In one embodiment, an ablation system includes a catheter including at least one electrode, and configured to be inserted into a chamber of a heart of a living subject, an ablation power generator configured to apply an electrical signal to the at least one electrode to ablate tissue of the chamber, at least one body surface patch configured to be applied to a body surface of the living subject, and provide at least one position signal, and a processor configured to compute an index of a measurement of diaphragm movement responsively to the at least one position signal, and perform an action responsively to the computed index.

Estimating a temperature during ablation

A method for use with an intra-body probe, a distal end of which includes an ablation electrode and a temperature sensor, is described. While (i) the ablation electrode is driving an ablating current into tissue of a subject, and (ii) fluid is passed from the distal end of the intra-body probe at a fluid-flow rate, a processor receives a temperature sensed by the temperature sensor. The processor estimates a temperature of the tissue, based at least on the sensed temperature and at least one parameter selected from the group consisting of: the fluid-flow rate, and a parameter of the ablating current. The processor generates an output in response to the estimated temperature. Other embodiments are also described.

A method includes, inserting a catheter into a cavity of a patient organ for performing a medical procedure, the cavity is of a given cavity type. A partial anatomical mapping of the cavity is performed by visiting one or more anatomical points on a surface of the cavity, using the catheter. Based on the partial anatomical mapping, a Graphical User Interface (GUI) template is selected, which is specified for applying the medical procedure to the given cavity type. The selected GUI template is presented to a user for performing the medical procedure in the cavity.

Devices, systems, and methods for treating cardiac arrhythmia are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, devices, systems, and methods disclosed herein deliver interrogating energy to tissue at a position on a wall of an anatomical structure of a patient. If the devices, systems, and methods disclosed herein detect a change in electrical activity of the anatomical structure in response to the interrogating energy, the devices, systems, and methods disclosed herein can apply irreversible therapy to the tissue. In some embodiments, the change in electrical activity corresponds to slowing or termination of a detected arrhythmia.

Testing electrode quality

A system includes a signal generator, configured to pass a generated signal, which has two different generated frequencies, through a circuit including an intrabody electrode. The system further includes a processor, configured to identify, while the generated signal is passed through the circuit, a derived frequency, which is derived from the generated frequencies, on the circuit, and to generate, in response to identifying the derived frequency, an output indicating a flaw in the electrode. Other embodiments are also described.

Digital image analysis for robotic installation of surgical implants

Computer-implemented digital image analysis methods, apparatuses, and systems for robotic installation of surgical implants are disclosed. A disclosed apparatus plans a route within an anatomy of a patient from an incision site to a surgical implant site for robotic installation of a surgical implant. The apparatus uses digital imaging data to identify less-invasive installation paths and determine the dimensions of the surgical implant components being used. The apparatus segments the surgical implant into surgical implant subcomponents and modifies the surgical implant subcomponents, such that they can be inserted using the identified less-invasive installation paths.
