Unisex Urine Collection Assembly
20230052238 · 2023-02-16 ·

A unisex urine collection assembly for use by either sex in a non-ambulatory setting includes a tube, which has a cutout positioned in a top face thereof and extending from proximate to a midpoint toward a first end thereof. A second end of the tube is closed. A connector engaged to the first end of the tube can engage a conduit extending from a suctioning unit. Each of a pair of pads is engaged to the tube and extends from a respective opposed edge of the cutout thereinto so that the pads defines a slot. The pads are resiliently flexible and can sealably engage skin of the user. The pads can be positioned between labia of a female user or to bracket a penis inserted into the slot by a male user. Urine expelled by the user is suctioned from the tube into a reservoir.

An Anti-Microbial Coated Urethral Plug for CAUTI Reduction
20230009148 · 2023-01-12 ·

Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to an anti-microbial coated urethral plug to reduce catheter associated urinary tract infections (“CAUTI”). A urethral plug is configured to engage a urinary catheter and includes a plug body defining a frustum shape, a lumen configured to receive the urinary catheter, and a slit extending longitudinally and extending from the lumen to a side surface of the plug body. The plug can further include one of a textured surface and a coating disposed on an outer surface and configured to mitigate microbial adhesion. A distal portion of the plug is configured to fit within a urethral opening to create a seal between the side surface of the plug body and the urethral opening. The urethral plug includes coatings, textured surfaces, or the like, and provides protection against the extra-luminal migration of microbes that may cause CAUTI.

EXPANDABLE FEMALE URINARY DEVICE PROBE
20230233358 · 2023-07-27 ·

A female urinary diagnostic device including a urine stream collection container having a discharge opening and a stream collection opening, the stream collection opening being configured to surround and isolate a urethral opening, a probe guide passage configured for interior engagement with a vaginal opening for placement of the stream collection opening relative to the urethral opening, and an internal baffle that defines an interior wall of the urine stream collection container that provides a spillway from the stream collection opening to the discharge opening and cooperates with at least a urine sensing device, where the spillway provides urine passage to the urine sensing device and a collection tank, wherein the internal baffle forms at least a portion of the probe guide passage and defines a sounding probe guide surface that positions a sounding probe within the vaginal opening.

External Female Gravity-Based Drainage
20230023781 · 2023-01-26 ·

Embodiments described herein are directed to an external, female, gravity-based drainage system. The system includes a body having a front side and a rear side and a drainage tube extending from a bottom side. The body can include a finger groove disposed on the front side and configured to allow a user to grasp the body from the front side alone without any opposing force applied to the rear side. The user can then position the funnel, disposed on the rear side of the body, over a labia region to capture any fluids voided therefrom. The fluids can be directed towards the lumen of the drainage tube and directed towards a suitable receptacle. Advantageously, the shape of the drainage system can be easily grasped and manipulated from a single side which can be important for patients with limited manual dexterity.

A FLUID COLLECTION SYSTEM INCLUDING A GARMENT AND A FLUID COLLECTION DEVICE

Example fluid collection systems and methods of use are described. The fluid collection system includes a garment and a fluid collection device. The garment is configured to be worn on a pelvis of a user, and includes at least a crotch portion having an inner surface and at least one of a strap partially defining a through hole between the strap and the inner surface or a pocket on the inner surface of the crotch portion. The at least one of the strap or the pocket are positioned on the crotch portion of the garment and the fluid collection device is sized to position the opening and the fluid permeable body proximate to a urethra of the user.
