ORTHOSIS FOR A LOWER EXTREMITY OF A WEARER
An orthosis (1) for a lower extremity of a wearer, in particular for a foot and a lower leg of a wearer, preferably for wearers with diabetic foot syndrome or a neuropathic osteoarthropathy relating to the foot, comprising: a first orthosis part (2) which is to be arranged or which can be arranged on a lower leg of a wearer, a second orthosis part (3) which is to be arranged or which can be arranged on a foot of a wearer, and a third orthosis part (4) which connects the first and second orthosis part to one another, wherein
at least one of the orthosis parts (2-4) has a geometric-constructive design, at least in portions, possibly completely, which is individually configured on the basis of data describing a foot and/or a lower leg of a wearer.
METHODS AND MECHANISMS FOR MAINTAINING AN ELECTRO-ACTIVE POLYMER IN A PRE-STRETCH STATE AND USES THEREOF
In some embodiments, the present invention is directed to an actuator which includes at least the following: a pre-stretched electro-active polymer film being pre-stretched in a single or biaxial planar directions; at least one first semi-stiff conductor attached to a first surface of the pre-stretched electro-active polymer film, wherein the first surface is parallel to the single or biaxial planar stretch directions; at least one second semi-stiff conductor attached to a second surface of the pre-stretched electro-active polymer film, wherein the second surface is opposite to the first surface; where the semi-stiff conductors are configured to: fix the pre-stretched electro-active polymer film in a pre-stretched state and allow the pre-stretched electro-active polymer film to expand; a pair of mechanical connectors coupled to each end of an active region of the pre-stretched electro-active polymer film.
Ankle/foot orthosis
An ankle/foot orthosis with a foot part, which has a sole for receiving a foot, and with a shin part which, when fitted in place, bears on the frontal aspect of a shin and is connected to the foot part via a medially extending spring, wherein the spring, behind an ankle area, forms a hinge area that allows a movement of the shin part relative to the foot part in the anterior-posterior direction.
Load bearing assistance apparatus for lower extremity orthotic or prosthetic devices
A load bearing assistance apparatus for transferring load from a lower extremity orthotic or prosthetic device to the ground. The load bearing assistance apparatus includes a lateral and a medial spring-loaded members and a linking mechanism for connecting the load bearing assistance apparatus to the lower extremity orthotic or prosthetic device. The linking mechanism also connects the lateral and medial spring-loaded members in a spaced apart configuration so as to position them adjacent the lateral and medial portions, respectively, of the foot of the user of the lower extremity orthotic or prosthetic device and such that a portion of the lateral and medial spring-loaded members enters in contact with the ground during locomotion.
BRACE
A brace may include a knit portion with an ankle strap, a rigid shank on a bottom portion of the brace configured to cover at least an arch portion of the foot, a pad positioned below a heel of the foot, a webbing support system extending from the lateral extensor digitorum longus tendon around the peroneus longus retinaculum tendon, under the bottom of the foot to support the plantar tendon and up the arch and medial side of the foot to the extensor hallucis longus tendon, a lacing system threaded through a portion of the webbing support system at the top medial portion of the foot, and a tightening system that applies a pulling force on the lacing system to cinch the webbing support system.
Foot movement damping device and shoe for damping a foot movement via the ankle joint
A foot movement damper for damping a foot movement via the ankle joint, comprising a support arrangement for bearing on a lower leg and a holder arrangement for holding a foot, wherein a damping arrangement with at least one damping element is provided for damping a relative movement between the support arrangement and the holder arrangement, wherein the damping arrangement has a support binding for binding to the support arrangement and a holder binding for binding to the holder arrangement; and wherein the support arrangement has at least one bearing region and at least one bearing fixture, wherein the support arrangement can bear with the at least one bearing region over the malleolus of the ankle joint, and wherein the at least one bearing fixture is designed to fix the position of the at least one bearing region in a state when applied to the lower leg.
Foot differentiation scoring
Methods, systems, and non-transitory computer readable medium for foot differentiation scoring pertaining to an individual's differences in their two feet. A method includes receiving, from sensors of a scanning device, pressure and/or other measurement data corresponding to feet of a user. The method further includes preprocessing the pressure and/or measurement data. The method further includes generating, based on the preprocessed pressure and/or measurement data, a foot differentiation score based on differences between a left foot and a right foot of the user. The foot differentiation score may assign or correspond to a numerical rating based on how different the user's left foot and right foot are from each other.
Unloading Knee-Ankle-Foot Orthotic Apparatus with Conforming and Distracting Hinge
An adjustable knee ankle foot orthosis for unloading weight from a knee joint afflicted with osteoarthritis, thus reducing pain and improving mobility, comprising: an upper and lower frame connected by an unloading hinge assembly, optionally comprising a sensor and processor allowing for remote or automatic control of brace tension. In embodiments, the brace includes a user mechanism that is capable of adjusting a tensioning element while the brace is being worn. In other embodiments, electronic motors, sensors, and indicators may be included in the brace to improve brace performance and user interaction.
LOWER LIMB EXOSKELETON
An apparatus for an active exoskeleton boot is provided. The apparatus can include a foot plate disposed within a boot of a user. The apparatus can include a first adapter extending from a side surface of the foot plate having a slot and an actuator module comprising a chassis and a post, and the post coupled to the chassis. The apparatus can include a second adapter extending from an end surface of the post. The slot of the first adapter can be configured to engage the second adapter when the actuator module is positioned at a first angle relative to the first adapter. The first adapter can be configured to lock with the second adapter when the actuator module rotates from the first angle to a second angle relative to the first adapter.
THERAPEUTIC COMPRESSION APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHODS OF USE
A therapeutic compression system for providing gradient compression to a limb or other body part, including at least one therapeutic compression apparatus having at least one elastic sock or sleeve integral and connected to at least one wrap having at least one bladder and a universal inflation port to connect to an inflation means to the at least one bladder. The connecting means connects the at least one elastic sock or sleeve in one embodiment by buttons inserted and connected into apertures on the at least one wrap. The inflation port has an open and closed mechanism so that when closed it maintains the level of inflation in the at least one bladder. The inflation means provides either constant or varying pressure within the bladder and a check valve is included in the inflation port and/or inflation means. The inflation means may be connected to a stabilization means configured to be attached to a body part of the user or a belt or bag or other means around for example, the shoulder, leg, waist or arm of the body. The inventive therapeutic compression apparatus and system is stabilized and secured on the user when the user moves the target body part.
