System for applying a stoma cover
A system including a stoma cover and an applicator for applying a stoma cover for temporarily covering a stoma during exchange of an ostomy appliance. The stoma cover has a hood-like element with a proximal end portion and a distal end portion, wherein the proximal end portion of the hood-like element is configured to be adjustable to provide for a stoma entrance of the stoma cover to be of variable size, which can be manipulated using the applicator. Also disclosed is a stoma cover and a kit of parts.
A METHOD OF MANUFACTURING AN OSTOMY APPLIANCE
A method of manufacturing an ostomy appliance including: a first wall and a second wall which are connected to each other at or near their peripheries to form a main body having an internal cavity for collecting waste, and an opening, and an outlet portion, formed from outlet layers and having an entrance, which is fluidly connected to the internal cavity, and an exit, which permits waste collected in the internal cavity to be emptied. The method can include attaching the outlet portion to the main body by: positioning the outlet portion, relative to the opening in the main body so that the entrance aligns with the opening, and positioning a soluble member such that the first wall and first outlet layer are positioned to one side of the soluble member and the second wall and second outlet layer positioned to an opposing side of the soluble member.
ENDOLUMINAL STOMA DEVICE
A colostomy device, which can be referred to as an endoluminal stoma channel, is provided which incorporates a generally cylindrical membrane, with a ring located at either end: an inner luminal ring which is located within the bowel and an outer ring which is rolled over itself to abut against the skin, to which a colostomy bag may be attached. In a corresponding system (stoma discharge control system), the colostomy device (endoluminal stoma channel) is associated with a cover or cap that can facilitate control of discharge from the stoma, and various cover/cap structures are described. Corresponding methods are described.
AN OSTOMY APPLIANCE
An ostomy appliance including: first and second walls connected to each other at or near their peripheries; a stoma-receiving opening for receipt of a stoma; a collecting cavity defined between the first and second walls wherein the stoma-receiving opening is fluidly connected to the collecting cavity; a connection member connected to the first and/or second wall for attaching the appliance to a user or for attaching the appliance to a flange for attaching the appliance to a user; an outlet which extends away from the stoma-receiving opening, the outlet including an outlet wall and terminating in an opening; and a user graspable member for assisting in moving the outlet opening from a first, closed, condition to a second, open, condition; wherein the user graspable member includes a graspable portion and an attachment portion, the attachment portion being positioned closer to the stoma-receiving opening than the graspable portion; wherein the attachment portion is attached to the outlet wall.
OSTOMY APPLIANCE
An ostomy appliance according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: an attachment part attached to the skin of a user; a cover assembly part disposed on the top surface of the attachment part and continuously dispensing plastic film into which excrement flows; and a sealing part that is coupled to one side of the cover assembly part and thermally seals a portion of the dispensed plastic film.
EASY EMPTY URINE COLLECTION BAGS
Urinary catheter collection bags and methods for using the same are provided. The collection bags allow users to more easily, cleanly and comfortably open and empty the bags.
Colostomy clip bag holder
A closure assistant for colostomy bag clip is disclosed. The closure assistant helps a patient in closing and opening of the colostomy bag clip. The closure assistant consists of a flat panel with multiple slots on its upper surface. The slots are designed to fit different types of clips of the colostomy bag. The slots of the closure assistant are of different shapes to support different kinds of clips. The closure assistant accommodates either curved or linear type of clips. The closure assistant helps the patients, suffering from medical issues requiring an ostomy pouching system or colostomy bag and the related problems of using colostomy bag.
OSTOMY PRODUCT WITH MESH INTERNAL COLLECTION MEMBER FOR GAS PASSAGE
An ostomy pouch has a body side wall and a distal side wall defining a collection chamber. An opening is provided in the body side wall. A barrier is operably mounted to the body side wall over the opening. The barrier has an inlet opening. An internal collection member is mounted to the barrier. The internal collection member includes a tubular net having a first open end and a second closed end, and a ring-shaped capsule for storing the net inside the capsule in a collected manner. The ring-shaped capsule has an open central region and is mounted to the barrier with the capsule open central region and the barrier inlet opening aligned with one another to define a pouch inlet. The capsule extends into the pouch collection chamber and the first open end of the net is mounted to the capsule overlying the pouch inlet. Excretion is inlet to the pouch and is discharged into the net, paying out the net.
Enteric fistula, rectovaginal fistula, and ostomy effluent containment system, and devices and methods thereof
A skin-safe effluent containment system that may be used to contain fluid leakage from openings in the body of a patient and will adhere to skin in any condition: healthy or injured, wet or dry, smooth, scarred, or uneven. Fluid leakage can occur from natural orifices such as the anus and vagina, spontaneously formed enteric fistulas, rectovaginal fistulas, and surgical openings such as ileostomy and colostomy stomas. The system includes a vacuum-adherent pouch device, comprised of a pouch connected to a porous foam ring which has an air-permeable contact layer on its bottom surface and an air seal on its top surface. The inner and outer perimeters of the foam ring are enclosed and sealed with skin-adhesive materials. When placed on the patient, negative pressure (vacuum) is applied to the foam ring so that the foam collapses and compresses the vacuum-adherent pouch device down against the patient's skin. Negative pressure in combination with the adhesive materials on the perimeters of the foam ring forms a fluid barrier around the opening in the body of the patient so that leakage can be directed into the pouch and drawn away to a separate effluent container.
Ostomy output diversion device
An ostomy output diversion device is used to cover and seal closely around a patient's stoma, to divert stoma effluent output through the device, into a container or reservoir, temporarily eliminating the need of an adhesive-based ostomy pouching system. The ostomy output diversion device is placed over the person's stoma, with the base ring surrounding the peristomal skin, the adjustable inner tube is retracted until the base ring is centered over the stoma, the body support strap is then placed over the device to secure it to the patient's body, the inner tube is then extended over the stoma, the patient applies the desired pressure against the skin, then secures the inner tube in place with the pressure adjustment lock. The device may also include an ostomy pouch mounting ring for attachment to an ostomy pouch, and a disposable receptacle.
