PERCUTANEOUS MEDICAL DEVICE NAVIGATION SYSTEM
A medical device navigation system includes a medical device assembly and a navigation device. The medical device assembly includes an adhesive patch configured to adhere to an outer surface of a patient and a tracking assembly coupled to the adhesive patch. The tracking assembly includes one or more reference markers. The navigation device is configured to receive image data representing one or more images from an imaging device. The one or more images indicate a relative position between the one or more reference markers and a treatment site in the patient. The navigation device is configured to determine, based on the image data, a percutaneous insertion path for an injection needle from an insertion point to the treatment site of the patient and output one or more parameters corresponding to the percutaneous insertion path.
PHRENIC NERVE WARNING
In one embodiment, an ablation system includes a catheter including at least one electrode, and configured to be inserted into a chamber of a heart of a living subject, an ablation power generator configured to apply an electrical signal to the at least one electrode to ablate tissue of the chamber, at least one body surface patch configured to be applied to a body surface of the living subject, and provide at least one position signal, and a processor configured to compute an index of a measurement of diaphragm movement responsively to the at least one position signal, and perform an action responsively to the computed index.
Stimulation device adapter
A stimulation device includes an adapter component to increase the usability of the stimulation device. The adapter may be a bipolar adapter arranged to connect to the housing of the stimulation device. The adapter may include a clip having a first channel configured to receive an operative element therein and a second channel having a return operative element therein. The return operative element is in electrical communication with an electrical circuit of said stimulation control device. Alternatively, the adapter may be a percutaneous adapter comprising a connector configured to connect to an operative element of a stimulation device and a lead wire connected to the connector. A needle may be connected to the lead wire to deliver a electrical stimulation signal to a target tissue located beneath the skin of a subject patient.
System and method for mapping the functional nerves innervating the wall of arteries, 3-D mapping and catheters for same
Disclosed herein are systems and methods for locating and identifying nerves innervating the wall of arteries such as the renal artery. The present invention identifies areas on vessel walls that are innervated with nerves; provides indication on whether energy is delivered accurately to a targeted nerve; and provides immediate post-procedural assessment of the effect of energy delivered to the nerve. The methods includes evaluating a change in physiological parameters after energy is delivered to an arterial wall; and determining the type of nerve that the energy was directed to (sympathetic or parasympathetic or none) based on the evaluated results. The system includes at least a device for delivering energy to the wall of blood vessel; sensors for detecting physiological signals from a subject; and indicators to display results obtained using said method. Also provided are catheters for performing the mapping and ablating functions.
Determining nerve location relative to electrodes
An implantable nerve stimulator is implanted in a patient near a nerve target. The implantable nerve stimulator has a plurality of electrodes through which stimulation is provided to the nerve target. The relative location of the nerve target and the electrodes may be determined by applying stimulation to the nerves via each of the electrodes, determining an effect of the stimulation for each of the electrodes, and mapping a location of the nerve relative to the electrodes based on the effect of the stimulation for each of the electrodes.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR NON-INVASIVE CHRONIC PAIN THERAPY
The present disclosure relates to sensing devices, systems, and their methods of use for aiding transcutaneous magnetic stimulation (tMS) therapy, such as for the treatment, alleviation, and the management of pain. The sensing device being configured for determining and measuring the efficacy thereof. Particularly, the present disclosure is directed to providing sensing devices, systems including the same, and their methods of use in identifying and targeting one or more sources of pain, such as chronic neuropathic pain, as well as for facilitating in the treatment thereof.
Multi-shield spinal access system
An access device for accessing an intervertebral disc having an outer shield comprising an access shield with a larger diameter (˜16-30 mm) that reaches from the skin down to the facet line, with an inner shield having a second smaller diameter (˜5-12 mm) extending past the access shield and reaches down to the disc level. This combines the benefits of the direct visual microsurgical/mini open approaches and the percutaneous, “ultra-MIS” techniques.
SCENE ADAPTIVE ENDOSCOPIC HYPERSPECTRAL IMAGING SYSTEM
A method of operating a surgical visualization system includes illuminating an anatomical field of a patient using a waveform transmitted by an emitter. The method also includes capturing an image of the anatomical field based on the waveform using a receiver. The emitter and the receiver are configured for multispectral imaging or hyperspectral imaging. The method also includes determining an adjustment to at one operating parameter of the surgical visualization system based on at least one environmental scene parameter. The method also includes automatically implementing the adjustment to the at least one operating parameter to aid in identification of at least one anatomical structure in the anatomical field.
ENDOSCOPE WITH SOURCE AND PIXEL LEVEL IMAGE MODULATION FOR MULTISPECTRAL IMAGING
A system may be provided which comprises an illumination source adapted to simultaneously illuminate a surgical site with spectral light comprising a first wavelength of light and a second wavelength of light, a first set of sensors comprising sensors adapted to detect visible light, and a second set of sensors comprising sensors adapted to detect the first wavelength of light; and sensors adapted to detect the second wavelength of light. In such a case, the system may also comprise a display coupled to a processor configured to display an enhanced image of the surgical site comprising a visible light image from data detected by the first set of sensors and an overlay identifying a target structure based on light detected by the second set of sensors while the surgical site is illuminated by spectral light comprising the first and second wavelengths of light.
