The dentition includes a restoration dental arch and an opposing dental arch. The restoration dental arch include the restoration site and the opposing dental arch is opposite the restoration dental arch. The system includes an impression apparatus, a motion capture apparatus, an interface apparatus, and a restoration design system. The impression apparatus is configured to capture an impression of the dentition of the patient. The motion capture apparatus is configured to capture a plurality of location data points that represent the locations of the opposing dental arch relative to the restoration dental arch. The interference model generation system is configured to generate an interference model for the restoration site. The restoration design system is for designing a restoration using the interference model.
Method of establishing upper boundary for dental prosthetic
A method is used to provide a dental prosthetic with an upper boundary that cannot be seen when a patient smiles with the dental prosthetic installed. The method includes tracing a smile line on a dental appliance while the dental appliance is in the patient's mouth and while the patient is smiling. The method then includes transferring that smile line from the dental appliance to a study cast of the patient's mouth. The study cast is then scanned to create a three-dimensional digital model that includes the transferred smile line. The three-dimensional digital model is used to generate a surgical plan and surgical hardware for installation of the dental prosthetic. The dental prosthetic may include a full arch restoration.

INTERPROXIMAL ARTICULATION HOLDER
An interproximal articulation holder (10) has an arm (12) having a handle (11) at one end and an oppositely disposed holding head (16). The holding head is part of a marking portion (13) which also includes a piece of articulation film (18) having a generally rectangular shaped exposed area (18″) extending beyond the holding head (16). The arm or holding head may include a score or score line (19) which enables the arm or head to be manually bent at an angle. This arm may also include forming notches (20) to aid in the bending process. The handle, arm and holding head may be formed of two or more outer layers of stock paper (21) laminated together with an inner layer of the wax coated articulation film positioned or sandwiched between the stock paper layers.
INDIRECT BONDING TRAY FOR ORTHODONTIC APPLIANCE
The techniques described herein relate to exemplary indirect bonding trays for orthodontic appliances. An example indirect bonding tray comprises an occlusal base having an outer perimeter and defining a first impression conforming to a first occlusal tooth surface and a second impression conforming to at least a portion of a second occlusal tooth surface. The example indirect bonding tray further comprises a buccal wall defining a well to releasably engage an orthodontic appliance, the buccal wall extending outwards beyond the outer perimeter of the occlusal base, wherein: the buccal wall and the well are in a first region of the indirect bonding tray associated with the first impression, the first region is adjacent to a second region of the indirect bonding tray associated with the second impression, and an outer wall of the second region extends to the outer perimeter of the occlusal base.
Method for determining treatment of orthopaedic imbalances, and apparatus therefor
A method for determining treatment of orthopaedic imbalances including the steps of: mounting upper and lower jaw dentition models to an articulator; setting the position of the models to replicate the relative positions of the jaw dentitions of a patient; determining from an x-ray or scan: (i) the outline of the patient's condylar head; and (ii) the pattern and depth of the patient's fossae; displaying a reproduction of the outline of the patient's condylar head; displaying a reproduction of the pattern and depth of the patient's fossae and eminance; adjusting the relative position of the models to remedy orthopaedic imbalances, which adjustment causes relative movement of: (i) the display of the condylar head; and (ii) the display of the pattern and depth of the fossae and eminance; and recording adjustments made to the relative position of the fossae/eminence and condoylar head and the upper and lower jaw dentition models.
Multiple bite configurations
