Methods and devices for collecting body fluids
Methods and devices for collection of fluids, including cells and cellular materials, from the uterus. A device having a central tubing member to which, at least, a flexible tubing member and an absorbable member are connected at least at one point. The absorbable member is connected to at least one portion of the central tubing member and to at least one portion of the flexible tubing member. The devices are useful in methods of collection of uterine fluids, including blood, cells and cellular material.
BI-DIRECTIONALLY POSITIONABLE TAMPON
Bi-directonally positionable tampon configured to be disposed in a vaginal opening adjacent to a cervical os for absorbing and collecting vaginal discharge. The tampon includes an elastomeric ring to support an absorbent pad for collecting and absorbing bodily fluids. To support the absorbent pad, the elastomeric ring has a first circular-shaped edge and a second circular-shaped edge that surrounds the central aperture. A covering comprising a first pervious layer and a second pervious layer disposed adjacent to the first pervious layer is attached to the elastomeric ring and disposed at least partially in the central aperture of the ring. An absorbent pad is disposed in a cavity formed between the first fabric layer and the second fabric layer of the covering. When the elastomeric ring is disposed in a vaginal opening, bodily fluid can pass through either the first and/or second pervious layers to reach the absorbent pad.
NASAL CAVITY PACKING STRUCTURE
The present invention provides a nasal cavity packing structure which comprises: a pad extending along a first direction, having a shape pressed in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, and including a first hollow extending along the first direction inside the pad; and an elastic tube an outer circumferential surface of which is closely adhered to an inner circumferential surface of the pad.
MENSTRUAL DEVICE AND APPLICATOR SYSTEM
A menstrual device having a storage volume. The menstrual device has a frame and a fluid barrier seal layer attached to the exterior surface of the frame. The menstrual device has an expanded configuration that includes an at rest configuration and a deployed configuration. The menstrual device has a compact configuration where the menstrual device is confined to a size, shape and/or geometry smaller than an expanded configuration such that it can be more easily inserted into the body. The menstrual device in a compact configuration is contained within an applicator, where the applicator assists in ejecting the menstrual device into the body.
Menstrual device and applicator system
A menstrual device having a storage volume. The menstrual device has a frame and a fluid harrier seal layer attached to the exterior surface of the frame.
TUBULAR TAMPON AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME
A tubular shaped tampon can include an absorbent body defining a cylindrical shape having a hollow interior, a porous protective sleeve surrounding the absorbent body, and a string that holds the protective sleeve in place against the absorbent body and facilitates removal of the tampon after use. The absorbent body and protective sleeve can combine to define an overall tubular structure having an inner hollow region, providing increased surface area. Methods of manufacturing the tampon can include cutting a fluid absorbent material, rolling the cut material around elongated machine prongs to form an absorbent body, rolling a porous sheet around and extending beyond both distal ends of the absorbent body, pinching together distal ends of the porous sheet, pushing at least one distal end through the hollow interior of the absorbent body, stitching the distal ends of the porous sheet together, and punching a string through the protective sleeve and absorbent body.
A TAMPON
A tampon including a body having a longitudinal axis, a front end, a rear end and an outer surface. The body including a liquid-absorbing material operable to absorb and/or retain bodily fluid. A bore extending through the body along the longitudinal axis from the front end to the rear end, said bore defining an inner surface. The tampon also including a liquid-impermeable layer, which includes a liquid-impermeable elastic material and a liquid-permeable layer. The liquid-absorbing material is a fluid. One of the liquid-impermeable layer or the liquid-permeable layer is on at least a portion of the outer surface of the body of the tampon. The other of the liquid-impermeable layer or the liquid-permeable layer is on at least a portion of the inner surface of the body. In use, the liquid-impermeable layer and the liquid-permeable layers are operable to move between a first configuration and a second configuration.
Methods and devices for collecting body fluids
The present invention comprises methods and devices for collection of fluids, including cells and cellular materials, from the uterus. A device of the present invention comprises a central tubing member to which, at least, a flexible tubing member and an absorbable member are connected at least at one point. The absorbable member is connected to at least one portion of the central tubing member and to at least one portion of the flexible tubing member. The devices of the present invention are useful in methods of collection of uterine fluids, including blood, cells and cellular material.
NASAL PLUG
Nasal plug for treatment of nosebleed in a subject, comprising: a body adapted to fit into a nostril of the subject, the body comprising a first end arranged to face inward and a second end arranged to face outward during use; a hollow tubular member disposed inside the body and comprising a first opening facing inwardly and a second opening facing outwardly during use; wherein the tubular member further comprises a collar, adapted to prevent blood of a subject from escaping the body of the nasal plug, and wherein the collar is disposed completely inside the body.
Tampon
