of use of the device are also disclosed.

Apparatus for delivering a device to a hollow organ

An apparatus for delivery of a device into a hollow organ and a method of delivery are provided. The apparatus includes an elongated tube having proximal and distal openings and being configured for carrying the device on a distal portion thereof. The apparatus further includes a tubular cover for covering at least a portion of the device when mounted on the elongated tube, the tubular cover being radially elastic and axially non-elastic. The tubular cover is retrievable into the elongated tube through the distal opening, such that when the device is mounted on the elongated tube and covered by the tubular cover, retrieval of the tubular cover into the elongated tube uncovers the device for delivery into the hollow organ.

IMPLANTABLE MEDICAL DEVICE AND ASSEMBLY

Disclosed is a false lumen closure assembly for closing a false lumen in a body vessel including a compressed false lumen occluder, a carrier catheter and a retractable sheath. The compressed false lumen occluder includes a stent graft including at least one occlusive barrier across the stent graft to occlude blood flow through an interior of the stent graft. The carrier catheter carries the false lumen occluder and extends from a proximal end proximal of the false lumen occluder to a distal end distal of the false lumen occluder, and passes the false lumen occluder exteriorly of the stent graft. The compressed false lumen occluder and at least part of the carrier catheter are disposed in a lumen of the retractable sheath.

Methods and devices for fallopian tube diagnostics

Methods and devices for performing minimally invasive procedures useful for Fallopian tube diagnostics are disclosed. In at least one embodiment, the proximal os of the Fallopian tube is accessed via an intrauterine approach; an introducer catheter is advanced to cannulate and form a fluid tight seal with the proximal os of the Fallopian tube; a second catheter inside the introducer catheter is provided to track the length of the Fallopian tube and out into the abdominal cavity; a balloon at the end of the second catheter is inflated and the second catheter is retracted until the balloon seals the distal os of the Fallopian tube; irrigation is performed substantially over the length of the Fallopian tube; and the irrigation fluid is recovered for cytology or cell analysis.
