LEG PROTECTOR
The present disclosure relates to a leg protector. The leg protector according to an example embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a protection part formed to surround at least a portion of a user's leg; a bottom plate part formed integrally with the protection part and configured to support a user's foot; and a midsole provided below the bottom plate part, wherein at least one hole is formed in the bottom plate part, a protrusion portion is formed in the midsole at a position corresponding to the at least one hole, and the protrusion portion of the midsole is configured to be inserted into the at least one hole of the bottom plate part so that the bottom plate part and the midsole are coupled to each other.
Ostomy pouching system
An ostomy pouching system is described. A baseplate includes a seal adapted to be securely placed on the skin about the perimeter of tissue defining a stoma incised into a patient. An ostomy reservoir forms a sealed space within which discharge can be received and held. A flex layer includes a seal that is airtight, watertight, or both, and which is structurally interposed between at least a portion of two or more of the skin, tissue, stoma, baseplate, and ostomy reservoir. The flex layer includes a resiliently and elastically malleable phase change material. The flex layer is deformable such that at least one portion of the flex layer can transmute the magnitude of a force applied to the flex layer and redirect the force. External forces acting upon at least one of the skin, tissue, stoma, baseplate, and ostomy reservoir are mitigated, transmuted, and isolated by the flex layer.
PAIR OF EYE GOGGLES
A pair of eye goggles is provided. The pair of eye goggles includes a nosepiece fittable over a portion of a wearer's face, the nosepiece comprising one or more strands, at least a portion of the nosepiece comprising a phase change material, wherein a shape of the nosepiece changes upon an application of an energy to the phase changing portion to conform to the face; and a pair of eyepieces connected to the nosepiece.
Cover
A cover is disclosed. An airtight and watertight covering defines a space with at least one opening configured to circumferentially accommodate a portion of a body of a wearer and includes a flex layer including a plurality of resiliently elastic, malleable and deformable strands. A first gasket includes a malleable and resiliently deformable elastomer communicatively provided within an inner surface of the airtight and watertight covering within the space. The first gasket is configured to form an airtight and watertight seal against the portion of the body. The flex layer is deformable to allow the flex layer to transmute the magnitude of a force applied to the flex layer and to mitigate and to redirect the force respectively received against and away from the first gasket which thereby maintains the airtight and watertight seal against the portion of the body.
EXTREMITY MEDICAL DEVICE WATERPROOF COVER
The extremity medical device waterproof cover disclosed herein may comprise a waterproof extremity cover combined with digit covers and a plurality of traction pads to provide a user with a waterproof environment for their medical device and additional grip for their hands or feet. The extremity medical device waterproof cover may comprise any appropriate flexible, resilient, and waterproof material and may attach securely to a user's arm or leg by an appropriate cuff. The device is designed to overcome the shortcomings in the prior art, which specifically include the lack of ability to grip objects with the hand while wearing a cast cover or reducing the risk of slipping and falling while wearing such a cover on the foot.
Devices and methods for protecting and offloading pressure in casting neuropathic and diabetic wounds of the foot
A method and device are shown for use in casting for Total Contact Casting for offloading pressure in neuropathic and diabetic wounds or fractures of the appendages such as the human leg or foot. The outer casting material used can be comprised of traditional casting materials. A total foot protection pad underlies the traditional casting materials. It is a one piece moldable system that encompasses the total foot from the Achilles along the lateral and medial foot, covering the plantar surface, the malleoli and folds and extends over the dorsum. The one piece system has adhesive backing on a contact side to facilitate its application and/or forms a total foot protection pad beneath the outer hardened casting material.
Seal ring cast protector
A cast and bandage protector that uses a seal ring but avoids water pooling and seepage. It uses a flexible, stretchable and deformable diaphragm stretched tightly over a seal ring in order to seal the ordinarily open end of a flexible sleeve of waterproof material. The rigid seal ring flexible holder holds the flexible sleeve open and the diaphragm tightly stretches over and above it to minimize water pooling seepage and leaking about the interface of the diaphragm and the limb of the patient wearing the cast and the cast protector.
Waterproof external injury protector
External-injury waterproof protector, of long service life as a product. The structure of the limb-insertion opening enables completely shielding out water to protect an injured area. The protector has a flexible pouch body composed of a waterproofing material, with a mouth at either one or both ends, and an extensible/contractible annular constriction component hermetically and adhesively attached to the one or both pouch-body end(s). The annular constriction component is furnished with a tube portion formed to enable covering a portion of the four human limbs in a watertight state, and a brim portion formed projecting radially outward from a mouth edge of the tube portion. The tube portion favorably is formed at a narrower diameter than that of the other end of the pouch body. The brim portion arcuately slopes gently in a flaring form, lending the mouth of the annular constriction component an arcuate sloping surface.
Protective cover for cast
A protective cover for use over a cast to prevent soiling of the cast from bodily fluids, excrement, etc. The cover remains on the cast until the cast is removed, but can be removed and replaced as needed. The protective cover is cleaned by wiping with a damp cloth or a disinfecting or soap wipe or solution. The material is soft and smooth to the skin and is hypoallergenic. The cover is in the shape of the cast with additional material provided at each of the cast openings so that the additional material can be tucked inside the cast. Depending on the shape of the cast, the cover may optionally be provided with a slit in the material to facilitate fitting it onto the cast. The slit is provided with fasteners on each side of the slit for securing the slit together to fit the cover over the cast.
Disposable waterproof cast or bandage cover
A plastic sheath dimensioned to fit securely and snugly around an arm or leg cast or bandage of a wearer includes a flexible elastic band at an open first end constructed with at least one expandable trough encircling the sheath, with a stretchable band looped over the elastic band and fitted within the trough at said first end, and with the stretchable band being rollable forwardly from the opened first end of the sheath towards an opposite sealed second end from trough to trough when it is desired to remove the sheath from being worn.
