PATIENT TRANSPORTING DEVICE USING A DOCKING MEMBER FOR AN EMERGENCY MEDICAL VEHICLE
20220054331 · 2022-02-24 ·

The present disclosure provides a patient transporting device having a docking member at one end of the patient transporting device that allows to attach to and detach from a receiving portion of the patient loading systems in an emergency vehicle. The device includes a moveable base member that a patient lies down on, a pathway member for the base member to slidably move along tracks of the pathway member, and a docking member at one end of the pathway member that fits and mates with the receiving portion of the vehicle. In operation, the docking member docks with the receiving portion and establishes an extended bridge formed of the pathway member and the docking member of the device and the receiving portion of the vehicle. The extended bridge has a substantially coplanar surface so that the patient lying down on the base member may be easily loaded to the vehicle.

Modified door opening of a motorized vehicle for accommodating a ramp system and method thereof

A method of increasing a door opening width of a crossover vehicle to accommodate a wheelchair ramp or lift assembly. The method includes positioning a template on a B pillar and a template on a C pillar and marking cut lines on the pillars. The method includes cutting along the cut lines with a cutting tool to remove portions of the B pillar and the C pillar. A B pillar cover assembly is assembled and a reinforcement plate is coupled to a remaining portion of the C pillar. An adhesive is applied to the B pillar cover assembly and to a C pillar cap. A modified B pillar is produced by coupling the B pillar cover assembly to a remaining portion of the B pillar, and a modified C pillar is produced by coupling the C pillar cap to the reinforcement plate and the remaining portion of the C pillar.

Height adjustable wheelchair docking system

A height adjustable wheelchair docking system for releasably securing a wheelchair to the floor of a transport vehicle includes: a base frame with an open end, and for rigid attachment to the floor of a transport vehicle; a middle frame for sliding back and forth in a horizontal direction within the base frame and through the open end; means to slide the middle frame in relation to the base frame; and a top frame for covering at least a part of the base frame and middle frame, and to move up and down in a vertical direction in relation to the base frame when the middle frame is sliding back and forth in a horizontal direction within the base frame and through the open end. The top frame further includes a female or male docking fixture for locking engagement with a male or female docking fixture on a wheelchair.

Apparatus to load and unload a mobility device

An apparatus to load and unload a mobility device includes a base, a first actuating assembly, a second actuating assembly, a shuttle, and a lift arm assembly. The first actuating assembly and the second actuating assembly are oppositely positioned of each other about the base so that a linear actuator of the first actuating assembly and the second actuating assembly can rotatably mount to the base about a first rotational axis. Rotation of the linear actuators moves up and down the lift arm assembly as the linear actuator of the first actuating assembly and the second actuating assembly are rotatably mounted to the lift arm assembly about a second rotational axis. The shuttle that receives the mobility device is rotatably mounted to the lift arm assembly about a third rotational axis so that the mobility device can be loaded and unloaded from a cargo space of a transportation vehicle.
