A bone screw, for drawing first and second bone fragments together, includes a shaft having a distal section and a proximal section. The distal section has a first external male screw thread and a minor diameter. The proximal section has a second external male screw thread. A major diameter of the distal section is larger than a major diameter of the proximal section. The bone screw includes a sleeve that has an internal female screw thread configured to mate with the second male screw thread. A distal portion of the sleeve has an outer diameter. The outer diameter is equal to or smaller than the minor diameter of the distal section of the shaft.

A device may include an outer sleeve with a hollow interior, and an inner sleeve with a hollow interior to couple axially and slidingly. The invention relates to a bone anchor for triangular iliosacral osteosynthesis. The bone anchor includes an ilium screw having a first longitudinal direction and an iliosacral screw having a second longitudinal direction. The ilium screw, in a thread-free portion, has a preferably elongated-hole-like through-opening transversely to the first longitudinal direction, and the iliosacral screw has such a smaller outer diameter in relation to the ilium screw that the iliosacral screw can be guided through the through-opening and can be screwed proceeding from the ilium into the sacrum, through the ilium screw.

System and method for inserting an intramedullary nail

An intramedullary (IM) nail insertion assembly includes an IM nail extending longitudinally from a proximal end to a distal end. A proximal portion of the IM nail has an internal threading. The IM nail insertion assembly also includes a connecting screw extending longitudinally from a proximal end to a distal end. A distal portion of the connecting screw has an external threading for engaging the internal threading of the TM nail. One of the proximal portion of the IM nail and the distal portion of the connecting screw has a feature to resist a disengagement of the proximal portion from the distal portion.
