Kyphoplasty system and method
A kyphoplasty system includes various instruments which can be selectively used in a surgical theater (e.g., during a surgical operation on a patient) or a surgical training environment. The kyphoplasty system can include one or more of a kyphoplasty apparatus, a prone table mat, a connector system, a bone introducer needle, and a biopsy device. The kyphoplasty system may also include a training system for use in the training environment.
INJECTION DEVICE SUITABLE FOR INJECTING PARTICLES INTO A BONE CAVITY
An injection device for injecting particles into a bone cavity includes a reservoir, an injection needle having a tubular shape around a main axis and a proximal end fixed to a base of the reservoir and open to the reservoir, and a distal end opposite to the proximal end, a worm screw movable in rotation inside the injection needle and extending at least from the proximal end up to at least the distal end of the injection needle, and an actuator coupled to the worm screw to drive it in rotation.
Angulated rings and bonded foils for use with balloons for fusion and dynamic stabilization
An inflatable and implantable balloon for treatment of degenerative disc disease, bones, lesions, spinal deformities and spinal motion segment instabilities. The balloon is comprised of adjustable and expandable volumes. Further disclosed are methods of forming, inserting, expanding, and implanting the multi-volume balloon for proper placement and stabilization of the spinal lesion or disease. Still further disclosed are kits for aligning and stabilizing elements of the spine.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR USING AND MONITORING SPINAL IMPLANTS
Spinal device/implants are provided, comprising a spinal device/implant and a sensor.

Inflatable medical devices
Inflatable medical devices and methods for making and using the same are disclosed. The inflatable medical devices can be medical balloons. The balloons can be configured to have a through-lumen or no through-lumen and a wide variety of geometries. The device can have a high-strength, non-compliant, fiber-reinforced, multi-layered wall. The inflatable medical device can be used for angioplasty, kyphoplasty, percutaneous aortic valve replacement, or other procedures described herein.
Bone cement augmentation procedure
A method for planning the insertion of bone cement into an orthopedic void of a vertebra. A three dimensional preoperative image of the vertebra is used and the voxels are analyzed to provide the voxel absorption levels. The absorption levels are transformed into mechanical properties of regions of the vertebra, such that a three dimensional mesh of the mechanical properties of the vertebra is generated. An entry point and an entry angle are selected on the vertebra, through which to inject bone cement into the void. Then, using the known viscosity of the bone cement, and using the entry point and entry angle, a finite elements analysis may be performed on the mesh to simulate the propagation of the bone cement into the orthopedic void. The simulation is repeated using different operational parameters until said propagation of said bone cement is deemed satisfactory.
INTEGRATED TARGETED KYPHOPLASTY SYSTEM
An integrated targeted kyphoplasty system includes a piercing head, a tube body and a tube body handle. The tube body has an end connected to the piercing head and is provided with a balloon and a guider at an end of the balloon, and another end connected to the tube body handle and provided with a guide knob for controlling the guider to be bent and a pressure pump connector communicating the balloon. The piercing head is provided with a cement outlet, a cement channel is in center of the tube body, and the tube body handle is provided with a cement inlet. The cement outlet, cement channel and cement inlet communicate with each other. The device requires for only one piercing to complete entire KP surgical treatment without changing any tools, greatly decreasing radiation exposure rate of the patient during operation and the pain caused by multiple operations.
CEMENT PACKING KYPHOPLASTY SURGICAL DEVICE AND METHOD
Apparatus and associated methods relate to a balloon kyphoplasty surgical device comprising an extrusion tube having internal fluid channels and a support wire, a port arrangement positioned on a proximal end of the extrusion tube and a balloon arrangement positioned on a distal end of the extrusion tube, the balloon arrangement resulting in a cubic shape when inflated by the port arrangement. An exemplary implementation may be configured with multiple inner balloons housed in an outer balloon to create a specific shape. Some designs may be configured with multiple ports designed to individually and independently inflate each inner balloon and outer balloon. The outer balloon may be inflatable. The outer balloon may be sealed off, constraining inflation of the inner balloons to create a cubic-like shape when the inner balloons are inflated within the sealed outer balloon, resulting in improved vertebral structure stabilization by increased surface area lifting the bone.
Inflatable bone tamp and method for use of inflatable bone tamp
An inflatable bone tamp including a first balloon portion and a second balloon portion is provided. Each of the first balloon portion and the second balloon portion include interior cavities that can be filled with liquid, and these interior cavities communicate with one another via a valve. The valve can limit or restrict flow of the liquid between the cavities. As such, the first balloon portion and the second balloon portion can be sequentially inflated with the liquid through use of the valve.
