An objective of the invention is to provide a powdered solid cosmetic that has excellent powder dispersibility and high impact resistance, while also having a texture similar to that in the case in which an elastic spherical powder is blended. The powdered solid cosmetic according to the present invention contains (A) a non-elastic spherical powder having a crushing strength per particle of 30 MPa or higher; (B) 1% to 15% by mass of iron oxide; (C) a gel-type partially crosslinked organopolysiloxane polymer; and (D) a non-ionic surfactant having an HLB of 10 or lower; wherein the (A) non-elastic spherical powder constitutes 90% by mass or more of all spherical powders contained in the cosmetic.

A thickened aqueous composition containing about 0.01% to about 10%, by weight, of an superabsorbent polymer, about 0.1% to about 20%, of a silicone elastomer; about 0.1% to about 20%, by weight, of a fatty alcohol; and from about 20% to about 98% of water.

Rheology modifiers comprising cross-linked poly(amino acid) and methods of their use in aqueous compositions. The modifiers comprise cross-linked poly(amino acid) microparticles having a mean equivalent diameter when fully swollen in deionized water of up to 1000 μm, as measured by laser diffraction. In particular, the poly(amino acid) is D-, L- or D,L-Y-poly(glutamic acid). A method of preparing the modifier comprises cross-linking a poly(amino acid), drying the cross-linked poly(amino acid) and grinding the cross-linked poly(amino acid) to have the required diameter.

The disclosure describes an oil-in-water composition for skin external application using a gel of crosslinked hyaluronic acid or a salt thereof and having a sherbet-like texture and feeling of use. The composition of the disclosure comprises the gel particles of crosslinked hyaluronic acid or a salt thereof and emulsion particle having a specific particle size distribution of D(0.5) in an aqueous phase and an oil phase, respectively, so that the composition has a particulate feeling such as sherbet, mashed potato or meringue while having a fluffy appearance or texture, and also provides a refreshing feeling of use when applied, and is easy to clean by comprising the aqueous phase as an outer phase.

A cosmetic composition includes one or more solvents and one or more rejuvenation cosmetic components. The one or more solvents include dimethyl sulfoxide and/or dimethyl sulfone. Compositions of the present invention include an anionic surfactant, a zwitterionic surfactant, a superhydrophilic amphiphilic copolymer, an organic acid; and a polymer selected from the group consisting of a non-hydrophobically modified alkali-swellable emulsion polymer and a non-crosslinked hydrophobically modified acid-swellable emulsion polymer, wherein, when the composition contains the non-hydrophobically modified alkali-swellable emulsion polymer, the non-hydrophobically modified alkali-swellable emulsion polymer is present in an amount of about 0.1% to 5% by weight, and when the composition contains the non-crosslinked hydrophobically modified acid-swellable emulsion polymer, the non-hydrophobically modified acid-swellable emulsion polymer is present in an amount of about 0.1% to 5% by weight, and wherein the composition has an NTU value of 95 or less, a yield value of about 0.1 Pascal or more and pH of from about 3 to about 6.5.

Skin tightening compositions for application to the skin for providing an instantaneous and dramatic improvement to the appearance of skin. The skin tightening compositions typically include a dispersion (A) comprising i) at least two particle consisting of an ethylenic polymer, ii) at least stabilizers comprising at least one (C3-C12)cycloalkyl group, iii) at least one hydrocarbon-based fatty substance which is liquid at 20° C. and 1 atmosphere, iv) at least one polyol which is liquid at 20° C. and 1 atmosphere and optionally v) water, one ore more polyols, in addition to the one or more polyol(s) from A)iv), which may be the same or different than the one from A)iv); one or more volatile hydrocarbon, in addition to the one or more volatile hydrocarbon(s) from A)iii), which may be the same or different than the one from A)iii); one or more fillers.

A cosmetic composition may be utilized to provide improved wear and transfer resistance. The cosmetic composition may include a (i) hydrogel dispersion in oil, the hydrogel having an ethylenic polymeric core, as well as (ii) a transfer-resistant film former, (iii) a hydrophilic active agent incorporated into the ethylenic polymeric core, or (iv) both (ii) and (iii). The dispersion may include a plurality of ethylenic polymeric core particles dispersed in a fatty substance that is liquid at 20° C. and 1 atmosphere that also includes a polymeric stabilizing agent.
