EAR-WEARABLE DEVICES AND METHODS FOR ALLERGIC REACTION DETECTION
Embodiments herein relate to ear-wearable systems and devices that can detect allergic reactions. In an embodiment, an ear-wearable device is included having a control circuit, a microphone, and a sensor package. The ear-wearable device can be configured to evaluate at least one of signals from the microphone, signals from the sensor package, signals from an external sensor, and contextual factor data, and detect an allergic reaction based on the evaluation. In an embodiment, an ear-wearable device system is included having a first ear-wearable device and a second ear-wearable device. In an embodiment, a method of predicting or detecting the onset or presence of an allergic reaction with an ear-wearable system is included. Other embodiments are also included herein.
Breath analysis system and methods for asthma, tuberculosis and lung cancer diagnostics and disease management
Methods and systems are disclosed for the detecting of whether a subject has a lung disorder such as asthma, tuberculosis or lung cancer. Monitoring the subject's health and prognosis is also disclosed.
WHEAL AND FLARE ANALYZING SYSTEM
The wheal and flare analyzing system analyzes the mast cell reaction to an allergen being administered in a scratch or prick skin test. The system comprises a sensor array and a processing unit. The sensor array includes a plurality of emitters surrounding a receiver at the allergen test site. Energy of various wavelengths is emitted into the allergen test site. An energy receiver measures reflected various wavelengths from the plurality of emitters. A microprocessor is in digital communication with the plurality of emitters and the energy receiver. The reflected wavelengths have an energy return indicative of the intensity of the allergic reaction in the mast cells. The intensity of the allergic reaction is analyzable from the reflected wavelengths and other data over time. A plurality of temperature sensors measuring local dermal temperatures surrounding the sensor array, the local dermal temperature being indicative of the intensity of the allergic reaction.
Allergy testing device and method of testing for allergies
An allergy testing system comprises a skin test device having a grip portion for holding the device. One or more legs extend from the grip, and each leg is oriented to interact with a well containing a potential allergen. Each leg has a test head, and each test head has a plurality of elongated spike members. The elongated spike members have a sharp end configured to receive the potential allergen from a well and to puncture a patient's skin. In addition, each test head has a touch activator. The touch activator is longer than the plurality of elongated spike members, such that during an allergy test, the touch activator comes into contact with the skin prior to the elongated spike members, causing the touch activator to activate nerve tissue that blocks transmission of pain, resulting in a reduction of pain and/or discomfort during testing.
APPARATUS TO PERFORM AN ALLERGEN DIAGNOSTIC
Multi-layer contact patches, as well as related apparatus, kits, systems, and methods, enable improved allergen testing and diagnosis. Multi-layer contact patches include a shield layer releasably coupled to an adhesive layer. The adhesive layer at least partially defines and is fixably coupled to an allergen complex layer. The allergen complex layer defines a plurality of allergen complex cavities. At least a subset of the allergen complex cavities include an allergen complex positioned therein, each allergen complex comprising an absorbent matrix and an allergen.
Garment system providing biometric monitoring for medical condition assessment
A garment (e.g., a shirt) for monitoring biometric properties of the wearer of the garment is disclosed. The garment may include sensors for monitoring or assessing the vital signs and body position of the wearer. A processor associated with the garment may provide an output indicative of an assessed condition of the wearer based on the assessed vital signs and the assessed body position of the wearer of the fabric. The garment may include an injector assembly that is used to administer a drug injection to the wearer when the assessed condition indicates that the wearer is in an alert condition.
METHODS AND KIT FOR DETECTION OF ANALYTES
The present invention provides for a kit and methods that detect certain analytes of interest potentially present in blood and bodily fluids of a living mammal. The methods and kit encompass a bioassay performed in vivo. Contact of the bioassay reagent with the analyte, if present, renders a response that can be clinically assessed visually or by reading instrumentation or by biosensor. In one embodiment, the invention may be used to detect the presence, absence, or amount of suspected analyte present in a patient test subject. The invention is particularly suited for point-of-care (POC) use, self-testing, large-scale implementation and for use with patients where limited sample volumes are available or accessible.
Blister strip
A blister strip which can be stuck onto the skin, is formed from at least two sheets and has an applicator for applying a medium contained in the blister to the skin, wherein the blister strip includes an upper sheet, with at least one protuberance, wherein the underside of the upper sheet, the underside enclosing the protuberance, is of adhesive configuration. The blister strip has a lower sheet, which covers the lower surface of the blister strip and can be drawn off from the adhesive underside of the upper sheet. The protuberance contains an applicator, separating the protuberance into at least two sub-volumes. Wherein the applicator has at least one opening, which connects two sub-volumes, wherein one sub-volume is located between the applicator and the lower sheet, and wherein at least one sub-volume is entirely surrounded by the inner surface of the protuberance and the applicator, and contains the medium.
Surface cutting device, in particular for allergy diagnosis
The present invention relates to a cutting device comprising a manual gripping element (100) and a cutting assembly (200) that is positioned on one end of the gripping element (100) and comprises a punch (210) split into at least two cutting tips (220, 230), at least one of these tips (220, 230) being hinged on the gripping element (100) in order to be movable between a rest and cutting position in which the tips (220, 230) are adjacent and a working and injection position in which the tips (220, 230) are spaced apart, and urging means (250) designed to move each movable tip (220, 230) into the working position when these urging means (250) press against the skin.
PASSENGER HEALTH SCREENING AND MONITORING
