Systems and methods for using negative pressure wound therapy to manage open abdominal wounds
Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to the treatment of wounds using negative pressure. Some embodiments disclosed herein provide for a foam pad, which may be suitable for use in abdominal wound sites, and which may be sized in a dimensionally-independent manner. Additional embodiments provide for a wound contact layer, as well as a system for the treatment of abdominal wounds.
Wound pads
Described are wound pads for use, e.g., as cavity wound fillers, having shapes with rounded corners, the projection on an X-Y plane of at least one corner having a curvature distinct from that of the projection of the other corners. Negative pressure systems and kits that includes such wound pads, and methods of using such wound pads are also described.
Negative pressure wound closure device and systems and methods of use in treating wounds with negative pressure
Certain embodiments described herein are directed to an elongated layer of material and a lip to be placed in contact with a wound and the elongated layer of material to be wrapped around a wound filler, their methods of use and systems incorporating the same, wherein the wound filler lip is configured to be positioned beneath the fascia. Additionally, some embodiments described herein are directed to the closure of the wound and the use of attachment mechanisms on the elongate layer and lip to attach to the wound surface.
Porous wound dressing for use in negative-pressure therapy
A porous wound dressing for use in negative-pressure therapy is proposed. The wound dressing has an outer edge which defines a substantially oval or rectangular outer shape of the wound dressing with a major axis and a minor axis. The wound dressing has one or more incisions or perforations which together form one or more arc-shaped lines and serve for cutting the wound dressing to size in order to adapt the wound dressing to the shape and/or size of a wound. The one or more arc-shaped lines each extend asymmetrically with respect to the major axis and/or to the minor axis and each enclose, together with a portion of the outer edge, a segment of the wound dressing that is designed for separation from the wound dressing.
WOUND PADS
Wound pads for use, e.g., as cavity wound fillers, having at least one incomplete cut being made of a plurality of cut segments and a plurality of connection regions are described. The wound pads can be useful in negative pressure would therapy systems and kits.
WOUND SENSOR AND DIAGNOSTICS SYSTEM FOR WOUND THERAPY APPLICATIONS
A therapy system for treating a tissue site with negative-pressure therapy and/or fluid instillation therapy in response to information received from a diagnostic unit is disclosed. In some embodiments, the therapy system may include a dressing, a diagnostic unit, a negative-pressure source, a fluid source, and a controller. The diagnostic unit may be placed on or within the dressing at the tissue site and may detect or measure one or more parameters associated with the tissue site. In response to the parameter(s) detected and/or measured, the controller of the therapy system may direct the therapy system to increase or decrease negative-pressure therapy and/or fluid instillation therapy. Additionally, the disclosed therapy system may include one or more sources of therapeutic compounds, which may provide doses of additional substances, such as an antimicrobial, to the tissue site in response to the detection or measurement of a particular parameter by the diagnostic unit.

Wound pad
Wound pads and systems and kits comprising wound pads whose total thickness can be modified by a user without the use of tools, comprising a plurality of separable layers having layer thicknesses less than the thickness of the wound pad. The wound pads may be used as wound fillers in the context of negative pressure wound therapy (also known as vacuum treatment, reduced pressure treatment).
