INFLATABLE STENT FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT
An inflatable splint can include a sleeve shaped to conform to a specific human body part and a plurality of inflatable chambers disposed on the sleeve. The sleeve, in cooperation with the plurality of chambers in an inflated condition, can be contoured to maintain the specific human body part in a desired position. A method of using an inflatable splint includes admitting a body part into a sleeve of the inflatable splint and positioning the sleeve around the body part. One or more of the plurality of air chambers are selectively inflated such that the flexible sleeve in cooperation with the plurality of chambers in inflated condition is contoured and positioned to maintain the specific human body part in a desired position.
BRACE HAVING AN INFLATION CONTROL
Systems, methods, and devices are described for providing a brace having an inflation control. The control directs fluid flow from an inflation component to one or more inflatable cells of the brace. The inflatable cells are independently inflated and deflated by the inflation component through the control. The control allows a user to create a fluid path between the inflation component and one of the inflatable cells by positioning the control in an orientation corresponding to the desired inflatable cells. Each inflatable cell is independently inflated and deflated in various orientations of the control.
Orthotic device for use with user-operated tool
An orthotic device is coupleable to a fastener installation tool and is configured to be worn on an appendage of a user of the fastener installation tool. The orthotic device is configurable between a relaxed state and a rigid state, and includes at least one activation component responsive to an activation signal output by a controller in communication with the fastener installation tool. The at least one activation component changes the orthotic device from the relaxed state to the rigid state in response to operation of the fastener installation tool.
Knee Distractor Apparatus and Method
An Apparatus and method for distraction (stretching and/or straightening) of injured knee joints.
Pneumatic compression device with vibration and temperature control
A pneumatic compression assembly that includes a sleeve having an outer layer and an inner layer that defines a sleeve interior configured to receive a body part of a user, and at least a first vibration assembly configured to provide vibration to the body part of the user. A plurality of inflatable compartments are arranged longitudinally along the sleeve between the inner layer and the outer layer. The first vibration assembly includes a plurality of vibration motors positioned between the inner layer and the outer layer of the sleeve.

BUOYANCY-BASED CERVICAL TRACTION SYSTEM
A buoyancy-based cervical traction system has a floatation and a head rest supported by the flotation system. The head rest is adapted to support a person's head above the neck and apply traction to the neck when the person is in a body of liquid. The system has a position adjustment system adapted to allow selective adjustment of the position at which the person's head rest will be relative to an upper surface of the liquid when the person and the cervical traction system are in the liquid, the person's head is supported by the head rest, and the cervical traction system and person are floating in the liquid at equilibrium.
Vacuum Splint Apparatus for Accommodating the Chin of a Patient and Method for Using the Same
A particle filled neck brace is used for immobilizing the neck and chin of a patient and includes a vacuum pump disposed on the neck brace, which pump is communicated to the interior of the neck brace. After the neck brace is secured around the neck and chin of the patient, the vacuum pump is manipulated to remove air from the neck brace to form a rigid mold about the patient's neck and chin. The vacuum pump has a one way directional valve so that the neck brace remains in a rigid configuration for as long as the neck brace is applied to the patient. The neck brace also specifically forms a rigid mold over the patient's chin so as to immobilize the patient as well as to provide a comfortable fit without inducing further distracting the patient or restricting the patient's venous return blood flow.
IMPROVED MEDICAL APPARATUS FOR CONTAINING HAEMATOMAS
There is described a medical apparatus (1) for the containment of hematomas for treatment following operations for implanting cardiac devices. The apparatus comprises a support unit (2) externally enveloping at least a part of the patient's body and adapted to resist efforts aimed to detach said unit from said patient, at least one inflatable cushion (4) held in place over or close to the patient's shoulder by said support unit. The support unit comprises at least one pocket (10) arranged between the inflatable cushion and the patient s shoulder; the pocket comprises a material (11) configured to distribute the pressure of the cushion, once inflated, on the patient's shoulder. The inflatable cushion (40) is shaped so that, once inflated, it takes a wavy shape.
