Coronavirus vaccine
The present invention is directed to a nucleic acid suitable for use in treatment or prophylaxis of an infection with a coronavirus, preferably with a Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, or a disorder related to such an infection, preferably COVID-19. The present invention is also directed to compositions, polypeptides, and vaccines. The compositions and vaccines preferably comprise at least one of said nucleic acid sequences, preferably nucleic acid sequences in association a lipid nanoparticle (LNP). The invention is also directed to first and second medical uses of the nucleic acid, the composition, the polypeptide, the combination, the vaccine, and the kit, and to methods of treating or preventing a coronavirus infection, preferably a Coronavirus infection.
Broad spectrum influenza virus vaccine
The disclosure relates to broad spectrum influenza virus ribonucleic acid (RNA) vaccines, as well as methods of using the vaccines and compositions comprising the vaccine. In a preferred embodiment, the vaccine is formulated as a lipid nanoparticle comprising at least one cationic lipid.
SECRETABLE PROTEIN INDUCED IMMUNE TOLERIZATION AND TREATMENT OF AUTOIMMUNE, ALLERGIC AND OTHER DISEASES AND DISORDERS
Nucleic acids encoding fusion proteins that contain an unwanted antigen and a leader sequence for cell secretion are described. Also described are expression cassettes, vectors, cells, and cell lines containing the nucleic acids, as well as methods of using the nucleic acids to treat autoimmune, allergic and other diseases and disorders, such as multiple sclerosis.
MULTIVALENT INFLUENZA VACCINES
Provided are octavalent influenza vaccine compositions comprising eight mRNA, each mRNA comprising an open reading frame encoding a different influenza antigen. Also provided are lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for delivering said mRNA.
Immunogenic formulations comprising linear or branched polyacrylic acid polymer adjuvants
The present invention provides for novel immunological and vaccine formulations comprising a newly applied non-crosslinked polyacrylic acid polymer adjuvant. The adjuvants may be combined with a wide variety of immunogens to produce vaccines that are safe and effective when administered to a wide range of target animals. The immunogens may include, but are not limited to: inactivated pathogens, attenuated pathogens, subunits, recombinant expression vectors, plasmids or combinations thereof. The animals may include, but are not limited to: humans, murine, canines, felines, equines, porcines, ovines, caprines and bovines.
Heterologous administration of tau vaccines
Methods for inducing an immune response against tau protein in a subject suffering from a neurodegenerative disease, disorder or condition, such as Alzheimer's Disease, are described. The methods include administering a liposomal priming composition containing tau peptides, preferably phosphorylated tau peptides, and a conjugate boosting composition containing tau peptides, preferably phosphorylated tau peptides, conjugated to an immunogenic carrier.
THERAPEUTIC VACCINES FOR TREATING HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS TYPE-2 INFECTIONS
The invention provides methods and kits for inducing a therapeutic immunity in animals (e.g. mammals) against viral antigens, including herpes-simplex virus type 2. In particular, the invention provides a method of treating animals with an established HSV-2 infection by administering a therapeutic vaccine comprising a priming dose of a nucleic acid encoding an HSV-2 antigen, an initial or first boosting dose comprising the protein form of the antigen encapsulated in liposomes, and one or more subsequent boosting doses comprising both the nucleic acid encoding the HSV-2 antigen and the liposomal-encapsulated protein antigen.
METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR INDUCTION OF IMMUNE RESPONSE
The invention provides a substantially antigen-free composition for induction of innate immune response in a bird or a mammal, the composition comprising a saponin, a sterol, a quaternary amine, and a polyacrylic polymer to the mammal or bird. Methods of using the composition are also provided.
VACCINATION
The present invention relates to compositions for use in and methods for protecting against Herpes Zoster (HZ).
LIPID A MIMICS, METHODS OF PREPARATION, AND USES THEREOF
The invention provides lipid A mimics in which one or both of the sugar residues of a natural lipid A disaccharide backbone has been replaced with an aromatic group. These lipid A mimics may further differ from a natural lipid A molecule with respect to other structural characteristics, such as, a different number of phosphate groups present, changes in the number, structure and location of lipid chains and/or changes in the spacing and linkage of the sugar residues (or their aromatic replacements). The lipid A mimics may be lipid A agonists and as such may be useful as immunostimulatory agents in inducing or patenting an antibody and/or cell-mediated immune response, or may be lipid A antagonists and as such may be useful in treating or preventing a lipopolysaccharide (LPS)/lipid A-mediated disease or disorder. Also provided are methods for preparing the lipid A mimics.
