Medical support apparatus
A medical chair includes a base, a seat section, and a leg rest pivotally mounted relative to the seat and adapted to move between an extended position and a retracted position. The chair further includes a scissor mechanism coupled to the leg rest to extend and contract the leg rest and an actuator mounted on one end relative to the seat section and having an extendible driving end coupled to the leg rest wherein when the extendible driving end extends the extendible driving end pivots the leg rest about the pivot axis and extends the scissor mechanism.
ADVANCED WHEELCHAIR
An advanced manually propelled wheelchair (100) is described. The wheelchair (100) has a chassis (110). In certain examples this may be a single piece design. The wheelchair (100) may further have one or more of a load adjustment mechanism (150) and a power-assist mechanism. The load adjustment mechanism (150) is configured to adjust a position of a set of rear wheels (120) for the wheelchair (100) relative to a loading of the wheelchair (100). Load adjustment may be performed based on a sensed loading. The power-assist mechanism provides a powered torque to a set of front wheels (130) to help a user propel the wheelchair (100) or to stabilise the wheelchair (100) during use. The power-assist mechanism may be provided as a set of modular front wheel units.
Wheelchair rear wheel support assembly and detachable armrest
A wheelchair rear wheel support assembly and a detachable arm assembly is described. The rear wheel support assembly is adjustable by finite adjustment both in the horizontal and vertical planes whereby to adjust the position of the rear wheels at a center of gravity to suit a user person to optimize the efforts of propulsion of the wheelchair by the user and thereby significantly increasing its quality of life. The detachable armrest is easily adjustable in height and can be pivoted away from its position of use by simple hand-operating levers easily accessible to the user person. It can also be easily removed with little effort.
Adjustable Chair
An adjustable chair includes upper and lower base members, a seat assembly secured to the upper base member, and a chair adjusting mechanism. In an embodiment the upper base member is connected to the lower base member by first and second linking members each having a first end connected to the lower base member and a second end slideably received in corresponding first and second arcuate tracks disposed in the upper base member, such that movement of the second ends into and out of the tracks results in vertical movement of the seat assembly relative to the base. In a further embodiment the seat bottom and seat base comprise cooperating arcuate rails, tracks, and/or bearing members, where cooperative action of the arcuate rails, tracks, and/or bearing members enables the seat bottom to tilt relative to the seat base. In a further embodiment the seat bottom and seat back comprise cooperating arcuate rails, tracks, and/or bearing members, where cooperative action of the arcuate rails, tracks, and/or bearing members enables the seat back to recline relative to the seat bottom.
Transportation device and stabilizer for same
A transportation device and an automatic tilt stabilizer are disclosed herein. The transportation device has a structure with wheels joined by a shaft to a platform or chassis configured to support a basket, a mat, a seat and/or a tray. The automatic tilt stabilizer is configured to automatically stabilize the inclination of the platform or chassis, and includes a tilt sensor configured to detect an inclination of the platform or chassis, and a motor activated by a microcontroller configured to correct the inclination of the platform or chassis, so that the platform or chassis returns to a predefined inclination.
Lovemaking apparatus for the disabled with pivoting tabletop platform and pivoting wheelchair seat
The lovemaking apparatus includes a table having a slidable platform pivotally mounted in a U-shaped opening defined in an end of the table and a wheelchair having a chair assembly that is pivotally mounted on a wheelchair frame. The wheelchair may be rolled to the platform end of the table so that the seat and leg rest portion of the chair assembly is below the free end of the platform, linear actuators may be actuated to pivot the platform at an angle using switches mounted at the platform end of the table, and the platform may be slid downward towards the seat of the chair assembly of the wheelchair. Linear actuators mounted on the wheelchair frame may be actuated to tilt the back of the chair assembly rearward and raise the seat of the chair assembly upward to position partners for sexual relations.
Conveyance for surmounting obstacles
A conveyance for surmounting obstacles which includes a first ground engaging arrangement, and a second ground engaging arrangement, and the first and second ground engaging arrangements are operable to move in an alternating sequence of movements to enable the conveyance to surmount obstacles. The conveyance is statically balanced alternately by one then the other of the ground engaging arrangements throughout the sequence of movements. Each ground engaging arrangement includes a forwardly disposed portion and a rearwardly disposed portion which are spaced apart from one another. Each ground engaging arrangement further includes an obstacle accommodating region located between the forwardly disposed portion and the rearwardly disposed portion which can accommodate a portion of an obstacle being surmounted during use.
LIFT CHAIR ASSEMBLY
Embodiments of the present invention disclose a lift chair assembly for assisting a user to transition between sitting and standing. The assembly includes a frame body, a backrest member coupled to the frame body, a seat member coupled to the frame body and configured to pivot about an axis relative to the frame body independently from the backrest member such that the seat member pivots between a neutral position and an elevated position, a motor that selectively pivots the seat member, and a controller that selectively engages the motor to pivot the seat member
Seat positioning system for a wheelchair
A seat positioning system includes a base frame having a pair of forward slots and a pair of rear slots, and a seat frame having a front end and a back end. The seat frame is coupled to the base frame and movable relative to the base frame. A first pair of linkages is slideably coupled to the pair of forward slots and connects the frames. A first pair of locking devices has a locked configuration adapted to prevent the first pair of linkages from sliding relative to the pair of forward slots and an unlocked configuration adapted to allow the first pair of linkages to slide relative to the pair of forward slots. A second pair of linkages slideably is coupled to the pair of rear slots and connects the frames. An actuator is pivotally connected to both the seat frame and the base frame and is configured to extend and contract to move the seat frame relative to the base frame.
