APPLICATOR FOR FEMININE CARE PRODUCT

A method of designing a feminine hygiene applicator is disclosed. The method includes obtaining a first applicator; obtaining onset crystallization temperature for the first applicator; obtaining a second applicator; obtaining L*, a*, b* values for the second applicator; configuring a third applicator comprising an onset crystallization temperature which is within 3 percent of the onset crystallization temperature of the first applicator; configuring the third applicator to have an L* value within 20 percent of the L* value for the second applicator; configuring the third applicator to have an a* value within 20 percent of the a* value for the second applicator; and configuring the third applicator to have a b* value within 20 percent of the b* value for the second applicator.

Tampon assembly providing proper bodily placement of a pledget

Provided is a tampon applicator having one or more insertion indicators to gauge and/or control the insertion depth of a tampon. The one or more insertion indicators may be located on the tampon applicator barrel, plunger, tampon, removal string, or any combinations thereof. As a result of the one or more insertion indicators, a woman can adjust the insertion depth of the tampon to her body's requirements ensuring leakage protection, comfort, or both.

A device includes a shell including a proximal end and a distal end of the shell. The device also includes a plunger within the shell. The plunger can include a flexible stop at a proximal end of the plunger and a distal end. The device can further include an absorptive unit configured to absorb fluid within a vaginal cavity. The absorptive unit can be affixed to the distal end of the plunger. The absorptive unit can include an absorptive element affixed to a frame structure configurable to reversibly transition between a compressed and uncompressed configuration. The absorptive unit can also include a tether coupled to the absorptive unit via the frame structure. The tether can extend through the proximal end of the plunger. Related methods of use are also described.

Tampon assembly having a shaped pledget

A tampon assembly having a barrel, a plunger, and a pledget is provided. The plunger is slidably received in the barrel. The pledget is in the barrel between the insertion tip and the plunger so that a force applied on the plunger can expel the pledget from the barrel. The barrel has a plurality of petals defining an insertion tip, which has a first taper ratio of more than about 0.3 to less than 1.0. The pledget has a shaped tip that is disposed in the insertion tip.

MENSTRUAL CUP APPLICATORS AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME

Disclosed are menstrual cup applicators and methods of their use. Some applicators include a holder having a proximal end defining a first opening and a distal end defining a second opening, wherein the holder defines a channel extending between the first and second openings, the channel having a longitudinal axis and being configured to receive a menstrual cup, and a plunger having a shaft that is receivable by the first opening such that the shaft is movable within the channel along the longitudinal axis. In some applicators, the channel is bounded at the distal end by points on the holder that are positioned to facilitate containment of a menstrual cup within the channel. In some applicators, a maximum transverse dimension of the second opening is at least 1.5 times a maximum transverse dimension of the first opening.

Reusable tampon applicator

The present invention makes reference to a reusable tampon applicator, comprising a hollow cylindrical body with a first end having an opening and a second convex end, a gripping portion located on the first end, a slit formed by a first slit section extending from the second convex end along the surface of the cylindrical body, and a second slit section extending symmetrically towards the first slit section from the second end. The reusable tampon applicator also includes a plunger which is inserted into the hollow cylindrical body through the opening of the first end, where the first slit section has a length greater than the length of the second slit section, and furthermore, the slit section located at the second convex end describes an oval, wherein a tampon is inserted within the cylindrical body.
