INTRAORAL X-RAY SYSTEM
An intraoral x-ray system mountable to a dentist’s office wall including components movable to compensate for defects in the wall’s flatness or the wall not being sufficiently perpendicular to the floor. The system also includes monitoring and compensation capabilities to compensate for drift in the position of the system’s x-ray source or patient movement before and during x-ray imaging, thereby avoiding the need for the taking of additional x-ray images and exposing the patient unnecessarily to extra x-ray dose. Additionally, the system further includes a data/signal processing unit that allows the x-ray source to be precisely moved along a predetermined trajectory and allows the system to perform computed tomosynthesis examinations of a patient. In addition, the x-ray source is attachable/detachable from the system’s robotic arm, with the system compensating automatically for the change in weight at the robotic arm’s end due to removal of the x-ray source.
COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY GANTRY WITH PROXIMITY SWITCH FOR DETECTING A ZERO POSITION
In a gantry for a computed tomography device, a rotary frame is arranged on the tilt frame so that the rotary frame rotates relative to the tilt frame about an axis of rotation. The tilt frame is arranged on the support frame so that the tilt frame tilts about a tilt axis relative to the support frame, such that a tilt angle of the tilt frame relative to the support frame is changeable by a tilting movement of the tilt frame relative to the support frame about the tilt axis. The proximity switch has a proximity sensor and a reference mark, which interacts with the proximity sensor. The proximity switch is also coupled to the support frame and to the tilt frame such that the proximity switch is configured to react to an approach of the tilt angle to a reference angle.
Device and method for performing nuclear imaging
Gamma cameras may be used to obtain two-dimensional images of an emitting object, of which the most common form is the “Anger-type” gamma camera. The primary components in a conventional Anger-type gamma camera include, but are not limited to: a plurality of photo-multiplier tubes, a scintillator material, and a collimator. The disclosed invention claims a novel use of a gamma camera which eliminates the collimator. The new method is a method of forming an initial image from the incident radiation, which does not depend on any mechanical or other means of restricting the incident radiation to be passed on to a position-sensitive radiation detector. This method then uses mathematical deconvolution to produce an image of the object without the need for a collimator and without reliance on a pre-existing image.
Interventional system
The invention relates to an interventional system comprising an introduction element (4) like a catheter for being introduced into an object (9), for instance, a person. A moving unit (2) like a robot moves the introduction element within the object, wherein a tracking image generating unit (3) generates tracking images of the introduction element within the object and wherein a controller (8) controls the tracking image generating unit depending on movement parameters of the moving unit, which are indicative of the movement, such that the tracking images show the introduction element. This control can be performed very accurately based on the known real physical movement of the introduction element such that it is not necessary to, for instance, irradiate a relatively large area of the object for ensuring that the introduction element is really captured by the tracking images, thereby allowing for a reduced radiation dose applied to the object.
Systems and methods for scanning a patient in an imaging system
The present disclosure relates to a method for scanning a patient in an imaging system. The imaging system may include one or more cameras directed at the patient. The method may include obtaining a position of each of the camera(s) relative to the imaging system. The method may also include obtain image data of the patient captured by the camera(s), wherein the image data may correspond to a first view with respect to the patient. The method may further include generating projection image data of the patient based on the image data and the position of each of the camera(s) relative to the imaging system, wherein the projection image data may correspond to a second view with respect to the patient different from the first view. The method may further include generating control information for scanning the patient based on the projection image data of the patient.
Radiation shielding apparatuses and applications thereof
Apparatuses (devices, systems) and methods for shielding (protecting) surroundings around periphery of regions of interest located inside objects (e.g., patients) from radiation emitted by X-ray systems towards the objects. Apparatus includes: at least one radiation shield assembly including a support base connectable to an X-ray system radiation source or detector, and a plurality of radiation shield segments sequentially positioned relative to the support base, thereby forming a contiguous radiopaque screen configured for spanning around the region of interest periphery with a radiopaque screen edge opposing the object. Radiation shield segments are individually, actively controllable to extend or contract to selected lengths with respective free ends in directions away from or towards the support base(s), for locally changing contour of the radiopaque screen edge. Applicable for shielding (protecting) medical personnel, and patients, from exposure to X-ray radiation during medical interventions or/and diagnostics.
Arrangement for controlling image plate and its image information and a method for controlling the arrangement
A system for dental X-ray imaging includes an intra oral imaging plate. A tag is attached directly to the intra oral imaging plate. The tag attached directly to the intra oral imaging plate is configured to have tag information remotely read from the tag or the tag is configured to have tag information written to the tag. The tag information is configured to control a portion of the system adapted to perform at least one operation controlled by the tag information.
Gated Image Acquisition And Patient Model Construction
A method and system is disclosed for acquiring image data of a subject. The image data can be collected with an imaging system with at least two different power characteristics. The image data can be reconstructed using dynamic or enhanced reconstruction techniques.
COLLIMATOR
An N-M tomography system comprising: a carrier for the subject of an examination procedure; a plurality of detector heads; a carrier for the detector heads; and a detector positioning arrangement operable to position the detector heads during performance of a scan without interference or collision between adjacent detector heads to establish a variable bore size and configuration for the examination. Additionally, collimated detectors providing variable spatial resolution for SPECT imaging and which can also be used for PET imaging, whereby one set of detectors can be selectably used for either modality, or for both simultaneously.
