Fistula treatment device
A fistula treatment system comprises a guide such as a guide coil 1101 which is adapted to extend partially around a tissue tract and an implant element 1102. The implant element 1102 is activated to draw tissue surrounding the tract inwardly.
Devices and Methods for Repairing a Pathological Connection Between Two Anatomical Structures
A device is disclosed for occluding an anatomical passage between first and second anatomical structures. The device includes a tip portion having a proximal element connected to a distal element through a member. The proximal element and/or distal element is movable axially along the tip portion while the other element preferably remains fixed in place. A handle is coupled to a proximal end of the tip portion through a shaft. The tip portion is positioned across the anatomical passage so that the proximal element occludes a first side of the passage and the distal element occludes a second side of the passage. A locking structure, such as a nut, is positioned or crimped against the proximal element, and, once done, the tip portion is released at the occluded passage.
Expandable introducer sheath to preserve guidewire access
An introducer sheath is described. The introducer sheath may include a tubular body. The tubular body may extend from a distal end toward a proximal end. The tubular body may include a lumen. The lumen may at least partially be defined by a wall. A channel may be disposed within the wall. The channel may be configured to receive a guidewire. The tubular body may include an expandable portion expandable to increase a cross-sectional area of the lumen.
Clip applier and methods of use
A system having an elongate assembly, an expandable assembly having a fixed end region and a movable end region, the expandable assembly selectively transitioning between an expanded state and an unexpanded state with movement of the movable end region towards the fixed end region, and an advancement aid extending distally from the expandable assembly.
Apparatus and methods for occlusion of blood vessels
Apparatus and methods are provided for occluding blood vessels and other anatomical structures. Occlusion devices are delivered percutaneously and extraluminally through a small gauge needle and include expandable elements that are deployable on opposite sides of a target vessel to be occluded. When positioned about the vessel the elements are expanded and brought together to compress and occlude the vessel. Embodiments include those adapted for temporary as well as permanent use.
Device for Closing a Perforation in a Wall of a Cavity in a Human or Animal Body
The invention relates to a device (10) for closing a perforation (21) in a wall (2), the closing device (10) having closing means (11) comprising: a central portion (14), a first end (12) having a first hooking means (12′) and a second end (13) having a second hooking means (13′), the two ends (12,13) being arranged on either side of the central portion (14),
the closing means (11) being made of a shape memory material and having a structure allowing a variation in the relative position of the hooking means (12′, 13′) with respect to one another, depending on the state of compression of the central portion (14).
Clips and applicator for tissue closure
Surgical clips and surgical applicators used in performing rapid tissue closure in either minimally invasive surgeries or traditional open procedures are provided. In one example approach, a surgical clip comprises opposing sides extending from a top portion and terminating at tips positioned below the top portion. The resting position of the clip is its closed position. Edges of the top portion and the opposing sides form opposing faces perpendicular to the opposing sides. The opposing faces are angled inwardly towards each other at a region of the faces adjacent to the top portion. Grooves are formed in each of the opposing sides. The grooves are configured to engage inwardly turned tracks of a clip applicator such that, when a force is applied to the clip, the opposing sides bend outwardly away from each other to place the clip in an intermediate open position.
Surgical implant
A surgical implant for fixing a soft tissue to a bone comprising a staple and a plate. The staple and the plate are positionable on an instrument in such a way that the plate may be manipulated with the instrument to hold the soft tissue against the bone and in such a way that the staple is fixable to the bone with the plate positioned between a bridge of the staple and the soft tissue when legs of the staple are driven through the plate and into the bone.
MEDICAL IMPLANT DELIVERY SYSTEM AND RELATED METHODS
A fastener delivery tool may comprise a sheath assembly having at least one position retention member proximate a distal end of the sheath assembly, and a handle assembly coupled to a proximal end of the sheath assembly, the handle assembly comprising a housing, a trigger handle, and an insert connector. An external force applied to the trigger handle may cause displacement of the trigger handle relative to a rest position, and displacement of the trigger handle from the rest position within a first displacement range may impart a first amount of force on the insert connector relative to the applied external force and displacement of the trigger handle from the rest position within a second displacement range may impart a second amount of force on the insert connector relative to the applied external force, with the first amount of force being greater than the second amount of force.
IMPLANT FOR CLOSING AN OPENING IN TISSUE
An implant 801 for closing an opening in tissue such as a fistula or a sinus comprises a coil having a substantially uniform outer diameter. The coil forms an internal passage having a diameter that tapers from a distal end to a proximal end. The implant 801 may be delivered using a non-tapered driver coil 820.
