CLEANING APPLIANCE
A dental treatment appliance transmits a pulsed light signal towards the oral cavity and captures images of the oral cavity from light returned from the oral cavity. A controller actuates the treatment of the oral cavity of the user depending on the captured images.

CLEANING APPLIANCE
A dental cleaning appliance includes a fluid reservoir for storing working fluid, a nozzle for delivering working fluid to the teeth of a user, a light source for illuminating the fluid reservoir and a control circuit for activating the light source to generate an alert which is conveyed to the user through the illumination of the fluid reservoir.

ORAL IRRIGATOR WITH OCCLUSAL SURFACE SENSING
A system for oral irrigation comprises a fluid delivery tube (102) with a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end is for receiving oral irrigation fluids. A nozzle (104) is placed at the distal end of the fluid delivery tube. The system further comprises an interdental sensor (2002) for detecting whether the nozzle is in an interdental space, and a motion sensor (2004) for measuring the displacement of the nozzle. A processor is configured to determine whether the nozzle (104) is moving along the occlusal surface of a tooth based on the displacement of the nozzle being larger than a critical distance, wherein the critical distance is indicative of the length of a tooth, and the interdental sensor (2002) not detecting an interdental space during the displacement of the nozzle.

Cleaning appliance
A dental cleaning appliance includes a handle and a fluid delivery system. The fluid delivery system includes a nozzle for delivering a burst of working fluid to the teeth of a user, and a moveable fluid conduit which is moveable about an axis relative to the handle. The nozzle is moveable with the fluid conduit, which is biased for movement about the axis in a direction which urges the nozzle against a user's teeth during use of the appliance.

Cleaning appliance
A dental cleaning appliance includes a handle and a fluid delivery system for delivering a burst of working fluid to the teeth of a user. Part of the fluid delivery system is moveable relative to the handle as the appliance is moved along the teeth of the user. A sensor provides an output which varies with movement of that part of the fluid delivery system relative to the handle. A control circuit actuates the delivery of working fluid to the teeth of the user depending on the output from the sensor.
