WEARABLE SAFETY TOURNIQUET ASSEMBLY FOR CHAINSAW CHAPS
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a wearable safety tourniquet assembly. The assembly provides a safety tourniquet that circumferentially integrates into a pair of chainsaw chaps for applying pressure to an injured limb. The safety tourniquet has a resilient strap that circumferentially integrates into the limb sections of the chaps. The strap is configured to wrap around the limb of the wearer directly, and without separation from the chaps. The safety tourniquet also has one or more tensioning mechanisms that are operatively attached to the strap. In one possible embodiment, the assembly provides an eclectic assortment of tensioning mechanisms to tighten and loosen the strap around the limb. In other embodiments, the tensioning mechanism can be interchanged to accommodate different pressure requirements, spacing around the chaps, and material and budgetary parameters. A medical kit and/or a sanitization pouch can detachably attach to the chaps, for easy retrieval thereof.
Medical tourniquet
A compression assembly for a medical tourniquet comprises a strap, a windlass and a buckle assembly and employs a retainer which retains the windlass upon rotation to apply pressure to a limb. The retainer has a pair of C-shaped portions which retain the windlass and a cross piece which is captured by a mounting strip. The buckle assembly preferably comprises a pair of parallel bars, one of which mounts a clasp which engageably retains a D-shaped ring. The strap is pulled through the D-shaped ring and secured in a taut engagement about a limb. The tourniquet is cooperatively configured so that only a relatively small additional rotation of the windlass is typically required to apply the final occluding pressure.
METHODS AND MECHANISMS FOR MAINTAINING AN ELECTRO-ACTIVE POLYMER IN A PRE-STRETCH STATE AND USES THEREOF
In some embodiments, the present invention is directed to an actuator which includes at least the following: a pre-stretched electro-active polymer film being pre-stretched in a single or biaxial planar directions; at least one first semi-stiff conductor attached to a first surface of the pre-stretched electro-active polymer film, wherein the first surface is parallel to the single or biaxial planar stretch directions; at least one second semi-stiff conductor attached to a second surface of the pre-stretched electro-active polymer film, wherein the second surface is opposite to the first surface; where the semi-stiff conductors are configured to: fix the pre-stretched electro-active polymer film in a pre-stretched state and allow the pre-stretched electro-active polymer film to expand; a pair of mechanical connectors coupled to each end of an active region of the pre-stretched electro-active polymer film.
Smart tourniquet
A smart tourniquet for self-administering a medication is provided. When a patient needs to inject themselves with a medication, intravenously, called an “infusion,” the patient wears the smart tourniquet around their arm and tightens the device. While the patient is using the smart tourniquet, the device automatically records the date and time of the infusion, called a “timestamp”. The patient can also use the device to record the dosage or “number of units” taken at the time of the infusion. The smart tourniquet can store the timestamp as well as other related information as a record. At a later time, the patient can recall prior records on the smart tourniquet itself. The smart tourniquet can also be synchronized with an application and the records can be downloaded for review by the patient, nurse or doctor to render accurate and timely care.
Tourniquet
The present disclosure relates to a tourniquet 1 comprising a tension sensor 8 and loop portion 4 ensuring that an intended pressure has been achieved on a body part on which the tourniquet is applied. The tension sensor comprises a plurality of cuts 20 arranged in a predetermined pattern. The present disclosure also relates to a dispenser comprising a plurality of such tourniquets, and a kit comprising a tourniquet.
First at scene trauma treatment
A medical bandaging and tourniquet system for use in dressing puncture wounds is provided. The medical bandaging and tourniquet system includes a primary dressing, a secondary dressing, a band, a tightening buckle, a retaining clip, and a tightening rod. The primary dressing serves as a main wrapping bandage that mounts the secondary dressing and tourniquet components together. The secondary dressing removably attaches to the primary dressing and serves as a bandage that can be installed onto minor wounds. The band connects to the primary dressing, serving as an elastic tourniquet band. The tightening buckle and the retaining clip are connected to the primary dressing. The tightening rod is positioned between the tightening buckle and the retaining clip. The primary dressing straps tightly along a wound though the tightening buckle. The strap is further compressed by turning the tightening rod. The tightening rod can then be secured to the retaining clip.
Tourniquet device
A tourniquet device includes a first jaw having a first tapered tip, and a second jaw having a second tapered tip. The first and second jaws are moveable towards one another to provide a pressure to a member positioned between the jaws. The first tapered tip is offset from the second tapered tip such that the first tapered tip and the second tapered tip are moveable relative to one another in separate planes and the first tapered tip is moveable past the second tapered tip as the first and second jaws are moved towards one another.
Surf leash tourniquet device and related methods
Generally disclosed is a surf leash with a tourniquet device that allows the cord of the surf leash to be convertible into a tourniquet and related methods of use.
Devices and methods for compressing a digit to facilitate removal of a ring
A compression device for freeing a ring trapped on a digit includes a rigid outer body. The rigid outer body includes a digit cavity extending from a cavity opening at a body proximal end of the body towards a body distal end of the body, a fluid inlet, and a fluid flow path fluidly connecting the fluid inlet to one or more inflation chambers positioned in the digit cavity. The body proximal end includes an upper portion, a lower portion, and two laterally spaced-apart side portions. At least one side portion is distally recessed as compared to the upper and lower portions to accommodate an interdigital fold. At least one flexible bladder lines the digit cavity, each flexible bladder defining at least one wall of one of the one or more inflation chambers.
BILATERAL REVERSIBLE VENOUS TOURNIQUET BANDS
Disclosed herein are embodiments for a bilateral reversible disposable tourniquet band. The band tourniquet comprises an elongated member having a flat structure made of a thermoplastic elastomer material. The band has a first surface having a smooth texture, and a second surface having a non-smooth texture comprising a knurled pattern. The elongated member may have a thickness between 0.5 mm and 2 mm.
