Wound Covering Device
A wound covering device for providing non-contact wound protection. The wound covering device comprises a wound cover component shaped as a curved body, wherein the curved body does not come in contact with a wound site. The wound covering device further comprises a flexible base that absorbs any water or moisture that attempts to enter a wound area during a shower or bathing. The wound covering device may further comprise a sealing gasket in addition to the flexible base. Either the flexible base or the gasket are configured to conform to an irregular body surface providing a water-tight seal. At least one self-application securing strap may be used to secure the wound covering device to the body over a wound.
MEDICAL POLYURETHANE FOAM DRESSING AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
A medical polyurethane foam dressing and a preparation method thereof are provided in this disclosure. The medical polyurethane foam dressing includes a polyurethane film, a hydrophilic polyurethane foam layer compounded on the polyurethane film, a release paper provided on the hydrophilic polyurethane foam layer, and a soft silicone composite layer located below the release paper. The polyurethane film consists of a release film and a PU resin layer or TPU resin layer coated on the release film. Products prepared according to the disclosure not only can serve to absorb wound exudate of pressure sore, but also provides single-side water proofing; and it is sticky and can be stably fixed on the wound without easy displacement, thus ensuring continuous and stable liquid absorption.
Skin protection device
The present invention relates to a skin protection device comprising: a flexible cover having a first end and a second end. The cover comprises two sides extending between said first and second ends. The sides comprise seal sections capable of mutual engagement to form a seal. Each seal section includes a surface that is longitudinally serrated or undulating, wherein serration or undulation is provided on both sides of the section, a first female serrated or undulating side and a second male serrated or undulating side which when placed together form a mating pair and the seal. Each seal section is an extrusion as one part with a flat base and a plurality of serrations or undulations, folded and secured around the sides of the cover so that the flat base is in contact with both surfaces of the cover.
Devices and methods for body protection against moisture and contaminants
A nonpermeable enclosure formed from a clear, waterproof fabric, has a cover ridge for insertion into a channel so as to produce a barrier against moisture and contaminants, and is attached to a closure band for securing the nonpermeable enclosure over a wearer's hand.
Superhydrophobic, diatomaceous earth comprising bandages and method of making the same
A bandage comprising a substrate having a first surface with a plurality of superhydrophobic particles attached to the first surface. The plurality of superhydrophobic particles can be porous diatomaceous earth particles having a hydrophobic layer conforming to the surfaces of the DE particles, where the hydrophobic layer is bound to the DE particles. The plurality of attached superhydrophobic particles can render the first surface superhydrophobic, while a second surface opposite the first surface can be hydrophilic or hydrophobic. The substrate can be breathable in order to maintain skin health for the tissue underlying the bandage. The substrate can be selected from porous films, apertured films, textiles, nonwoven materials, impregnated composites thereof, and combinations thereof.
