SELF-ADAPTIVE ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH

A self-adaptive electric toothbrush includes a handle and a brush head. A vibrating motor is arranged in the handle. Bristles are arranged on the brush head. An output shaft of the vibrating motor extends out of the handle and is connected to the brush head through a delay structure. By the delay structure, the brush head remains stationary or the amplitude of the oscillation of the brush head is less than the amplitude of the oscillation of the output shaft after the vibrating motor is activated and before pressure is applied to the bristles. After pressure is applied to the bristles, the amplitude of the oscillation of the brush head is greater than the amplitude of the oscillation before pressure is applied. In the self-adaptive electric toothbrush, before the pressure is applied, the brush head is stationary or the amplitude of oscillation is small.

A brush head (112, 212, 312, 412) for attachment to a shaft (118, 218, 318, 418) of an oral care device (400), the brush head (112, 212, 312, 412) comprising: a neck (114, 214, 314) having a working head (116, 216, 316, 416), the neck being configured to transmit oscillations from the shaft to the working head; and a spring (102, 202, 302) captive within the neck, wherein upon insertion of the shaft into the assembled brush head, the spring provides a retention force for retaining the brush head on the shaft, characterised in that the spring is in direct mechanical contact with the neck and the shaft.

Power toothbrush with added inertia resonant system

An added inertia resonant system (12) for a power toothbrush (10) comprises a drive shaft (16), a drive system (22), and at least one inertial weight member (24). The drive shaft (16) has a principal axis (26) that defines a center of rotation. The drive system (22) imparts a reciprocating motion to the drive shaft (16) about the principal axis (26). The at least one inertial weight member (24) couples to the drive shaft (16) and comprises a planar material having a complex shape balanced along an x-, y- and z-axis to enable the drive system (22) to achieve low power, high amplitude motion of the drive shaft (16) when placed under user loading. A method for providing added inertia in a resonant system for a power toothbrush is also disclosed.

The Alternate Eliminator Tooth Brush uses a very different unique method in which to clean teeth. This unique operation is achieved with a new tooth brush design that has two revolving tooth brush heads, one directly behind the other on two separate axels as each revolves in opposite directions giving a more effective method producing a more thorough scouring of the teeth, tongue, and gums with a double whisking cleaning action along with the reciprocation of the front tooth brush head helping to remove mucus that causes plaque build up. The steady vigorous whisking action of dual heads provides a constant action over the entire surface of the teeth while preventing the redistribution of food particles in and between the teeth. A common occurrence with the conventional hand held, and the electric tooth brushes, but something thats avoided with the three speed motor of the Alternate Eliminator Tooth Brush.

The present invention relate to an electric toothbrush with an elongate body comprising a housing, a brush head and a neck member arranged between the housing and the brush head, wherein i) the housing accommodates a motor for generating an oscillation movement to a shaft extended from the motor, i) the neck member couples with the shaft such that the oscillation movement is transmittable to the neck member whereby the neck member and the shaft are oscillatable together in the same extent, iii) a proximal end of the brush head is provided with a circumferential region rotatably fitted to a distal end of the neck member, and iv) the electric toothbrush further comprises an elongate strip member extending from the neck region to the brush head with opposite ends of the strip member fixedly connected to the brush head and the neck member, respectively.

Indexed drive system

An indexed drive system (10) for mechanised tools, in particular an electric toothbrush, for selectively imparting various drive modes to a pair of concentrically-arranged drive shafts (12, 14) thereby imparting various brushing modes to the head (H) of the mechanised tool, in particular an electric toothbrush.

Chassis of an oral cleansing device

A chassis of an oral cleansing device is provided. The oral cleansing device may include a first chassis half including a first threaded portion, a second chassis half including a second threaded portion, and a nut threaded onto the first threaded portion and the second threaded portion to at least partially secure the first chassis half to the second chassis half. The threaded portions may be defined on respective ends of the first chassis half and the second chassis half. The nut may engage chamfered edges of the first chassis half and the second chassis half. Engagement of the nut with the first chamfered edge and the second chamfered edge may produce a radial compressive force on the chassis halves. The first chassis half and the second chassis half may at least partially define a chassis that is positioned within a handle of the oral cleansing device.

Personal care device actuator with rattle mitigation

An actuator (12) for a personal care appliance (10) having an eccentric core (21) to preload the actuator (12) to prevent rattling caused by detrimental reactionary forces. The eccentric core (21) includes a pole assembly (24) radially extending from a spindle 22 having at least a first set (25-1) and a second set (25-2) of pole members. The first set (25-1) has a greater length as measured from the center of the spindle 22 than the second set (24-2), reducing the magnet gap on one side of the spindle (22) to create an eccentric core and preload the actuator (12). Alternatively, the preload can be mechanically created by a set of bearings (28) disposed within housing (18) of the actuator 12, where the bearings (28) have a centerline (A3) offset from the principal axis (A1) of the housing (18).

CLEANING AND/OR TREATMENT UNIT FOR AN ORAL CLEANING AND/OR TREATMENT DEVICE

An oral cleaning and/or treatment unit (10), e.g. a head for an oral cleaning and/or treatment device, includes electrodes (18a, 18b) for emitting RF energy for providing an oral cleaning and/or treatment function. The unit includes at least a first (14a) and second (14b) protruding member, which protrude in a same general direction away from a base or support structure (12). Each comprises one or more electrodes for generating an RF field. The protruding members are adapted to have a flexibility that permits the member to resiliently bend or deform in a direction perpendicular the direction of extension of the member out of the support surface (‘lateral direction’).
