The present invention relates to a medical article (10) for the prophylaxis of the formation and/or worsening of decubitus ulcers, containing a compress (12) and a skin contact layer (13), which skin contact layer can adhere to skin to be treated, wherein the compress (12) has a proximal surface and a distal surface and comprises a core (15) and a shell (14) surrounding the core (15); wherein the core (15) has a proximal surface and a distal surface and comprises a nonwoven material, which is composed of fibers and absorbent particles, wherein the compress (12) has a longitudinal direction having a first modulus of elasticity and a transverse direction having a second modulus of elasticity and the first modulus of elasticity is greater than the second modulus of elasticity.

PRESSURE APPLYING DRESSING

A dressing for applying pressure to a patient target site is provided. The dressing includes an elastic spacer longitudinally extending between first and second substrates. The elastic spacer is configured to be selectively moved between the first length and a second length. The second length is longer than the first length. A triggering element, when present, selectively maintains the elastic spacer at the second length and selectively prevents the elastic spacer from moving toward the first length. Portions of the triggering element are sequentially removable such that as each portion of the triggering element is removed, the elastic spacer sequentially moves from the second length toward the first length. The sequential movement of the elastic spacer from the second length toward the first length responsively urges the first and second substrates longitudinally toward one another to apply a predetermined amount of longitudinal force to the patient target site.

Compression device

Compression device (1) for application circumferentially around a patient's limb (10), comprising a) a first band portion (20a) and a second band portion (20b), both band portions (20) being arrangeable along at least a part of the circumference of the limb for creating radial pressure on the limb, b) a spine element (30), extending in axial direction (100) when the compression device is applied around the limb, and comprising a first and a second guide opening (40a, 40b) for guiding the first and the second band portions, respectively. The guide openings (40a, 40b) are arranged offset in axial direction with respect to each other such that, when the first band portion is arranged along at least a part of the circumference of the limb and guided through the first guide opening, and the second band portion is arranged along at least a part of the circumference of the limb, parallel to the first band portion, and guided through the second guide opening, the band portions overlap in an axial direction.

RIBBON WOUND DRESSING

An elongate wound dressing for packing a wound is described, the wound dressing being substantially planar and having a first longitudinal edge comprising at least one curved edge portion which is curved in the plane of the wound dressing.
