Method and apparatus for fixation

The present disclosure relates to fixation devices. Certain embodiments provide a fixation device for insertion into bone. The fixation device includes a body comprising threads along an outer surface of the body. The fixation device includes one or more blades movably coupled to the body. The one or more blades are configured to move between at least a first position and a second position. In the first position, the one or more blades are retracted into the body. In the second position, the one or more blades are deployed out of the body for insertion into the bone.

Femur plate

A femur plate is provided, the femur plate comprising a first end portion anatomically pre-formed to conform to a trochanter region of the femur and a second end portion anatomically pre-formed to conform to a condyle region of the femur, wherein the second end portion comprises at least one first opening configured to receive a bone fastener. The femur plate further comprises an elongate shaft extending from the first end portion to the second end portion, the elongate shaft comprising at least one second opening configured to receive a bone fastener. Furthermore, a periprosthetic implant system comprising the femur plate and a method of implanting the femur plate are provided.

DEVICE FOR THE SELECTIVE BIOLOGICAL SYNTHESIS OF A BONE TISSUE
20230190339 · 2023-06-22 ·

The present invention relates to a device for the selective biological synthesis of a bone tissue arranged to allow the stabilization of a fracture or an osteoporotic bone tissue and for the introduction of medicinal substances for bone diseases.

METHOD, DEVICE, AND SYSTEM FOR SHAVING AND SHAPING OF A JOINT
20170348011 · 2017-12-07 ·

Described herein are methods and devices useful for reaming and shaping the surfaces of a joint in a mammalian body. The reaming and shaping devices and methods are particularly useful in preparation of a joint for a minimally invasive joint replacement or resurfacing, though they may be used as part of any appropriate arthroplasty procedure.

Proximal femur plate system

A bone plate for treating periprosthetic fractures includes a head portion sized and shaped so that, in an operative position, a proximal end thereof aligns with a vastus ridge of a greater trochanter of a femur. The plate also includes a shaft portion extending distally from the head portion. The shaft portion includes offset holes to receive bone fixation elements therethrough. Each of the offset holes includes a first hole positioned on a first side of a longitudinal axis of the plate and a second hole positioned on a second side of the longitudinal axis opposite the first side so that bone fixation elements inserted therethrough extend anterior and posterior of a prosthetic received within the femur. The first and second holes are staggered relative to one another along a length of the shaft portion and extending beyond longitudinal edges of the shaft portion.

This invention relates to a coupling for an orthopaedic device. Also disclosed in an orthopaedic device comprising a coupling of the invention and method for the use of the orthopaedic device. The orthopaedic device finds utility as a bolt apparatus for fixation of bones such as fractures of the femur, although it may be used in any suitable bone.

BONE FIXATION ASSEMBLY
20230165610 · 2023-06-01 · ·

A bone fixation assembly including a first member, a second member and a link member extending between the first member and the second member. The first and second members each including a slot formed in an axial surface of a shaft extending along a longitudinal axis. The link member including a first lateral side being slidably received in the slot of the first member and a second lateral side being slidably received in the slot of the second member.

Plate connection

A bone fixation system includes a first plate including a plate body and a connection portion extending distally therefrom, the connection portion including a positioning tab at a distal end thereof, the connection portion including a first opening extending therethrough and a ramped part, and a second plate including a coupling aperture along a proximal portion thereof, the coupling aperture configured to receive the positioning tab therein, the coupling aperture including a ramped proximal face configured to abut against the ramped part of the second surface of the positioning tab when the positioning tab is inserted into the coupling aperture, the head portion including a second opening extending therethrough. A connection screw configured to extend through the first opening and the second opening to couple the first and second plates together. Tightening the screw translates the ramped proximal face along the ramped part, eliminating a connection gap therebetween.

Cannulated screw probe

Concepts for measuring and monitoring characteristics of osseous tissue are presented. In various embodiments, a monitoring probe may be inserted through a hollow passageway within a cannulated screw during an operation in order to measure characteristics of the osseous tissue in which the cannulated screw is inserted. In various embodiments, the cannulated screw may be inserted into a femoral head, through a physis, and into an epiphysis for stabilization of Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis. During surgical treatment thereof, a pressure transducer may be inserted into the osseous tissue through the cannulated screw in order to monitor epiphysis perfusion through the femoral head.
