Medical interfaces and other medical devices, systems, and methods for performing eye exams
A mask for performing an eye exam of a subject includes one or more optically transparent sections for transmitting an incident light beam therethrough and incident on the subject's eye. In some embodiments, the one or more optically transparent sections are coated with an anti-reflective coating configured to reduce reflection of the incident light beam by the one or more optically transparent sections. In some embodiments, the one or more optically transparent sections may have a portion thereof that is tilted with respect to the incident light beam when the mask is optically interfaced with the docking portion of an ophthalmic instrument, such that the incident light beam forms a finite angle of incidence with respect to the corresponding portion of the optically transparent sections.
INFRARED TELE-VIDEO-OCULOGRAPHY FOR REMOTE EVALUATION OF EYE MOVEMENTS
A system to perform remote oculography includes light-occluding goggles configured to be worn by a patient. The light-occluding goggles include an infrared camera positioned to capture one or more first images of a first eye of the patient. The light-occluding goggles also include a display positioned such that it is viewable by a second eye of the patient. The display is configured to display a pattern for the patient to view. The light-occluding goggles also include a sensor configured to detect information regarding a position of a head of the patient. The system also includes a visible light camera configured to capture one or more second images of the patient as the patient wears the light-occluding goggles.
Subjective optometry apparatus
A subjective optometry apparatus includes an optometry unit having an optical member, being located in front of a subject eye, and changing optical characteristics of a target light flus with using the optical member, and a measurement optical system that has a light projecting optical system for applying measurement light emitted from a measurement light source to a fundus of the subject eye through the optometry unit, and a light receiving optical system in which a detector receives reflected light of the measurement light reflected on the fundus of the subject eye through the optometry unit, and that objectively measures the optical characteristics of the subject eye. An optical axis of the measurement optical system is set to be off-axis from an optical axis of the optical member in the optometry unit.
Device and method for capturing, analyzing, and sending still and video images of the fundus during examination using an ophthalmoscope
The present invention is directed to a medical imaging binocular indirect ophthalmoscope with onboard sensor array and computational processing unit, enabling simultaneous or time-delayed viewing and collaborative review of photographs or videos from an eye examination. The invention also claims a method for photographing and integrating information associated with the images, videos, or other data generated from the eye examination.
IMAGING SYSTEM, IMAGING METHOD, AND COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
An imaging system (10) includes: iris imaging means (1) for photographing an iris of a subject; first irradiation means (2a) for applying light to the subject; and second irradiation means (2b) for applying light to the subject in such a manner that an angle between an optical axis of the light emitted from the second irradiation means (2b) and an optical axis of the iris imaging means (1) is larger than an angle between an optical axis of the light emitted from the first irradiation means (2a) and the optical axis of the iris imaging means (1).
RETINAL IMAGING SYSTEM
Provided is a wearable fundus camera configured to be worn as a headset by a human, the wearable fundus camera comprising: an infrared light source configured to output infrared light to be directed at a retina of the human; an image sensor configured to capture infrared images depicting a retina of an eye of the human under illumination from the infrared light source without a pupil of the eye being dilated with mydriatics; and an eye cuff configured to be biased against a face of the human and occlude at least some ambient light from reaching the image sensor.
Contact arrangement for eye examining instrument, eye examining instrument and method of contacting between eye and eye examining instrument
A contact arrangement for an eye examining instrument is located between an eye that is examined and a section of the eye examining instrument, the section is directed toward the eye that is examined. The contact arrangement is disposable, biocompatible with skin and made of biodegradable material. A first side of the contact arrangement is set in contact with the skin around the eye that is examined. A second side of the contact arrangement is attached with a counterpart of the eye examining instrument in a tool-free manner without touching with hands to the contact arrangement, the attachment being releasable, at the section, which is directed toward the eye that is examined.
ILLUMINATION OF AN EYE FUNDUS USING NON-SCANNING COHERENT LIGHT
Imaging various regions of the eye is important for both clinical diagnostic and treatment purposes as well as for scientific research. Diagnosis of a number of clinical conditions relies on imaging of the various tissues of the eye. The subject technology describes a method and apparatus for imaging the eye using off-center illumination in a manner that avoids light striking the anterior surfaces of the eye at or near a center of the optical axis, thereby reducing reflections traveling back along an imaging light path, while also providing substantially uniform illumination of a region of interest of the fundus.
Methods and apparatus for making a determination about an eye in ambient lighting conditions
Disclosed herein are methods and apparatus for making a determination about an eye in ambient lighting conditions comprising detecting ambient light reflected out of an eye of a subject from a retina of the eye of the subject and making a determination about the eye of the subject based upon the reflected ambient light.
Retinal camera with light baffle and dynamic illuminator for expanding eyebox
A retinal imaging system includes an image sensor for acquiring a retinal image and an illuminator for illuminating a retina to acquire the retinal image. The illuminator surrounds an aperture through which an image path for the retinal image passes before reaching the image sensor. Illumination sources surround the aperture.
