An anatomically contoured dental pad constructed from an absorbent material configured to have an anatomically contoured profile. In some embodiments of the present invention the contour may have a profile or cross-section substantially similar to at least one of an hourglass and/or peanut shape, a capital “L” shape, or a capital “C” shape. Such a contoured profile beneficially aligns with the anatomical structures found in the mouth, such as the patient's tongue and/or gum line.

A dental absorption roll device and method of use provides a pair of absorptive rolls that are tethered at both ends by a cord/thread is disclosed. The absorptive rolls are stuffed between one each side of mouth near the teeth being worked on. The absorptive rolls are fabricated from an absorbent material to absorb excess saliva generated during the dental procedure. The absorptive rolls absorb saliva, and maintain space in the mouth for better viewing of the teeth. The cord is forcibly introduced into the space between the teeth; thereby mounting device to teeth. The mounted cord generates tension between the absorption rolls and the teeth. This helps retain the absorption rolls in their respective position on each side of the mouth, one roll on the cheek side, and the other roll next to the tongue. Such secure placement of absorptive rolls allows dental professional to work alone.

The present invention provides a device that can move inside a biological conduit such as an intestinal tract for sampling the content therein, and a process thereof. While moving along the intestinal tract, the device can continuously collect the content in the intestinal tract. One or more convoy belts having an adsorbent layer are configured to continuously absorb and preserve the collected intestinal content. The belt loaded with the sample may be used to establish a chemical, biochemical and microbiological spectrum along the length of the intestinal tract.

A sublingual dental absorbent pad has a U-shaped body made of a moisture permeable bottom layer, a moisture impermeable top layer, an a moisture absorbent middle layer. The dental absorbent pad has a generally U-shape so that it fits in the mouth under the tongue. The dental absorbent pad has a central portion from which extend two legs which are separated from each other in a divergent manner to form a V-shaped space therebetween. An orthodontic absorbing retractor and methods for retracting regions of a mouth of a patient with the orthodontic absorbing retractor. The orthodontic absorbing retractor includes a braided cotton roll having a cylindrical shape, and has a central axis, a first end and a second end. The orthodontic absorbing retractor further includes a shape retention wire coaxially located within the braided cotton roll between the first end and the second end. The orthodontic absorbing retractor further includes a flexible hydrophobic plastic thread wrapped around an exterior of the braided cotton roll from the first end to the second end. The flexible hydrophobic plastic thread prevents sticking of the orthodontic absorbing retractor to an interior surface of the mouth.

An absorbent article includes at least two absorbent pads spaced apart from each other. The absorbent article further includes an interconnect member. Each absorbent pad includes an absorbent material configured to absorb a liquid. Each absorbent pad further includes an outer surface. The interconnect member joins the outer surfaces of the at least two absorbent pads. The interconnect member is stretchable.

A foldable absorbent apparatus to ameliorate bleeding of a wound which includes a first and second absorbent pad layer to absorb a fluid, and a malleable material layer enclosed within the first and second absorbent layer configured to be formed in various shapes, wherein the malleable material allows the first and second absorbent pad layers to be formed in various shapes to apply a pressure to a wound while at the same time absorbing fluids from the wound to promote healing of the wound.

An isolating retractor instrument to protect a tongue and a cheek of a patient during a dental treatment. The isolating instrument includes a first isolating pad (A) for the tongue, and a second isolating pad (B) for the cheek. Each of the first isolating pad and the second isolating pad having a first (1) layer contacting and adhering to oral tissue, the first layer including an absorbing material for absorbing liquids, a second layer (2) including a fast-absorbing material which absorbs the liquids and holds the liquids, a third layer (3) adjacent the second layer, the third layer (3) including a reinforced, flexible material for supporting and stabilizing a respective isolating pad, and a fourth layer (4) including a reflective, smooth, flexible, and liquid-isolating material positionable to face a plurality of teeth of the patient. A flexible tape connects the first isolating pad and the second isolating pad.

A tampon, particularly for feminine hygiene, comprises a substantially cylindrical absorbent body that is peripherally compressed and contained in a wrapper or in an applicator device.
