The inner sleeve may include an inner central body, an inner proximal end part and an inner distal end part integrally connected to one another, and an inner channel extending along the entire inner proximal end part and along a substantial part of the inner central body. The inner sleeve may include, in the inner proximal end of the inner sleeve, a lateral engagement element, and an axial engagement element for releasably engaging a surgical screw.
Expended tab reinforcement sleeve
A sleeve can be adapted to reinforce a bone anchor, and can include a body, a lock, and an actuator. The body can include a first sleeve arm and a second sleeve arm, where each can extend longitudinally along opposing sides of a longitudinal bore open at a distal end of the sleeve. The lock can be coupled to the body and releasably securable to a channel of a head of the bone anchor to secure the sleeve to the anchor.
BONE FIXATION SYSTEM AND ELEMENTS THEREOF
A fixation system (900) for the fixation of a first bone fragment (932) relative to a second bone fragment (934); the fixation system (900) comprising at least one first bone engagement element engagable with the first bone fragment (932), wherein the first bone engagement element has an elongate body portion, a proximal end, a distal end, and a passageway extending through the body portion from the proximal end to the distal end, at least one further bone engagement element engageable with the second bone fragment (934) and having a tensile element (920) securement portion for affixing a tensile element (920) to the further bone engagement element; wherein the tensile element (920) passing the first bone engagement element when engaged with the first bone fragment (932) is fixed relative to the further bone engagement element when engaged with the second bone fragment (934) by the tensile element (920) securement portion; such that the first bone fragment (932) is affixed relative to the second bone fragment (934) from tensile stress in the tensile element (920).
Orthopedic break-off screws, tools for inserting such screws, and related systems and methods
A system for inserting an anchor member into bone includes a receiving member and an anchor member receivable within the receiving member. The receiving member is elongate along a longitudinal axis and has a proximal end and a distal end spaced from the proximal end along the longitudinal axis. The receiving member has an internal surface that defines a transmission element. The anchor member includes an engagement element configured to rotatably engage the transmission element such that the transmission element is configured to drive the anchor member in a distal direction relative to the transmission element so as to rotatably decouple the engagement element from the transmission element. The distal direction extends from the proximal end to the distal end of the receiving member and is parallel with the longitudinal axis.
SACROILIAC JOINT FUSION SYSTEM
A sacroiliac joint screw has a screw body having a head and a treaded shank with a self-drilling cutting tip. The screw body is cannulated and configured to receive a Steinmann pin for the purpose of a minimally invasive approach (MIS) for delivery to the sacroiliac joint (SI) while minimizing soft tissue damage. The self-drilling cutting tip creates a pilot hole. The threaded shank has a plurality of spiral cutting flutes, the spiral cutting flutes extend along a length of the threaded shank and are configured to provide a constant self-tapping feature. A plurality of bone harvesting windows are positioned in the spiral cutting flutes and are configured to pull in bone as the screw is advanced into the joint.
TELESCOPIC NAIL AND ASSOCIATED PERFORATING TOOL
Telescopic nail (2) for the treatment of fractures or deformations of long bones, as for example in the case of osteogenesis imperfecta or pseudo-arthrosis. comprising: a hollow stem (2); a rod (10) telescopically inserted into said hollow stem (2); a first fastening element (20) coupled to an end of said hollow stem (2) for fixing to a first long bone end; a second fastening element (30) coupled to an end of said rod (10) for fixing to a second long bone end.
Advantageously, one end of said hollow stem (2) is provided with coupling means (40) for coupling to an end of a tool which can be inserted into a cavity formed in the bone for insertion of the nail.
EXTENDED TAB REINFORCEMENT SLEEVE
A sleeve can be adapted to reinforce a bone anchor, and can include a body, a lock, and an actuator. The body can include a first sleeve arm and a second sleeve arm, where each can extend longitudinally along opposing sides of a longitudinal bore open at a distal end of the sleeve. The lock can be coupled to the body and releasably securable to a channel of a head of the bone anchor to secure the sleeve to the anchor.
PIVOTAL BONE ANCHOR ASSEMBLY HAVING TWIST-IN-PLACE INSERT WITH FORCED INTERFERENCE DOWNWARD DISPLACEMENT
A receiver assembly includes a receiver having a first channel, a through-space with internal recesses beneath a guide and advancement structure, and internal ridges projecting inwardly below the internal recesses. The assembly also includes an insert having a second channel, side structures protruding laterally outward below top surfaces, and opposed lower extensions extending downwardly below the second channel, with the insert being loadable into the through-space with the second channel in non-alignment with the first channel. The insert is the non-threadably rotatable within the through-space to align the second channel with the first channel and to move the side structures into the internal recesses above the internal ridges, with subsequent downward displacement of the insert within the through-space causing the opposed lower extensions to engage the capture head of a bone anchor with a frictional engagement that inhibits the bone anchor from moving upward within the through-space.
BONE FIXATION IMPLANT AND METHOD OF IMPLANTATION
Provided is a nested screw assembly and a related method for fusing a joint between two bones using the nested screw assembly, where the nested screw assembly includes a cannulated outer screw and an inner screw.
