Embodiments of a floss strip and methods of using the same are disclosed herein. The floss strip can include a flossing filament. The flossing filament can have a first end and a second end. The flossing strip can include a first anchor coupled to the flossing filament at the first end of the flossing filament. The flossing strip can include a second anchor coupled to the flossing filament at the second end of the flossing filament. The flossing filament can couple the first and second anchors. The flossing strip can include a tensioning member attached to the flossing filament at an intermediate location between the first anchor and the second anchor.

A dental floss cartridge is disclosed. The cartridge includes a housing, a roll of dental floss comprising a polymer such that the dental floss has a first surface and a second surface, a floss exit opening in the housing through which the floss is configured to exit, a texture-inducing structure arranged within the housing and configured to impart texture onto at least one of the first and second surfaces of the dental floss prior to or during the dental floss passing through the floss exit opening, and a cutting device on an exterior of the housing configured to cut the dental floss into a desired length.

This disclosure proposes a technique for finding and treating areas of tooth decay primarily below the gum line using protuberances provided in a length of modified dental floss. The length of modified dental floss is provided with protuberances which can be used to detect areas of tooth decay by the roughness and sensitivity felt as the length of modified dental floss glides over the area of tooth decay. Specially designed posts are used to anchor the ends of the length of modified dental floss in order to be able to apply greater force during flossing, and free up fingers that would normally have the dental floss wrapped around them, to guide the floss to the right locations for flossing.

In one embodiment, a dental flosser includes a handle and a housing coupled to the handle. The housing includes a chamber for rotatably receiving a spool having first top and bottom surfaces and a side surface and having a supply of floss wound about the side surface, the supply of floss having second top and bottom surfaces. The housing further includes a floss orifice for directing at least a portion of the supply of floss therethrough. The dental flosser also includes an actuator including at least one contact surface configured to frictionally engage at least one of the first top surface, the first bottom surface, the second top surface, or the second bottom surface. The actuator further includes a biasing member for biasing the at least one contact surface relative to the spool.

Dental floss includes: a floss part that is formed by twisting a plurality of filaments together but not tying up the filaments; and tied-up parts that are provided continuously with the floss part, and are formed by tying up the plurality of the filaments, wherein each of the tied-up parts is formed in such a manner that filaments are covered with a contour part in a cross section thereof.

A “Flossing Device with Spring-Type Head” is a device used to floss the teeth. A handle with a storage chamber in which the coiled floss thread is stored, is fixedly attached to a Spring-Type Head that includes a substantially U-shape flexible arm and two substantially cylindrical shape fixtures. Each piece of the floss thread is placed and secured between the said fixtures. Due to the flexibility of the said arm, a constant suitable tension of the floss thread is maintained at all times. Using the device, while flossing becomes possible with one hand, it gives the user a much more effective and easier flossing experience.

A mechanical drive rotates the flaccid belt. Various embodiments of the flaccid belt include a single lemniscate, a plurality of lemniscates, and various simulated lemniscates. In one embodiment, the infinity brush bristle includes non-cylindrical brush bristles with a longitudinal shaft having at least one diameter transition, while other bristles comprise beads of various oval, circular, and cylindrical geometries.

The preset invention is comprised of a novel hemp filament floss generally consisting of tightly bound hemp plant filaments and fibers. The filaments and fibers are structured to a string like design similar to presently marketed silk, plastic, and bamboo floss; into a strong, string-like, durable structure. The hemp floss may be coated and flavored for friction and comfort. The coating may include dietary or medicinal properties and substances. In other embodiments, said hemp filament floss is not limited to morphing in regard to structure, components, coating, shape, size, texture, and style.
