Apparatus for aspirating, irrigating and cleansing wounds
An apparatus for cleansing wounds in which irrigant fluid from a reservoir connected to a conformable wound dressing and wound exudate from the dressing are recirculated by a device for moving fluid through a flow path which passes through the dressing and a means for fluid cleansing and back to the dressing. The cleansing means (which may be a single-phase, e.g. microfiltration, system or a two-phase, e.g. dialytic system) removes materials deleterious to wound healing, and the cleansed fluid, still containing materials that are beneficial in promoting wound healing, is returned to the wound bed. The dressing and a method of treatment using the apparatus.

An apparatus and method for aspirating, irrigating and/or cleansing wounds is provided. The apparatus and method include one or more of the following: simultaneous aspiration and irrigation of the wound, supplying of thermal energy to fluid circulated through the wound; supplying physiologically active agents to the wound; a biodegradable scaffold in contact with the wound bed; and application of stress or flow stress to the wound bed.
Collagen/ORC dressing encapsulated within a bioresorbable envelope
Wound dressing compositions comprising of a bioresorbable sponge encapsulated within a polysaccharide envelope. The bioresorbable sponge is preferably comprised of collagen and oxidised regenerated cellulose. The outer polysaccharide envelope is preferably comprised of chitosan. The outer polysaccharide envelope functions to modulate the rate at which the bioresorbable sponge breaks down within a wound.

System and method for sealing an incisional wound
An apparatus, system, and method for treating an incisional wound having incisional walls. The apparatus includes a conduit having a first end for receiving reduced pressure and a second end. The apparatus further includes a scaffold. The scaffold has opposing surfaces for positioning adjacent the incisional walls and is fluidly coupled to the second end of the conduit for receiving the reduced pressure. The scaffold is generally elongated in shape and has a thickness between the opposing surfaces that is sufficiently thin for positioning within the incisional wound. The apparatus further includes an internal manifold that has a primary flow channel extending generally longitudinally within the scaffold and between the opposing surfaces of the scaffold. The internal manifold is fluidly coupled to the second end of the conduit. The application of the reduced pressure through the scaffold and the internal manifold induces tissue apposition between the incisional walls.

MULTILAYERED PRIMARY CONTACT WOUND DRESSING
The wound dressing described herein can be used as a contact layer dressing. The wound dressing can be positioned between a wound bed and a secondary dressing. The wound dressing can include a layered construction. Each of the layers can include a bioresorbable sponge enclosed within a collagen-based film. The wound dressing can include a plurality of fluid channels that enable fluid flow from the wound bed toward the environment-face side of the wound dressing.
Films and Methods of Manufacture
A flexible body comprises a polymer film having a first surface and an opposing second surface. The polymer film has a plurality of apertures extending from the first surface to the second surface and a plurality of raised lips protruding from the first surface such that each of the plurality of apertures is surrounded by one of the plurality of raised lips. A method of producing a polymer film comprises placing a polymer solution into a one sided mold having a plurality of protrusions extending from a bottom of the mold wherein the polymer solution is characterized by a viscosity that inhibits the unaided flow of the polymer throughout the mold; urging the polymer solution around each of the plurality of protrusions; and solidifying the polymer solution.
