Transdermal Drug Delivery System for Delivering a Drug to a Patient
A system that transdermally delivers a drug to a patent can be used to reduce suffering from acute/chronical musculoskeletal pain. The system includes a backing layer, an adhesive layer, a topical applicator, a suitable quantity of drug, and a quantity of topical carrier. The topical applicator is connected across and against the backing layer by the adhesive layer. The suitable quantity of drug and the quantity of topical carrier are homogenously mixed together as a topical medication, which is retained and dispensed from the topical applicator. The topical applicator includes a flat applicator body, a plurality of blunted spikes, and a containment rim. The flat applicator body is the structural base of the topical applicator. The containment rim is used to perimetrically confine the topical medication. The blunted spikes are used to increase the surface area of the topical applicator in order to improve its retention of the topical medication.
WOUND CARE ARTICLES
Single layer and multi-layer anti-microbial wound care masks having a hydrophilic yarn containing silver and wound care articles are disclosed.
MULTI-FUNCTIONAL ANALGESIC-RELEASING WOUND DRESSING
A wound dressing including a porous biosynthetic polymer film comprising a poly(lactide-co-caprolactone) (“PLC”) copolymer or other suitable polymer matrix, and a local analgesic loaded therein, to provide pain relief over an extended period of time (e.g., for 5-7 days), e.g., for healing of a partial thickness dermal injury. The PLC copolymer may have a particular lactide/caprolactone molar ratio (e.g., from 2:1 to 9:1) to ensure slow, sustained release of the bupivacaine or other analgesic. The dressing may provide a water vapor transmission rate from 1000 g/m.sup.2.Math.day to 3000 g/m.sup.2.Math.day to facilitate fast healing and regrowth of new epithelial tissue beneath the dressing. The dressing is configured to remain positioned over the dermal injury, providing wound protection for about 14 days, after which is simply debrides away, falls off, or is easily and painlessly removed, once new epithelial tissue regrows.
Photosensitive Dyes and Method of Using Said Dyes
A bandage and a method of treating a wound with the bandage is provided. The method includes the steps of applying a photosensitive dye to the wound; covering the wound with a bandage; and applying a light to the dye such that the dye generates a reactive oxygen species.
ADHESIVE SHEET FOR AFFIXATION TO BODY, HOUSED IN CONTAINER
Provided is an adhesive sheet for affixation to the body which is excellent in enhancement and persistence of the blood circulation promoting action, has high affixability and conformability as a sheet, and is easily and widely applicable to the body in any use situation. That is, the present invention relates to an adhesive sheet for affixation to the body housed in a container, containing the following components (A) and (B): (A) bubbles containing carbon dioxide gas in a bubble fraction of 10% or more and 40% or less, and (B) water, wherein the total area occupied by bubbles having an imaginary diameter of 5 mm or more is 10% or less, in 100% of the surface area of the adhesive sheet for affixation to the body, a content of carbon dioxide gas in the total amount of the adhesive sheet for affixation to the body is from 100 to 20,000 ppm, and the adhesive sheet for affixation to the body is sealed in a low gas-permeable container.
Packaging material and packaging structure made by using same
The present invention provides a packaging material for a patch, the packaging material comprising: an inner layer film made of a polyethylene terephthalate-based resin having heat sealing properties; and a substrate film, wherein a heat-sealing surface of the inner layer film comprises an isophthalic acid-modified polyethylene terephthalate resin having a copolymerization ratio of isophthalic acid component of 10 mol % to 20 mol %. More preferably, the inner layer film made of the polyethylene terephthalate-based resin having heat sealing properties is a multi-layer film comprising at least two layers including a heat sealing surface side layer made of an isophthalic acid-modified polyethylene terephthalate resin having a copolymerization ratio of isophthalic acid component of 10 mol % to 20 mol % and a layer made of an isophthalic acid-modified polyethylene terephthalate resin having a copolymerization ratio of isophthalic acid component of 0 mol % to 5 mol %.
ELECTROCHEMICAL GASOTRANSMITTER GENERATING COMPOSITIONS AND BIMETALLIC CELLS FOR THE GENERATION OF GASOTRANSMITTERS
Therapeutic dressings, a process for the preparation of a gasotransmitter, and various methods are disclosed. A therapeutic dressing according to an embodiment includes a composition including an organic electrochemical mediator configured to reduce a gasotransmitter salt, and the gasotransmitter salt converting into a gasotransmitter upon reduction; a carrier adapted to contain the composition; and a bimetallic cell delivering current to the composition.
A DERMATOLOGIC TREATMENT APPARATUS
A dermatologic treatment apparatus comprising a light emitting part, for emitting light for dermatological treatment. The apparatus further comprises a skin treatment dressing. The skin treatment dressing is a bioactive dressing and is arranged to adhere to a user's skin, during use. The skin treatment dressing is arranged with the light emitting part such that, in use, light from the light emitting part passes to the skin treatment dressing. The skin treatment dressing is configured such that the light from the light emitting part passes through the skin treatment dressing to a user's skin.
