An XR-based system (virtual reality, augmented reality, or mixed reality system), is provided to visualize and resolve at least one condition of a subject. A dynamic virtual representation of the subject's body is generated based on the captured physical traits and movement of the subject's body is captured by at least one motion tracking device, and rendered in the extended reality environment. The dynamic virtual representation is synchronized with the movement of the body of the subject, generating a virtual representation of at least one condition of the subject in response to one or more inputs, overlaying or rendering the virtual representation of the condition of the subject on the virtual representation of the body of the subject, and receiving and processing one or more inputs representing one or more attributes of the condition to adjust the virtual representation of the condition of the subject in the extended reality environment.

Method for measuring a subject's eye movement and scleral contact lens

Method and contact lens (3) for measuring a subject's three dimensional eye movement including torsional movement. A video camera (1) is provided for recording an image of the subject's eye (2). The contact lens (3) is provided for placement over the subject's eye (2). The contact lens (3) comprises one or more markers (3a,3b) that are detectable by the video camera (1) and are positioned at a lateral offset (D) with respect to a central part (3p) of the contact lens (3). The one or more markers (3a,3b) are configured for detecting torsional rotation (R) of the subject's eye (2) around a line of sight axis (C) of the subject's eye (2) by using the video camera (1) to track a position of the one or more markers (3a,3b).

Orthopaedic monitoring system, methods and apparatus

A method for assessing the orthopaedic performance of a joint of a patient can comprise implanting at least a first and second RF wirelessly detectable markers in first and second bones associated with a site and determining and storing their positions before a surgical procedure is performed. The procedure can be carried out on the site and the positions of the first and second markers can be detected and stored after the procedure has been completed. The detected positions can be used to generate a representation of the orthopaedic performance of the joint after the procedure.

TEMPORAL CODING OF MARKERS FOR OBJECT TRACKING

There is provided a method of motion tracking comprising arranging one or more active marker devices on an object, the active marker devices being configured to emit light and each having an associated temporally repeating pattern comprising a plurality of time frames, controlling the one or more active marker devices to emit light according to their respective temporally repeating patterns, wherein the temporally repeating patterns are such that the active marker device does not emit light during at least one time frame of the plurality of time frames, detecting light emitted by the one or more active marker devices using one or more cameras, and determining a spatial configuration of the object using the light detected by the one or more cameras.

Mixed-reality surgical system with physical markers for registration of virtual models

An example method includes obtaining, a virtual model of a portion of an anatomy of a patient obtained from a virtual surgical plan for an orthopedic joint repair surgical procedure to attach a prosthetic to the anatomy; identifying, based on data obtained by one or more sensors, positions of one or more physical markers positioned relative to the anatomy of the patient; and registering, based on the identified positions, the virtual model of the portion of the anatomy with a corresponding observed portion of the anatomy.

Body size estimation apparatus, body size estimation method, and program

Provided are a body size estimation apparatus, a body size estimation method, and a program that enable the estimation of the body size of a user even when the user has not taken a T-pose in advance. A body size data storage unit (50) stores body size data indicating a body size of a user. A posture data acquisition unit (52) acquires position data indicating positions of a plurality of body parts away from each other of the user. A body size estimation unit (54) estimates a body size of the user based on positions of two or more body parts indicated by the position data. A body size update unit (56) updates, in a case where the estimated body size is larger than the body size indicated by the body size data stored in the body size data storage unit (50), the body size indicated by the body size data to the estimated body size.

Systems and methods to compute a subluxation between two bones

Systems, methods and a sensor alignment mechanism are disclosed for medical navigational guidance systems. In one example, a system to make sterile a non-sterile optical sensor for use in navigational guidance during surgery includes a sterile drape having an optically transparent window to drape the optical sensor in a sterile barrier and a sensor alignment mechanism. The alignment mechanism secures the sensor through the drape in alignment with the window without breaching the sterile barrier and facilitates adjustment of the orientation of the optical sensor. The optical sensor may be aligned to view a surgical site when the alignment mechanism, assembled with the sterile drape and optical sensor, is attached to a bone. The alignment mechanism may be a lockable ball joint and facilitate orientation of the sensor in at least two degrees of freedom. A quick connect mechanism may couple the alignment mechanism to the bone.
