RESOURCE PROVISIONING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A method for a first set of processors and a second set of processors comprises, the first set of processors processing a set of queries, as a result of a change in utilization of the first set of processors, processing the set of queries using the second set of processors. The change in processors is independent of a change in storage resources, the storage resources shared by the first set of processors and the second set of processors.
Apparatus and kit for an oral appliance and method for using same
An oral appliance and kit therefor is disclosed. The oral appliance may include generally U-shaped upper and lower body members and a pair of adjustment plates or spacers for removably connecting the upper body member with the lower body member. The generally U-shaped upper and lower body members are adapted to be positioned over at least a portion of first and second arches of teeth, respectively, with the spacers having a system of pins or pegs for adjustably repositioning the upper body member with respect to the lower body member. The upper and lower body members are further configured to provide a lingual-less open space between the upper and lower body members to accommodate a tongue in a relaxed state. The disclosed oral appliance, system and kit therefor is configured for use in correcting the misalignment of a user's jaw.
Mandibular repositioning device
An intra-oral device includes an upper splint, a lower splint and a pair of lateral connecting rods. Each connecting rod has a first rod end that connects to the lower splint and a second rod end that connects to the upper splint. The connecting rods are configured to maintain the mandible in an advanced position relative to the maxilla. The upper splint includes at least one upper gutter portion that retains the upper splint on the maxilla. The lower splint includes at least one lower gutter portion that retains the lower splint on the mandible. The thickness of the at least one upper gutter portion and/or the at least one lower gutter portion may vary across the profile of the teeth.
Wire and ramps in sleep habit corrector
A habit corrector appliance including a front portion, a first ramp and a second ramp extending from the front portion. The first ramp is located at a high position adjacent to or at a user's palate to ensure the tongue is positioned at the palate which widens the palate and which also prevents or reduces mouth breathing. The second ramp is located at a position lower than and beneath the first ramp, wherein the second ramp substantially prevents the tongue from entering a lower space within the oral cavity, wherein the first ramp aids in an elevated tongue position and the patient learns to swallow with the tongue elevated to substantially reduce or prevent air from entering the oral cavity through the mouth and to prevent mouth breathing. Slits at the ramp sides allow for lateral expansion of the appliance. Lingual tabs promote proper anterior positioning of the jaws. A lingual wire with narrower anterior wire extensions can provide a widening of the arch and movement of the upper incisors and maxilla in a forward position.
TONGUE RETAINER
A tongue grasping and restraining device holds the tongue securely during sleep in order to minimize the risk of the tongue slipping back and blocking the throat, a condition known as obstructive sleep apnea. Plural tongue gripping projections are coupled to upper and lower supports. The projections engage and hold the tongue. One or more of the upper and lower supports are biased together into a tongue engaging position. A tongue depressor can extend rearwardly and downwardly from the upper support to depress the user's tongue to further open the user's airway. The position of the tongue depressor can be adjustable. The upper support is coupled to the user's upper jaw, for example, to a denture, dental appliance or other form of an upper jaw coupler and can be pivoted thereto. The lower support can be hinged to, fixed to, or otherwise joined to a lower jaw coupler. A tube and rod mechanism in one embodiment couples the upper and lower jaw couplers together.
DENTAL APPLIANCE
A dental appliance is provided. The dental appliance includes a dental form configured to receive a portion of a dental arch of an individual, and an adhesive strip comprising a first side and a second side. The first side of the adhesive strip is attached to a portion of the dental form. The second side of the adhesive strip comprises a mucoadhesive configured to adhere the adhesive strip to a tongue of the individual such that the tongue of the individual can be selectively attached to the dental appliance.
ORAL APPLIANCES AND METHODS OF USE
Oral appliances, and systems and methods, which include oral appliances are described herein. An example oral appliance device for treatment of a sleep disorder or condition in a subject can include an upper portion configured to receive at least one maxillary tooth of the subject, and a lower portion configured to receive at least one mandibular tooth of the subject. The upper and lower portions are engageable such that the portions maintain a restricted orientation relative to each other when engaged, and the engaged restricted orientation is configured to maintain the mandible of the subject in a predetermined clinically beneficial orientation relative to the maxilla.
INSERTABLE AND PREFABRICATED ATTACHMENTS FOR AN ORAL APPLIANCE
A plastic shell such as an orthodontic aligner has an interior shape that substantially conforms to a current or future dental arch of a patient. The plastic shell includes a hollow feature comprising a cavity. The plastic shell additionally includes an object inserted into the cavity, wherein the object provides structural strength to the plastic shell at a location of the hollow feature and does not interfere with a fit of the plastic shell onto the dental arch of the patient.
MANDIBLE DISPLACEMENT ADJUSTMENT DEVICE
A mandible displacement adjusting device includes an upper braces and a lower braces, wherein the upper braces and the lower braces have an upper teeth accommodation space and a lower teeth accommodation space, the upper teeth accommodation space and the lower teeth accommodation space are made based on the tooth shape, and fits on the upper and lower dental arches of the human body respectively, and the side walls of the upper braces and lower braces extend out a first positioning part and a second positioning part corresponding to the upper molar area and the lower molar area. When the user wear the upper braces and the lower braces, the first positioning part and the second positioning part would be driven to fit together, and maintain a movable displacement space, so that when the mandible of the human body is moved forward and fixed, it will not cause the mandible of the human body due to tightening, neither cause the discomfort at the condyle, while avoiding the back of the tongue slumping down and blocking the breathing passage.
Apparatus and methods for the treatment of sleep apnea
A medical apparatus for the treatment of one or more sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea in a patient is provided. The apparatus has an elongate member with a middle portion, a first fixation element and a second fixation element. The middle portion applies a force to a segment of a patient's airway.
