BONE FUSION DEVICE
A bone fusion device for insertion between bones that are to be fused together, such as, for example, the vertebrae of a spinal column. The bone fusion device comprises at least one extendable tab and one or more tab extension assemblies. Each tab extension assembly is able to be adjusted in order to individually control the extension or contraction of a side of the tab thereby enabling adjustment of the height and/or angle of the tab with respect to the body of the bone fusion device. Each tab extension assembly is able to be individually adjusted such that the side controlled by each assembly is raised or lowered until the desired tab angle is achieved. The tab is advantageously positioned and angled to correspond to the vertebrae to help brace the device until the bone has fused.
ADJUSTABLE TIBIAL TRIAL INSTRUMENT AND ORTHOPAEDIC SURGICAL METHOD OF USING THE SAME
An orthopaedic surgical system for use in implanting a total knee prosthesis includes an adjustable tibial trial component that is movable in the anterior/posterior direction and rotatable when installed on the resected surface of a patient's tibia. A method of using such a system is also disclosed.
Orthopaedic surgical instrument system and a method of trialing an orthopaedic prosthetic assembly
An orthopaedic surgical instrument system includes a hinged tibial insert trial and a tibial base trial. A post adapter is sized to be positioned over a post of the tibial base trial and to be positioned in a central opening defined in the hinged tibial insert trial. The hinged tibial insert trial includes a housing configured to be received in a femoral component and a button mechanism to selectively secure the hinged tibial insert trial to the femoral component. The system may include a shim trial sized to be attached to an inferior surface of the hinged tibial insert trial.

Joint soft tissue evaluation method
A method of evaluating soft tissue of a human joint which includes two or more bones and ligaments, wherein the ligaments are under anatomical tension to connect the bones together, creating a load-bearing articulating joint, the method includes: inserting into the joint a tensioner-balancer that includes a means of controlling a distraction force; providing an electronic receiving device; moving the joint through at least a portion of its range of motion; while moving the joint, controlling the distraction force, and collecting displacement and distraction load data of the bones; processing the collected data to produce a digital geometric model of the joint, wherein the model includes: ligament displacement data along a range of flexion angles and ligament load data along a range of flexion angles; and storing the digital geometric model for further use.
DEVICES FOR DYNAMIC SIZING AND SAGITTAL BALANCING IN TOTAL KNEE ARTHROPLASTY
The present disclosure describes one or more embodiment of devices for assisting femoral component placement in total knee arthroplasty. The device may include a distractor configured to provide a constant distracting force. The distractor may include a main body of the distractor, a tibial paddle fixedly connected to the main body, the tibial paddle configured to engage a top of a tibia, at least one femoral paddle configured to push against a bottom of a femur, a spring housing fixed on the main body of the distractor, and a coiled constant force spring disposed in the spring housing. The spring housing is attached to an outer end of the coiled constant force spring, and the coiled constant force spring is configured to apply the constant distracting force on the at least one femoral paddle. The device further includes a mechanical apparatus for locating an isometric point of the femur.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FORMING A CUSTOM CEMENT-ON-CEMENT ARTICULATING HIP SPACER
Aspects of the present disclosure include a device for forming a custom cement cast of an acetabular implant for a patient. The device includes an elongated handle, and a head coupled to a proximal end of the elongated handle. The head includes a body, a circumferential lip, and a nipple. The body of the head is shaped as a spherical cap, and includes a circular base and an apex. The circumferential lip extends radially outwardly from the circular base of the body. The nipple extends from the apex of the body in a direction perpendicular to the circular base.
INTERVERTEBRAL IMPLANT
An adjustable spinal fusion intervertebral implant is provided that can comprise upper and lower body portions that can each have proximal and distal wedge surf aces disposed at proximal and distal ends thereof. An actuator shaft disposed intermediate the upper and lower body portions can be actuated to cause proximal and distal protrusions to converge towards each other and contact the respective ones of the proximal and distal wedge surfaces. Such contact can thereby transfer the longitudinal movement of the proximal and distal protrusions against the proximal and distal wedge surfaces to cause the separation of the upper and lower body portions, thereby expanding the intervertebral implant. The upper and lower body portions can have side portions that help facilitate linear translational movement of the upper body portion relative to the lower body portion.
Load Sensor Balancer Instruments
Disclosed herein are apparatuses and methods for performing joint balancing procedures. The apparatus may have femoral paddle and a tibial paddle attached to a housing. The housing may include a distraction mechanism to vary the space between the femoral paddle and the tibial paddle. The tibial paddle may lie entirely within the femoral paddle in a closed position. A load sensor may be placed in the femoral paddle to measure ligament tension. The apparatus may be inserted into a knee joint and positioned to remain within the knee joint during flexion and extension of the knee without everting a patella.
