Heated endovascular catheter injection device

An embodiment includes a system comprising: a catheter; an optic fiber having a long axis and a short axis that is orthogonal to the long axis; first and second radiopaque elements coupled to the optic fiber; a first wire coupled to the optic fiber and extending from the first radiopaque element to the second radiopaque element; a fluid; wherein (a)(i) the first wire wraps at least partially around an exterior surface of the optic fiber; (a)(ii) an outer diameter of the first wire and an outer diameter of the optic fiber are collectively less than an inner diameter of the catheter, and (a)(iii) the first wire is configured to center the optic fiber within the catheter within a plane orthogonal to the long axis.

Left atrial appendage occluder device

The present disclosure describes a device that can be implanted into the left atrial appendage for occlusion. The device can prevent or reduce thrombus formation in this anatomic region for patients with atrial fibrillation. This device includes a patient-specific inflatable device that represents a patient's anatomy or morphological class. The inflatable device can be designed by imaging (e.g., computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging) the patient's anatomy. Through a catheter (or surgically), the inflatable device can be filled with an inflation fluid to occlude the appendage in a patient-specific fashion.

COMPOSITE MATERIALS AND EMBOLIZATION METHODS

Embolization compositions and methods for controlling undesired bleeding and other treatments are provided. Preferred composition may comprise (a) a crosslinked hydrogel material; and (b) a fiber material, wherein the composition comprises a plurality of macropores; and the hydrogel material and fiber material are bonded by covalent and/or non-covalent bonds.

DEVICES AND METHODS FOR ACCESSING THE INTRADURAL COMPARTMENT AND TREATING INTRACRANIAL HEMATOMA

Devices and methods are described for a minimally invasive procedure offering immediate relief of brain compression and prevention of subdural hematoma re-accumulation. For example, this disclosure describes devices and methods for embolization of bleeding branch vessels of the middle meningeal artery and subdural hematoma drainage in a single endovascular intervention using multimodal catheter-based technology.

Obesity treatment devices, systems, and methods

Various devices, systems, and methods that can be used in the treatment of obesity and related illnesses are disclosed. In some instances, the cecum of an obese patient is distended to a pathophysiological size for a therapeutically effective period. The distention may be achieved by introduction of an object that is of foreign origin relative to the body of the patient into the cecum of the patient. In some instances, the distention is achieved by a medical device that transitions from an undeployed state, in which the medical device is introduced into the cecum of the patient, to an expanded state in which the medical device distends the cecum by an amount sufficient to trigger a colo-gastric brake in the patient.

DEVICES AND METHODS FOR LUNG VOLUME REDUCTION

Methods, devices, and systems for mechanically reducing the volume of the lung. Some embodiments include endobronchially positioning an anchoring device within a lung, the anchoring device comprising at least a distal anchor, expanding at least a portion of the distal anchor to anchor the distal anchor against lung lumen tissue, and tensioning at least a portion of the device to reduce the volume of the lung.

09839555 · 2017-12-12 · ·

Applicator for delivering an occluding compound in a fallopian tube includes a lumen extending between a proximal end connectable to a dispenser for containing uncured occluding compound, and a distal end. A spiral wire with a first end is connected to the distal end of the lumen and a free second end. A disconnecting member is configured to disconnect the spiral wire from the distal end. An actuator is configured to actuate the disconnecting member. The distal end of the lumen can be inserted into the fallopian tube. The spiral wire functions as a guide wire. The curable compound embeds the spiral wire. The actuator can be actuated to disconnect the embedded spiral wire from the distal end of the lumen.

Occlusion devices and methods of making and using same

The present disclosure provides improved medical devices for occluding a left atrial appendage. In one embodiment, the medical device includes a temperature activated memory shape foam that is constructed to transition from a first collapsed conformation to a second expanded conformation upon an increase in temperature such that it can expand to provide an occlusive benefit inside a left atrial appendage. In another embodiment the medical device includes a flowable thermoset that is injected into the left atrial appendage where is it cured so that it may assume the conformation of the left atrial appendage and provide an occlusive benefit.

DEVICE USEFUL FOR LOCALIZED THERAPEUTIC DELIVERY WITHOUT FLOW OBSTRUCTION

Medical devices and methods are provided. In some aspects, devices useful for applying therapy locally within a body vessel are disclosed, the devices having a stent graft with flared end regions with a catheter providing fluid communication to the outer side of the narrower, intermediate region of the stent graft. Kits and systems including the same devices and methods are also disclosed.
