Light control devices and methods for regional variation of visual information and sampling
Exemplary light control devices and methods provide a regional variation of visual information and sampling (“V-VIS”) of an ocular field of view that improves or stabilizes vision, ameliorates a visual symptom, reduces the rate of vision loss, or reduces the progression of an ophthalmic or neurologic condition, disease, injury or disorder. The V-VIS devices and methods generate a moving aperture effect anterior to a retina that samples and delivers to the retina environmental light from an ocular field of view at a sampling rate between 50 hertz and 50 kilohertz. Certain of these V-VIS devices and methods may be combined with augmented or virtual reality, vision measurement, vision monitoring, or other therapies including, but not limited to, pharmacological, gene, retinal replacement and stem cell therapies.

The source of alternating current is configured to generate cold plasma in the air conduit.
Meibomian Gland Roller System with Eye Pads
An eye treatment system can comprise a roller with a handle, a power source, control circuitry coupled to the power source, an axle, coupled to the handle, a heating element within the roller, a cylinder configured to rotate about the axle, a temperature sensor adjacent to a surface of the cylinder, with the temperature sensor spaced apart from the heating element, and one or more arms of the roller that couple a first end of the handle to the axle, wherein at least one of the one or more arms houses first wiring through which power is supplied from the power source to the heating element and houses second wiring connecting the temperature sensor to the control circuitry. The treatment system might also comprise an eye pad comprising a heat-retaining material and sized to be applied to an eyelid of a user when warmed. The eye pad could be gel-filled.
Thermal skin treatment device
The invention relates to a thermal skin treatment device comprising a skin contact component with a skin contact surface; a thermal energy component in thermal contact with the skin contact component; a temperature control circuit electrically connected to the thermal energy component and comprising a user interface; and an energy source electrically connected to said thermal energy component for energy supply. Said temperature control circuit is adapted to control an amount of energy supplied from said energy source to said thermal energy component such that a first predetermined temperature is maintained at the skin contact surface for a first duration, or a second predetermined temperature is maintained at the skin contact surface for a second duration, wherein said first predetermined temperature is in a range of 40° C.+/−2° C., and wherein said second predetermined temperature is in a range of 19° C.+/−2° C. The temperature control circuit is adapted to maintain for a predetermined duration, during operation, only said first predetermined temperature or said second predetermined temperature at the skin contact surface. The invention further relates to a method for non-therapeutic treatment of a human eye region by means of a thermal skin treatment device according to the invention.
Visual function test device, visual function training device, and method thereof
The visual function test device of an embodiment comprises a test subject display device and an operator display device. A target display portion displays a target image to be viewed by the test subject onto the test subject display device. A visual axis estimation portion estimates a visual axis of the test subject when the target image is viewed. A position display portion displays a display position of the test target image and a viewpoint position that corresponds to the estimated visual axis, onto the operator display device, and thus a tester can objectively recognize a gazing state of the test subject and surely perform the test, which enhances the reliability of the test.
VISION-ASSIST DEVICES AND METHODS OF CALIBRATING IMAGE DATA OF A VISION-ASSIST DEVICE
Vision-assist devices and methods are disclosed. In one embodiment, a vision-assist device includes an image sensor for generating image data corresponding to a scene, a processor, and an inertia measuring unit. The inertia measuring unit is configured to measure forces acting on the image sensor and the orientation of the image sensor. The processor is configured to receive the image data from the image sensor and process the force and orientation of the image sensor so as to determine a tilt of the image sensor. The processor is further configured to process the image data based on at least the tilt of the at least one image sensor so as to generate a corrected image data, wherein the corrected image data does not include the tilt.
