CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE SPEED CONTROLLER, ELECTRIC LIFT MECHANISM, AND ELECTRIC MASSAGING MECHANISM
A continuously variable speed controller comprises an operating unit, an operation detector coupled to the operating unit to detect a continuous variation of an action of the operating unit, an information processor electrically connected to the operation detector to obtain a corresponding motor speed variation quantity based on a detection result from the operation detector, and a motor controller electrically connected to the information processor to receive the motor speed variation quantity and adjust a speed of the motor continuously based on the motor speed variation quantity. As such, speed control becomes more intuitive, and can achieve stepless speed change, while no need to set the speed switch to occupy the control and detection ports, simplifying structure of the product.

POWERED CHAIRS FOR PUBLIC VENUES, ASSEMBLIES FOR USE IN POWERED CHAIRS, AND COMPONENTS FOR USE IN ASSEMBLIES FOR USE IN POWERED CHAIRS
A remotely controlled powered chair may include a support frame, a seat pivotally mounted on the support frame, an rotary actuator mounted between the support frame and the seat to drive the seat to move relative to the support frame, a backrest pivotally mounted on the seat, and a linear actuator mounted between the seat and the backrest to drive the backrest to move relative to the seat. Thus, the rotary actuator may be controlled by an electrically control device to drive the seat to pivot relative to the support frame reciprocally in a pendulum manner so that the seat is pivoted relative to the support frame automatically. In addition, the linear actuator may be controlled by the electrically control device to adjust the inclined angle of the backrest so as to provide a comfortable sensation to the user. A remotely controlled powered chair may include a base assembly. A chair frame is supported on the base assembly. An actuator mechanism may communicate with the base assembly and the chair frame, and is operable to actuate the chair frame between first and second positions.
Methods and apparatuses for prophylactically treating undetected kidney stones using mechanical waves produced from a tactile transducer
Apparatuses and methods utilizing tactile transducers to create mechanical waves that travel through an individual's body to the kidneys to dislodge kidney stones. Embodiments include a structural member with at least one tactile transducer, an amplifier, and a controller. The tactile transducer(s) produce mechanical waves, and the structural member enables projection of the mechanical waves produced by the tactile transducer(s) toward at least one kidney to dislodge kidney stones. The amplifier is electronically coupled to the at least one tactile transducer, and the controller is electronically coupled to the amplifier and configured to determine the mechanical waves produced by the at least one tactile transducer.
Device for producing continuous negative abdominal pressure
This disclosure relates to device for providing continuous negative abdominal pressure (CNAP) which selectively recruits (inflates) the dorsal (spinal region) collapsed areas of the lung, while enabling the patient to remain in the supine (usual) position. The CNAP device includes a rigid frame configured to have a shape and size to envelop a patient's lower chest and abdominal area while in a supine position with the frame having opposed edges which sit on a surface on which the supine patient is resting. A series of panels are mounted in the frame such that the series of panels extend around the patient's lower chest and abdominal area. A flexible sheet wrapped around the outside of the panels and is long enough to extend up to the patient's upper chest and down to the patient's thighs and wide enough to envelop the supine patient's lower chest and abdominal area. Sealing members are to seal the flexible sheet over the frame and panels and around the patient's lower chest and pelvis, wherein a chamber is formed between the patient and said device when the patient is enveloped by the device. An air inlet coupling extends through one of the panels and is attachable to a suction source which is configured to generate negative pressure of between about −5 to about −10 cm H.sub.2O inside the chamber.
