Carpometacarpal thumb brace
A brace for a carpometacarpal joint of a thumb includes a body made of an elastomeric material. The body includes a wrist strap configured to surround a wrist, a dorsal projection extending from the wrist strap, a first palmar strap extending between a proximal end connected to the wrist strap and a distal end configured to removably attach to the dorsal projection, and a second palmar strap extending between a proximal end connected to the wrist strap and a distal end configured to removably attach to the dorsal projection. The brace also includes a heat-moldable insert positioned within the body. The heat-moldable insert is configured so as to be positioned over a CMC joint of the thumb.
THUMB ORTHOSIS
A thumb orthosis, particular for correcting malpositions of the thumb in the carpometacarpal joint, includes a) a substantially dimensionally stable molded body bent in a U-shape, which is fitted on the hand between the thumb and index finger in the applied state and supports the thumb and fixes it at a distance from the index finger, wherein the molded body bent in a U-shape has a first end portion and a second end portion, and b) a strap which is fastened by one strap end to the first end portion of the molded body, wherein the second end portion of the molded body has a guiding element for guiding the strap, for example has a turning element for turning the strap back.
WRIST SUPPORT DEVICE
A support device for protecting one or more portions of a user's hand or arm by limiting movement thereof includes a base surface for contacting a floor or other object adjacent to the device, a curved support surface extending from the base surface, and a plurality or orifices formed in the support surface. A user's fingers and thumb can be placed through the orifices to allow the palm of the hand to rest on a portion of the support surface, suspending the heel of the hand above the support device and aligning the user's wrist with the heel. The fingers may remain freely suspended within the device.
THUMB ORTHOSIS AND SET OF A PLURALITY OF THUMB ORTHOSES
The invention relates to a thumb orthosis (2). The thumb orthosis (2) consists of a spreading body (1) which in particular has a bending elasticity and which serves for spreading a thumb (26) and a pointer finger (27). Furthermore, the thumb orthosis (2) comprises holding devices (22, 23) by which an end portion (28) of the spreading body (1) can be held at the thumb (26) as well as an end portion (29) of the spreading body (1) can be held at the pointer finger (27). The thumb orthosis (2) is exclusively held by the two holding devices (22, 23) at the hand (24) of the user wearing the thumb orthosis (2).
ORTHOSIS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING AN ORTHOSIS
The invention relates to an orthosis for a lower limb, with a foot part, which has a sole for supporting a foot, and with at least one leg rail, which extends from the foot part and, in the fitted state, extends along a lower leg and has devices for supporting and/or securing the leg rail on the lower leg, wherein the orthosis is assigned at least one sensor for detecting orthosis parameters, which sensor is coupled to a control device, and the foot part is assigned at least one device coupled to the control device and/or materials for changing the stiffness of the sole.
Wrist brace with welded thumb spica and method for making same
A soft goods-type upper extremity orthotic is disclosed that utilizes a combination of heated 3D tooling, HF energy, and pressure to thermally bond strengthening and anchoring injection molded elements to the outer layer of a base material. The brace of the present invention may have multiple fused/welded/bonded/heat components that are strategically placed to offer support and restriction of movement of the wrist, hand, and/or thumb (WHT) for the treatment of injuries to the distal upper extremity. The components are secured to a base fabric without stitching and, in a preferred embodiment, without traditional adhesives, to provide a sturdy and robust wrist brace or upper extremity orthosis that can be manufactured far more efficiently than prior art wrist braces.
SUPPORT DEVICE FOR MANUAL THERAPY
The invention relates to a shoulder joint abduction fixation orthotic device. The shoulder joint abduction fixation orthotic device comprises a forearm support frame, a C-shaped upper arm bracket, an armpit support frame, a line-shaped armpit movable shaft and an adjustable support. The forearm support frame, the C-shaped upper arm bracket and the armpit support frame are integrally formed and used for supporting the forearm, the upper arm and the armpit on one side respectively, the line-shaped armpit movable shaft is arranged between the C-shaped upper arm bracket and the armpit support frame, and the adjustable support with one end connected with the C-shaped upper arm bracket and the other end connected with the armpit support frame is used for adjusting the shoulder joint abduction angle. The shoulder joint abduction fixation orthotic device can effectively overcome the defects of an existing orthotic device and ensure the postoperative effect of shoulder periarticular operations.
Adjustable wrist brace
Some aspects of the present disclosure describe an orthopedic brace for a portion of a user's upper extremity distal to the elbow. The orthopedic brace includes a body configured to surround said portion of the user's upper extremity. The body includes a first region configured to stabilize said portion of the user's upper extremity. The orthopedic brace includes a second region coupled to the first region. The second region has sufficient elasticity to enable the body to adjust circumferentially to fit said portion of the user's upper extremity.
